Would you like to see an anime that is based on true stories of unethical human experiments?

I'm very interested to see an anime like this, where they explicitly explore unethical human experiments like gathering people to live in a prison, or experimenting on children.
Exploring the characters' anguish and pain and how they're able to cope during the testing.

I know Elfen Lied kind of fits the bill, but at the same time it doesn't because of the invisible arms thing, it's kind of unrealistic and doesn't really focus on the process of experimentation itself.

What do you think?

I'm up for psychological horror like this, but too bad they're rare to find or they don't exist entirely.
Supernatural is fine too. There's more of that than realistically speaking.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is a good example, but not on a good basis of 'true stories'.
If you guys possibly find any though, please do post !

I put maybe, but I do lean towards yes.

There are certainly a few topics where I might not be as keen to watch, however in general I'm always willing to try and understand a different perspective, or a complex topic.

Depends on the story. If it's done right then I don't see why not.

It would have to be handled well, with sympathy towards the victims of the experiment. If it was just a gore fest for gore fanatics to masturbate to, that would not be okay.

Something like the Stanford Prison Experiment could be interesting. But it happened in the early 70s so it might still be a little fresh in human history.

Also Josef Mengele was a pretty twisted doctor amongst the Nazis, he was notoriously known within the Auschwitz prison camp for his human experiments.

Depends. I'm not a fan of gore or overall depressing stories if you ask me.

Yes, definitely. As long as the animation is really good, pacing is good enough, soundtrack, voice actors and above all, story line is interesting enough, then why dont we all give it a shot? I like psychological thrillers and gory stuff so sure!

COUGH Attack On Titan COUGH

But yeah, I'd like to see that.

depends.

You said realistic. So yeah, like how many anime titles do pull elements from real life experiments, (the aforementioned prison experiment, some other human genetic studies, etc. have been mentioned and alluded to in titles), you're talking straight up true to life realism.

I'm more likely to think they'll be very boring episodes, or over the top gory AND boring...(trust me, the findings or papers written on the experiments are often boring in their proceedure of experimentation, but exciting only in the findings.)

But, if there was little else, I'd give it a shot

I voted maybe but in all honesty, probably not. Ive seen some gore anime and there just not really my thing, the only anime I really liked with gore was Future Diary.
