[Floor 7] «Foretsa»

(25% Floor Mapped)

[Safe Area] «New Beginning»

This is a town of new beginnings, the last couple of levels had been plain, or had lacked in creativity almost as if the designers had meant to be working towards this level. The city was alive with people, both merchants and those willing to spend their hard earned coll. The town had sprawling streets and large buildings. The design of them had some Asian ancestry but it also seemed modern in a way that seemed very real. As you got further into the center of the town the streets narrowed and the buildings got taller. If one was not careful it was easy to get lost in the alleys and streets of the downtown quarter. In between the buildings there were many lines or what looked like rope. This was a highway for any who dared to run on them, but if you fell not only could one bruise their ego, but damage their armor significantly as well. One main attraction was right in the small town square, there was a special shop that claimed to not only sell weapons, armor, and information, but new beginnings as well.

[Combat Field] «Trees of the Forest»

The combat area was almost too beautiful for it's purpose. As you walked out of town you got to a bridge over a small stream, one so small you would barely notice it if not for the soft sound of running water. After you walked over that bridge you plunged into a world of sights and sounds few before had heard. It was like you walked back in time, before anything existed there. There was moss on the ground which meant that movement through the trees made almost no sound, both for players and their opponents. On the parts of the ground where there was no moss there was tall grass that waved in the cool, but ever present wind as it swept through the trees on it's way. There was the odd tree that seemed fallen, and had been hollowed out with time and was a favorite hiding spot for the Beaffer. A small rodent with large teeth that was difficult not due to it's number, but it's size. It was small but tough. Above, there was a covering of leaves so thick that though the trees were separate, there were only patches of sunlight that came through and warmed not only body but soul. Though these areas were a dangerous hunting spot sometimes due to the Flying Phalkin, it does light damage but it's attack speed was faster then any other monsters to date.

Wolf reached the portal that connected all of the available floors, and turned it on, allowing the people from the previous floors up. A message above stated that floor 7 was now available to travel to by means of teleportation.

Looking around, Wolf fit right in. He had the look of tough street punk, but not the kind that would follow orders, the kind that would make them. Wolf took a closer look at his weapon just as the mass of people, who didn't take part in the boss battle, flowed into the new map. It fit his play style but it was growing old on him. He needed something strong and fast like lightning.

Wolf disappeared without saying a word to his comrades and made his way to the shop that attracted the most customers. The shop's description stated it also sold new beginnings and faintly, a smile appeared on his face. After all of the people they lost on the previous floor, something like that was just what everyone needed.

Browsing through the items, Wolf found something that sparked his interest. He left the shop and thought he saw some familiar faces in the corner of his eyes but he just kept on walking. "Let's do a little sight seeing before we get into any serious business," he whispered to himself.

Zwei was just wandering around aimlessly in Balandor at floor 5, when the notice that Floor 6 had been cleared and Floor 7 was accessible through the portal, came up. He stopped up and hesitated, and as he did, a cheer went through the town, as people rushed to the new floor, for whatever reason they had to rush there. He on the other hand, did not feel the need to rush, and decided that he would take his time in reaching the portal. Though, the time went by quickly and just as that, he entered the 7th floor.

The new safe area was different in about every way from the other safe areas, but it looked good. Well, it wasn't the most prettiest of safe areas, but it felt familiar. Maybe it was the slightly asian design, or maybe it was the narrow streets and high buildings, it was really hard to figure out what it was, but it reminded Zwei about his humongous hometown, Tokyo. It was different, no doubt about that, but there were several traits here and there that reminded him of home, and it felt good. "I really like this town" he said to himself.

He hadn't participated in the boss fight at floor 6, and he hadn't seen any of his friends, or at least party members, for quite a while either. He hadn't felt up to the task, and really just felt like he would disappoint the others in the party. The feeling was still there, but he was glad that he had entered the new floor, and he really considered making this his permanent home.

He walked further into the city and past a shop that apparently sold "Weapons, armor, Information and New beginnings". He was a little surprised by that, and he wondered what it meant by "New beginnings", and what it involved when bought. But he didn't have the time right now to find out. The first thing he had to do now was find a good place to stay, and maybe look for something more permanent...

The inky darkness extended further than the imagination dared venture, and in the center, suspended like a limp doll, was a single figure with shining white hair. Sobs echoed through the darkness, only to be swallowed up by the void. Tears were streaming down Vyse's face as a single thought consumed his mind; "I don't want to die!"

Consumed by the fear and sadness, Vyse did not notice the system announcement appear before him. A single line of text broke through the seemingly unending darkness.

SYSTEM ERROR. RECONFIGURING DATA.

After the fight, Amon was exhausted yet relieved. He saw Wolf activate the portal and used it to get to floor 7. It looked like the streets of his old city. He took in a deep breath and it even smelled like it. Amon felt a slight ping of sorrow but he shrugged it off and walked off into the city.

