After using CR for the past few months a few suggestions came to mind to help improve this site and help promote a closer CR community.

1-Suggestion: A pause option for auto queuing the next episode.

Reason: After an episode It's nice to be able to rate it, read and write comments. Without having to worry about CR loading the next episode and changing pages on you.

2-Suggestion: Native persistent Full screen when loading the next video.

Reason: Having to push the full screen button after each episode can be annoying. There are browser extensions out there that fix this problem but it really should be fixed natively

3-Suggestion: Notifications when someone replies to your comments on videos.
[edited 7-28-13 4:01EST Reason: There's a watch button on the top of the forum posts that I didn't notice before. ]

Reason: It's pretty self explanatory. I'd rather get notified about a new post rather than having to check the video periodically to see if there was any responses. This would add to the CR community.

4-Suggestion: New Video in Queue notification e-mails that arrive in a timely manner and don't display episodes you have already watched.

Reason: I get these update alert e-mails 2 days after the air date, Generally everything that's in these alerts I've already watch by that time. They really should go out by the EOD of the day they aired and if you already watched all of them the e-mail doesn't need to be sent.

5-Suggestion: New Videos in Queue counter on the Queue icon of the webpage. This can just be an icon that changes color when new videos and present in the Queue with a number of the New videos next to it.Similar to when you get new posts on facebook. Small pop up would be a nice touch as well(Just not while viewing a full screen video)

Reason: Improves the user experience.

6-Suggestion: Combine Queue functionality with the public Watch List. Auto update episodes watched on CR to the watch list and allow users to set what you want from this list to be viewable tot he public. Still allow watch list to contain videos/series/movies not available on CR.

EDIT: Add back Watchlist to the profile as it was recently removed!

Reason: Makes it much easier for users to share what they've been watching with their friends and the community.

7-Suggestion: Unbury the Become a Fan button for the content pages. (How do you even become a fan?!)

Reason: I've noticed when searching through the site there's a tab for "Fans" but I cannot for the life of me figure out how they became fans since there seems to not be an option to become a fan anywhere on the page. Maybe this got removed by accident during an update?

That's what I can think off the top of my head right now. I'll try to keep this post updated with anything else I can think of.

Update 7-31-2013:

8- Suggestion: Add a rating option on screen after the episode plays, so you can quickly rate an episode right after you've watched it without having to exit full screen.

Update 8-1-2013

9-Suggestion (by suikojay): Increase the number of Poll selection 10+.(Currently 5 is the maximum.)

Reason: 5 just isn't enough choices.

10-Suggestion: Add the Full Japanese title to the videos as well as the English one to avoid confusion when searching for content.

Reason: This is a no brainer, Some of the English titles are completely different than the original Japanese title and can make finding info more complex than it needs to be.

That's quite a list.

I have no say or pull as a forum mod, but lemme me see if I can summon Bjaker or another customer service mod to chime in.

You can achieve the same functionality now by simply turning off autoplay (which can be done at anytime by clicking the icon in the player control), and then selecting the next video from the video window when you are ready to proceed, or from at just below the video window on the left.

2-Suggestion: Native persistent Full screen when loading the next video.

Apparently this has to do with a security feature in Flash that is meant to prevent a hostile site from going full screen without your permission. The only workaround I've seen is for a site to load the next video into the same frame (similar to how commercials are chained into the stream).

Thanks TheAcientOne. I didn't even think about that, but still a pause button would be a nice addition, similar to what Hulu does. As far as Full screen goes I hear the Chrome Extension "CR Queue.0" can fix that but it'd be nice if it was native. I know other video streaming sites do this.

Thanks for your list of suggestions.

In regards to that extension, it is made by one of our moderators beardfist. You can message him via PM for further information regarding that script.

Just wanted to make another minor suggestion here: increase the amount of options in a poll thread. Currently, there's only 5, and that's honestly too low from what I can tell. If we could bump it up to maybe 10, that would be awesome!!

RogueIV wrote: 4-Suggestion: New Video in Queue notification e-mails that arrive in a timely manner and don't display episodes you have already watched.
I added the rss-feed-reader extension to Chrome, which has a way to provide pop-up (along with numbered icon) notifications when something updates, similar the the CR Queue extension for the forums.

Then I added this RSS feed page to that to be watched (it gets updated much more quickly than this page /videos/anime/updated).

Although, it's a little tricky to find the pop-up setting for the notifications your first time through it. After adding the CR feed, do a regular ordinary (left) click on the RSS icon, so it shows your feeds in a dropdown, then in the lower right corner there is a darkened triangular area to click during a mouse-over of each one. Clicking that darkened area lets you Edit the settings for that feed. Near the bottom of the resulting screen is a toggle where you turn notifications on (or off if they annoy you).

The result is I get little browser popup notifications as soon as a new video becomes available on CR as long as I have Chrome up, and if I wasn't using it, I still get numeric notifications that I can click on, whenever I do start it, which show me the last 30 or shows that became available without actually opening a bookmarked page (they won't be in any order until you use it awhile). Just yesterday when all the RWBY vids were being added, with the RSS feed, I knew they were there before going to the main /rwby page even showed any of them to click on.

So, not quite email notifications as you suggest, but good enough for me, because I almost always have Chrome up.

We're looking into adding some of the old Watchlist functionality to the Queue. The Queue was meant to replace the Watchlist, which has been slowly phased out over the last two years. We realize that sharing to the community/public is only possible through the old lists, but the usage of the Watchlist was a tiny fraction of Queue usage.

Good to hear. I believe the reason for little watchlist usage was probably due to the fact that it is kinda clunky to work with. I'm not sure if that was a product of parts of it being phased out or something else but it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to use. If it's features were combined with the queue function I'd be willing to bet that it's usage would be a lot higher as it'd be much less cumbersome to utilize.
