So, don't act normal and don't act abnormal... gotta love dealing with the police.

Nah, it is just be naturally normal. Nothing forced.

The problem with that is what's normal for one person isn't always the same for another. Some people are introverted, so they would look out of place if you're looking for forced normality, where as some people are very boisterous and fidgety, making them very conspicuous by nature.

"Naturally normal" would paint them as targets if the police are looking for those "too normal" and suspicious looking folks.

LOL always start shaping up, like fix posture, hands out of pockets. Even though I'm not hiding anything, I just get panicked

I've never met a rude cop and I've only ever gotten one speeding fine, which the district attorney reduced as a gesture of good will ($250 down to $50). Other times I should have gotten a speeding ticket but the cop didn't care to write one up and let me off with a warning.

I was riding in my dad's corvette once and we got pulled over, probably going around 100 in a 50 zone. Maybe seeing some old bald guy with his son made him lenient, but he let us off, joking that we could have kept going and he'd have never caught us.

That said, I act meek around cops. I imagine they don't want to end up harassing meek, fragile people.

I usually ignore them. One thing I have learned is to completely ignore police. If they come up and talk to me, I say nothing. If they persist, I say "Am I being detained or am I free to go?" That is all I usually say. I have no desire whatsoever to spend time with police. I am not saying all police are bad. I've met some nice ones, but I've also met a lot of jerks and because of them I choose not to speak with them at all.

I've said this to people before and they say stuff like "Well, if someone breaks into your house, I bet you'd call them." Yes, I would call them...so they can come collect the body of the burglar after we're through with them. I live in Texas where if someone breaks into your house, you can kill them and not be charged. I'm not a violent person, but if you come into my house unwelcomed, you better be carrying a rabbit's foot.

When I see a cop I wonder why he's driving 5 to 10 under the speed limit and everyone around him is afraid to pass him. If the speed limit is 50 and the officer is doing 45 I go around.

I always think they are watching me making sure they can pull me over. I have never been pulled over, in 6 years of driving. I am OCD that they are just watching and waiting...

Hide where they can't see you. But, in the case that you run into in plain sight, then I try to seem like a normal person. I haven't really done anything wrong to where I would get arrested, but, you know, it's what people in my part of town do.

I live In Manhattan and my school is near a police station. The police are really cool and being the crazy person I am, I like to see a giant group of them walking and start waving and shouting "hi"s at them.

My friend that was older than me was driving a faster than the speed limit, skipped a red light by accident, and when we were pulled over he just gave us a warning my friend was really surprised and grateful that we gave him some donuts ~The End~

Now, you have SO many rights when it comes to police officers. YOU DO NOT have to identify yourself, you do not have to give them your ID.

Again, officers have no right to search your persons, your vehicle, your property, etc, unless he has reasonable suspicion to do so and there are very strict guidelines as to what constitutes reasonable.

<edit> btw, this is within the US. I can't help the folks in other countries, sorry.

Yes, unfortunately, the things above don't apply for Germany.