Amon figured he should probably go shopping but before he did anything else he decided to check his gear and noticed that most of it was on the verge of breaking. Amon looked at his shield and decided that he was going to sell it. It had served him well since he had acquired it but it no longer suited his play style. Amon looked around for a blacksmith shop and found one called "Something old, Something new". Amon thought it was a nice place so he entered it to find an older looking woman behind the counter. "Hello miss, I would like some of my gear repaired." "That will be 32 coll" she replied. He gave her the money and decided to sell her it afterwards so it would sell for more.

Amon continued around the store until a set caught his eye. It was made of cloth and reminded him of a karate students uniform. There were long pants with wide ends towards the feet along with a top that hung only over one shoulder and basic looking flip flops. The base armor was much lower than his previous armor but the stats were significantly better, including defense. Amon decided to buy the set for 70 coll and tried it on. It was very comfortable and he felt much more maneuverable in it. Amon paid the shopkeeper and left the store. "They kinda feels like pajamas" he laughed as he walked around looking for a new weapon.

Nick opened his eyes, the boss was defeated and the floor had been cleared.
They had lost people in their group for the first time since this nightmare began.

Nick looked around and saw the party break apart and leave.

He sighed and got off the floor.

Looking over his inventory his armor was still in the green, but the hits he
blocked in the boss fight took a toll on his sword, it was on the verge of breaking.

Nick walked out into the streets of the 7th floor, a message popped up "Welcome to the town of New Beginning"

Nick smiled.
"Yea i think we could use that" he muttered.

Nick walked around town and found himself in front of a store that sold new and used,
and sold new beginnings.

"What the hell is up with that?" Nick asked himself.
But he entered non the less.

Nick saw a new sword on display. The black one handed longsword was around 15-20% stronger then his previous one.

"How much for this sword?" nick asked.

"3500 coll" The store keeper said.

3500 would be a dent in nicks finances but he decided to buy it anyway.

When he walked out nick sheathed his new sword and looked around.
here and there in the crowd he saw people from his party but he decided for now to explore and get back to buisness at a later time.

With a brilliant blue flash, a vivid world rose up. Pillars of glowing mesh and code sprung from the darkness, and a labyrinth of interlacing wires wound between them like a web. In seconds an entire city had appeared out of nowhere, constructed completely out of what looked like the inner workings of a computer program. Then, inch by inch, the structures began to fill with colour and texture to reveal a dense urban jungle of highrise buildings and fly wires.

Sadness was replaced with confusion, and Vyse was unable to completely comprehend what was going on. Dazedly, he looked around trying to make heads or tails of the situation. Amid the chaos and newly formed landscape was a small flicker of white light that caught Vyse's attention. Barely able to make out its shape, he strained to identify the source of light.
Reconfiguring Data

Looking around, Vyse noticed that not only had the buildings around him appeared out of nowhere, but several feet below the floor was teeming with people, seemingly unaware of his presence. Another flash pulled Vyse's attention away from the crowds below.

Reconfiguring Complete. Minimal Data Loss

Before he could process what was happening, a glow surrounded him and he began to descend into the bustling street below. Soon, he was surrounded by fellow players shuffling past one another, and as a particularly tall man pushed past, Vyse felt his shoulder collide with the strangers. Surprise flooded through him, but the tall stranger continued of his way as if he hadn't even noticed. A notification icon appeared in the corner of his field of vision, and when he activated it, a small message popped up.

It didn't take Wolf long to get lost in his thoughts before coming back to the bitter "reality" in front of him. Now, even though he found himself, he was truly lost in this urban jungle. "If only I could get a better view of where I am," he whispered looking up at the buildings.

To his right was a crate against a rectangular building and diagonally above it was a horizontal bar that held the shop name. Most of the buildings were structured this way and Wolf knew but only one thing to do. He ran towards the obvious stepping block and jumped onto it, feeling a rush that could only be found in fast paced chasing game. His next step was on top of the shop sign. Before Wolf could think, he had to react. A similar bar to the one he was currently on, we the perfect gap for him to step on next.

That led to a small balcony from which helped him get onto the roof of that two story building. Looking around, Wolf knew that this was how he was going to get around this map, jumping from building to building. He also knew that the others were thinking the same. Wolf began running on the rooftops, he always wanted to do stuff like this.

Wolf steadily made his way on top of a sturdy rope that led to another building. By doing so, he had to pass over a street, which of course had people traveling on it. That's when he caught sight of a fellow boss runner. He made eye contact with that person and Wolf gave off a mischievous smile. From his crouched position, he broke into a sprint.

Let the games begin.

It didn't take Zwei long to find a place to stay for the night, the only problem was that night was still a few hours away, and he couldn't bring himself to stay still in the room he had rented. The inn was quite nice though, it was one of the more silent ones, as it didn't have a bar like many other's had, instead it had a nice quiet restaurant, which served quite good food. He didn't mind at all, as it suited him quite well.

He wandered around town, and quickly started to notice people staring at him, and whispering. He stopped and took a quick look at himself in the reflection from a shopping window. When he did that, he quickly understood why people were staring at him. He looked like a hobo, a literal homeless person. "I really need to get some new gear, and clean up a bit." he thought to himself.

