As you know, if you've made it up to season 3, there's a large gap in-between Season 2 and 3 for The World God Only Knows, skipping 72 consecutive chapters of the manga. Personally, I'm conflicted as to whether this was the right decision or not, because, true, I loved the chapters in-between and I wasn't happy when they skipped over Tsukiyo and Yui completely, since they are so relevant to the story. I really liked some of the girls in those chapters and I think their stories should have been heard. However, some can also argue that the middle chapters were repetitive and would've dragged on the anime too much before they could reach the Goddess Arc, which personally is my favorite arc. It would've taken an entire season longer to get to the Goddess Arc and people could've lost interest before the best part of TWGOK could be brought to animation. Who know, maybe you're a fan who didn't like the Goddess arc and thinks the middle chapters were better story, so they should have did it.

As much as I love the middle chapters, should they have gotten their own season? Did the anime make a good decision by skipping right to the Goddess Arc? Or are you mad at the direction of the anime? Is there any changes you would make to how they presented the Goddess Arc?

I'd like to know you're opinion.

First, thanks for clarifying the leap from 2 to 3. I haven't read the Manga and I recently finished season 2 and started watching season 3 and was a little confused on the continuity. I think I land on the side that another season of loose sole exorcism might have dragged a bit for the anime series. Perhaps they could have dedicated a couple of shows in season 3 to the relevant new characters conquest (really hate that term).

I do kind of like that season 3 has a darker element to it (at the expense of Apollo). I have to admit that season 2 would have been a good stopping point for those of us that have just watched the Anime. It offered some hope for Katsuragi (pardon if not spelled correctly) in that had his eyes opened that there may be a route in the real world for him.

I can't really say anything that would influence your opinion since I'm trying to remain objective, but I will say, if you do get a chance to read the manga, or at least for Tsukiyo and Yui. There are some good conquests in there, though, if you do want to visit some of what Keima did in the chapters they skipped, you might like it. Also, I just remembered, there is something that does need to be explained, or the "Level 4" Weiss (Weiss meaning loose souls), which requires a special capturing method and are Weiss that Keima and Elsie have encountered in those chapters in-between.

Also, you're welcome. I'd imagine it would be incredibly confusing as they skipped so much content.

Here's a link to the manga just for anyone who wants to read it for free online:

They skipped everything from chapters 42 though 113. 114 onward is where Season 3 of the anime marches on from. I guess that is less than 100, so my apologies, but you get the idea.
