I prefer to be alone when I watch anything. Rather not have distractions.

It doesn't make a difference to me... as I'll be focusing on the story, not the person sitting next to me.

When playing an MMORPG though, I prefer playing with people, the more the merrier. Love working in a team to kill boss monsters.

Finding the right show to watch with somebody is sometimes difficult, but find the right one and it is a pleasant enough experience. I've watched a few series with a few friends before. But for the most part I do it alone.

I don't really care. As long as the other person is quiet.

It all depends on the show.

Watching Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann, or Neon Genesis Evangelion alone? Baaah I say! It's foolish, absurd, stupid, downright insulting! These are shows where you gotta get your friends and siblings together to fist pump the air when something goes right, or all shout NOOOO in unison when something goes bad!

Then you have Slice of life, Harem, VN adaptations, and the like. These are shows you should watch alone. If not for the questionable ecchi content as much as for the experience. These are stories, similar to books, and are strong experiences in their own right.

Then you have comedies......when is a comedy ever better alone than in a group?

Mecha's should be appreciated by a group, but not all at once. Talking about it later is just fine, so alone you should watch it.

I'm someone who prefers watching Anime in a group.

Dammit! Too many alone's in this thread. What's the matter with you people? Ain't you ever up for a good old debate after a show?

Anime is something you watch by yourself while performing auto-erotic asphyxiation

Probably people are just too used to the high quality discussions that ensure here on the CR forums, so they aren't willingly to lower themselves to the level of the people available to them in real life.

The people I talk to in real life are above the average Forum go-er.

However, they're much much harder to get a hold of.

Unless it's with a significant other, alone is usually my general choice.

I'll talk about an anime with someone until I pass out, but I'd rather watch it by myself.

The only exception would be if we had access to a theater, or similar venue (or just a big-ass room with a projector, etc.), the lights were off, and proper theater etiquette was maintained at all times (although cheering and fistpumping is fine).

But crowding around a TV in a lit room with other people talking and walking around... that'd be a nightmare.
