Episode 386

Only Naruto can adapt 30 pages worth of material into 3-4 episodes.

I can't believe they still haven't finished this damn meeting, I thought at least it would be done by today but they're milking this for as much as it is worth.

You are confusing Naruto with One Piece here. This part was painfully slow in the manga as well, maybe not quite as long on paper, but you definitely can't call Naruto a slow Anime. They are actually going through things at a decent pace whenever they are not stuck in filler hell, especially when compared to the unwatchably slow piece of crap that One Piece has become.

I kind of enjoy that they elaborated on Obitos past here. Maybe it is because I have read the Manga, but I definitely remember being pissed off when these chapters first came out. Now I am actually enjoying this, which I never thought I would. The major problem with Obito in the manga, besides the incredibly whiny way he was portrayed, which the Anime kind of fixed, is that the impression of his past that we got, was kind of lackluster. I mean, how can I care about the 217th Rin flashback if I have no idea who Rin actually was? I think I have a better understanding of that now after watching the Anime. Then again this is just my personal oppinion I guess. I just think this part is really important regarding how much of a shit you will give later on and this does make Obito's story seem more tragic than the manga did. So I say, take your time and do it right, this time around.

Also: Things will definitely pick up once we hit "Switch". I am also really looking forward to seeing Chapter 672 animated

These last three episodes have just been an elongated Obito flashback that just keeps on repeating itself. I can deal with an episode of flashbacks, but fucking 3? We get so much unnecessary material like showing their chunin exam and whatnot. We don't need to see that.

In the manga, it was much more brief and to the point, here it's just way too long. I mean, now they're carrying this over to a 4th episode! They should have had this sequence done last episode at the latest.

And everyone knows that the Naruto anime is notorious for its flashbacks. I don't watch One Piece, but the Naruto anime I wouldn't call a greatly paced show whatsoever. The flashbacks and fillers can be so unbearable at times, Studio Pierrot definitely tries to milk this series as much as they can.

Seeing as the anime got around 40-50 chapters to go, and Naruto going at the pace it normally does. Does this mean we're to expect there to be 24 more episodes, and 6 months or so before it's done?

Edit: Might be 14 episodes I guess, then they will stop at 400. Does anyone know?

Breaks my heart seeing the Rin flashbacks. I wouldn't have minded a 2 month break off like they did for Kakashi that focused on Rin up to the point where she dies. I want to know more about her.

They're really trying to get the nostalgia vibes from Kakashi Gaiden huh?

Sadly, it looks like the next episode will have a load of flashbacks..
