Anime helped me to become the person I am today; it helps define who I am. I could live without anime, but I might get bored. There's a balance between anime, games, and various other aspects of my life that makes it complete.

That's a tough one to answer. Well, I can't say it forms my identity; all of my peers, friends and family have no interest, are prejudiced or don't even know what anime even means. Or maybe they're like me and aren't open about it. And I certainly won't be naming my firstborn after an anime character (heaven forbid Lucy's full first name from Servant x Service).

But it's definitely irreplaceable...

Meh, it's just a form of TV/film that I don't exclude as many do. I have no devotion to anime as a whole, but rather an individual series or movie that I like.

I've always been a fantasy/scifi/horror fan anyway all of my life so anime's just another area of entertainment I like.

Extremely important; I doubt I'd be able to press on with life's everyday wear-and-tear without it.

Anime is like a dear 'friend' to me. It filled my childhood with happiness and imagination, and my most tender childhood memories were spent in front of the tv watching anime, drawing anime and writing stories about my favorite characters. It means a lot but the older I get the less I watch anime and I find no interest in almost all recent anime. Last year I didn't watch a complete series, I'd always drop them or forget about them but this year that feeling of love for anime came back thanks to the anime Free! Iwatobi swim club, very enjoyable and I found it easy to like and to bond with the characters.

always loved it, always will. that being said i think i would survive fine without it if i suddenly never had access to it again but it would make me pretty sad. it helped shape my life a lot and as pathetic as it may sound it kept me going a lot during hard times. so id say its precious to me

I can honestly say I love anime. It's by far my favorite form of any artistic medium.
Very few television series/movies have had the same emotional impact on me that a lot of the anime series I've watched have.

But at the end of the day, anime is anime... Of course sometimes it feels nice to escape from reality. But when it becomes a regular thing you have a serious problem. Behind the escape are people in the real world working their asses off.

Anime and Japan mean ALOT to me. I'm not really an otaku about it. But I was motivated and sometimes inspired to draw and my make my own characters because of anime.I also view it as one of the most varied forms of art.

I'v made alot of uninspired original characters. But if anime were never there to influence me beforehand. They probably would have just been deemed a dumb idea and ended up on my "bad idea" list to be scrapped.I owe anime alot for this.I feel sometime in life I need to go to Japan. To me it would be a shame to not visit . Since I've taken so much inspiration from the things that come from there
