When in auto play mode, I set full screen, and I turn subtitles off. This works fine until the show is over and it goes to the next episode where the website then kicks back into windowed mode, and turns subtitles back on. I'm getting tired of changing these settings over and over and over and over again. Is there a way to set this permanently to full screen/ no subtitles mode?

You can set your subtitles here:

https://www.crunchyroll.com/acct/?action=video

However we do not currently support fullscreen from one episode to another.

Hmm, when I set to Japanese subtitles it plays with Portuguese subtitles. At least I think it's Portuguese. I keep seeing 'mas' all the time.

That's right, "mas" means "but" in Portuguese (in Spanish too, but it's seldom used).

It's not possible to set the default to "No Subtitles". Selecting "日本語" in Video Preferences would in fact mean Japanese subtitles, but since no shows have them—if I'm not mistaken—it falls back on Portuguese.

I think this is a bug. That falling back from Japanese to nothing would be better than defaulting to Portuguese. NOTE: Japanese subtitles would be really cool -- and make this site super-useful for those of us who study the language.

CrunchyRoll should consider this. I think there aren't a huge number of people learning Japanese, but that if you are, and this site is useful, you're more likely to become a paying user.

Yes, I agree it should at least remove the subs altogether. That might actually be easy for Crunchyroll to implement.

About offering Japanese subtitles... I can't say it doesn't sound nice to me, but I imagine it'd be a lot more complicated and totally not worth it. The hypothetical amount of people who would become premium members because of Japanese subs is, I assume, so small that Crunchyroll wouldn't go all the way to secure the rights to offer them (I believe you have to negotiate that with publishers separately) and adapt them. It wouldn't be a simple copy-paste job: they'd have to separate the whole script into 1- or 2-line chunks and in some cases it might even require retiming them, since you can generally fit more Japanese text in those 1 or 2 lines than in English.

I wish it would support Fullscreen from one episode to another as it is incredibly annoying if you are trying to watch a bunch of episodes back to back to have to keep running back to the Pc between episodes to tell it to go fullscreen again.

As CR would need to change the way playback works to change that (i.e., loading the next video into the same frame without changing the URL), a quick fix would be a wireless mouse. I can testify the Logitech M525 works well on a cloth surface and has good range.

There are even those wireless keyboards with a trackpad built in, I wouldn't use it but there's a market out there I'm sure.

The reason I suggested the mouse is because it has a much smaller footprint than a keyboard, but is sufficient for re-engaging full screen video and many other tasks one would normally perform when viewing video on CR.

I have one of those keyboard with a built-in trackpad (a Logitech K400). It is currently in storage as I didn't find the trackpad that useful (lacking middle-click functionality made it less useful for me). I also had a less than desirable arrangement of the keys near the right shift key and I missed having a numeric keypad more than I expect. Both issues were remedied by its replacement, the Logitech K360 I am using now.

There are also apps that allow one to use their phone or tablet as a mouse (and in some cases, keyboard) for their PC.
