Just got caught up on a year's worth of One Piece. I saw some people complain about the very long intro and recap at the start of every ep. Doesn't bother me too much since I can just skip it. I do however understand the complaints about how it makes less time for new content. I get why the studio does this and have no serious qualms, because at least it helps prevent fillers and moves the story along, however slow it may be.

Anyway, my question is....

When it comes to long running shonen shows like One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, do you prefer they use filler arcs and episodes to buy time or do you prefer they just do less content but still stick to the original storyline?

Say NO to fillers. Toei did an amazing job to not only have cannon material 95% of the time but the 1-3 "filler" episodes would be content that Oda wanted to put in himself

Hi there, a filler episode here and there doesn't bother me, but months and months of filler--I see why they do it from a business standpoint, but as a viewer, I'd honestly just rather they went on hiatus and picked back up when the true material was ready.
