Or you could just watch it on Crunchyroll. :D

Would Tiger & Bunny and IGPX technically be considered mecha? IGPX was my favorite in the day. I hear Toonami has been re-airing it lately.

I usually avoid being so absolute like "yes these tacos ARE THE BEST tacos" because odds are there are better tacos somewhere in the world.

but F%^# THAT yeah Gurren Laggan is the god-tier top-schizz die-for mech anime #DRILLTHEHEAVENS

jk, I don't tweet

but no other show, whether live action (Battlestar Galactica, West Wing) or anime (Code Geass, Gundam series, evan-Fing-gelion) has ever given me such a great CHILLS DOWN MY BACK to EPIC EPISODE ratio

the speeches inspire, the action screams get me pumped, I get chills just thinking of every scene they ask WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM!?

the bravado, guts and glory, coming of age type stuff just gets me right in the heart.

now can anybody tell me where I can get my hands on a revoltech Gurren>_>

Sure, I could get behind Gurren Lagann. Everyone I know likes it.

Gun x Sword was definitely one I liked, too.

I actually haven't seen much Gundam, but 08th MS Team was one of the earliest animes I watched and I liked it a lot. Nice to have the main character be merely average.

Eh for me, TTGL is probably among my favorite mecha series. I'm a fan of mecha anime so to say that it's the "best" among every mech anime is a bit of an exaggeration though.

I will still always say that Martian Successor Nadesico is the best mecha anime. better than Gurren Lagann, because while Gurren Lagann is a parody/throwback to one specific type of mecha anime, Nadesico parodies them all, yet still has a serious plot and characters. plus, Akito is nowhere near as annoying as Simon was, and Ruri is the best character ever.

Gurren Lagann is very good, although I didn't really like the ending. To be honest although I enjoy watching Mech anime I can't say that I have ever watched a Mech series that I was ever completely satisfied with, I guess I would say that Gurren Lagann came the closest though. Evangelion and Code Geass were also good and I am fond of Eureka Seven.

I'd agree. TTGL is very enjoyable, but certainly not the "best mecha ever." I really enjoyed E7 as well, I think the '90s Giant Robo OVA might actually be one of my favorite pieces of cinema ever.

Or you could get a Netflix DVD subscription, see if your local library has a copy, or find a friend who has the DVDs. Or just look it up on ANN and find their streams: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/video/1506/.

There aren't many animes out there that actually bring out an emotional response like Gurren Lagann does. Its inspiring. It makes you want to get up and power through all the problems in your life. It makes you feel invincible.

And there's Yoko's tits

it's true. no mecha can match:
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Heaven-Piercing Gurren Lagann

It has been confirmed in the data books that the Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is more than 10 million light years in height. This makes it more than one hundred times the diameter of the Milky Way Galaxy, and also made it the largest mecha seen in animation to date, until the release of the Lagann-hen movie.

as for best Mecha Anime ...I haven't seen them all to give you a proper answer.
