I am payed through april but am seriously considering dropping my subscription... I have hulu plus and they have nearly everything you do.. they are a bit behind and I don't like their queue setup and interface... but they DO have chromecast support... it is time crunchyroll... get up with the times... give us chromecast support... I would prefer to stay with you and skip the ads and such too... but it is looking like hulu is about to steam roll you.. and I dunno if I want to invest another year in a service that is falling behind the times....

Please support this. The Flingo app for Vizio is pretty bad and needs a good alternative.

+1. Ditto! I agree! I Concur! And whatever other synonyms you want me to throw in. Chromecast support is a must to keep my business. I was considering buying one until I read this. I may still buy one, but my subscription to CR will be in jeopardy.

I just tried this and it work. I downloaded the chromecast extension for my google chrome browser. I clicked on the episode that I wanted to watch then clicked on the "Cast" button on the upper right of the browser to cast it to my tv. I am now watching my show on my tv while sitting in the couch.

Hahahahahah, you are funny... Thats not casting from crunchyroll, you are just casting from your notebook. Which it may no work properly and with lag.

This function could bring so many new viewer, I dont understand why Crunchyroll hasnt implemented yet.

I don't think I felt any lag at all. I was using my desktop to cast it and it was perfectly fine. I still think it's a good alternative.

As much as you guys like to find alternatives, the fact that there is a Public SDK out for Chromecast and that there are now over 95 applications that utilize chromecast in the Play Store says a lot! And if you need proof, go download an app called "Cast Store" from the Play store. It has the complete list of all the apps that use the Cast permission. Native Casting via the app doesn't use web protocols that the Chrome browser uses. It uses seperate API's that have direct linking to the video. In otherwords, casting via the native app runs more "Efficiently" than on the web browser.

I'm an Android developer, so if you need advice or help, let me know.

Crunchyroll works flawlessly on Chromecast with the Plex app and its Crunchyroll plugin, but you need to have your computer turned on. I hope Crunchyroll adds native Chromecast support for their official app eventually. But heavens, their Android app doesn't even have HD streams yet!

The last I saw mentioned, apparently an update to the Google TV app was slated after the OUYA app, and then the update to the general Android app. (All three are Android-based, but with the first being a single hardware platform, and Google TV being only a handful, making for easier development and bug fixing).

I haven't seen any further mention of an update for the Google TV, so I don't know if that idea was scrapped, delayed, or what. I would expect by the time an update to the general Android app is pushed out, building in Chromecast support should be a given.

With that said, for those wanting to help push development of an HD-enabled Android app and/or Chromecast app, if you know of anyone with experience on Android (which despite the name, Chromecast is also based on), you might want to call this to their attention:

I wanted to suggest this myself. I see this thread has been going for awhile now which is sad that there is still no chromecast support CR really needs to be on chromecast.

Not sure about this, but can't you change your default video quality to HD in your account settings? That should apply to Crunchyroll apps for all devices like PS3 and Android devices.