He started walking around town looking for a blacksmith. He needed some solid light armor, and he needed a armorer he could trust to maintain his gear, especially if he is going to live in this town.
A store caught Zwei's eye and he turned towards it. As he approached the door to the shop, a familiar face left the store. But he didn't have to time, or will to stop an talk, so he just let him past and entered the store. The store's name was "something old, Something new", and Zwei knew he needed something new, as he needed something good. He looked around the store, browsing and looking high and low. And all the way in the back of the shop, he found what he was looking for.

It was a full light armor, mostly made of leather, but it had a incorporated metal breastplate. It was a set of three pieces, one upper body piece with the breastplate, that had long leather sleeves and reinforced elbows, colored in normal leather brown. The arms were light but still very strong, so it would allow plenty of advanced movement when fighting. The bottom part was black leather, with reinforced kneecaps and a inner chainmail like layer, called Jazerant. (When the mail is between two layers of fabric, in this case leather.)
The third and last piece was a large leather coat, also in leather brown. he checked the stats, and the choice was obvious. He had to take it. all the stats were higher than in the armor he already had, and the armor rating also got upped quite a bit, because of all the reinforcements. But as a result, it was also quite heavier than the one he already had, but no worries, he could live with that. "I'll take this one!" he said to the lady, which he presumed owned the shop.

He also found himself a new katana, since the one ha had was at breaking point. He had the old one repaired though, since he needed a backup, just in case something were to happen to the new one. The katana in itself was quite plain. It looked almost too normal, except for the length. It was 51 inches,or almost 130 cm. in length. The name of the blade was spelled out with golden kanji on the scabbard. "宣誓波浪" or roughly translated, "Oath-breaker". "I'll also take this" he said to the shop girl.
It didn't come cheep though. The total cost was 800 coll, and it hurt his finances, especially since he considered buying a house, but he had to look at it like an investment, better gear meant taking out mobs easier, which meant more money, so it all would pay off in the end.

Zwei left the store, and returned to the inn. It was a little walk, but for the first time he actually relaxed a bit, maybe it was the environment, he didn't know. But he knew that he liked it. So he took his time, and when he reached the inn, he went straight to bed, looking for a good night sleep.

The bustling crowd forced Vyse down the narrow streets. He was quickly swept far away from where he had been dropped and the busy streets became narrow back-alleys. Thankfully, the crowds had thinned enough for him to move. Clumsily he pushed his way over to the side of the street and leant against the wall. Above the cobbled alleyways shadows darted between buildings as players made full use of the cities wire walkway. "That would be much easier," he thought to himself as another shadow flitted overhead.

The sun was setting and the big city started to show signs of slowing down as its occupants retired to hotels and inns for the night. Thinking he should do the same, Vyse began to wander the streets in search of an inn. Not wanting to be disturbed by strangers or the noise of the city, he took his search down some darker avenues and eventually found a small inn, tucked between two plain looking townhouses. The exterior of the building was the same as most others around it; grey concrete walls with a simple wooden frame and roof. Above the door hung a painted wooden sign that read «The Bee and Barb». Once inside, Vyse was greeted with the smells of honeyed mead mixed with the smokey aroma emanating from the small fireplace in the corner. As he approached the counter, a stocky man appeared through a door on the other side of he bar and welcomed him. Vyse asked for a room for the night, and before retiring for the night, also bought a bottle of mead.

The room had come cheap, and when Vyse opened the door to his room he saw that it was almost bare. The only furnishings were a bed and bedside table, and a single chair in the corner. "Well, I guess you get what you pay for."
He quickly closed the door and locked it behind him before moving to the chair and sitting down. He began to think about what had happened to him in the last few hours, but before long the thoughts made him uncomfortable. He instead decided to check his inventory to take his mind off of the subject. With a quick swipe of his hand, Vyse opened his menu and began to scroll through his belongings. To his surprise, many of his items were missing, including all his food and a few materials. Confused, he continued to scroll and found that most of the items that were there had some sort of error. He tried to select his weapon, but the name was gibberish and the system refused to accept the item as a weapon. Likewise, his buckler and armour appeared the same. Thankfully, since he had been wearing his armour at the time, it was still equipped, even though the system refused to acknowledge that it was in fact armour. "I'm going to need some new gear then.."

Vyse closed his menu and his thoughts returned to what had transpired between the boss battle on floor 6 and his sudden appearance on floor 7, but soon thoughts turned into dreams as he drifted off to sleep.

Amon casually walked around the busied streets looking for an arms dealer than looked at least partially reputable but couldn't find a single one. It didn't help that he could barely see the signs because of all of the other players rushing around the cramped roads. At least, he assumed they were roads, Amon hadn't seen a car at all. It didn't really surprise him because he was in a game that didn't have any type of vehicles but it did seem different because of how similar it was to a normal looking city aside from some minor details.

Amon kept seeing shadows flicker across the top of his vision as he looked at the signs and every time he looked up to check what it was he didn't see anything. Amon finally looked out of curiosity to see if anything crossed his vision again and for a solid five minutes didn't see anything but then he finally saw something. A player hopping from rooftop to rooftop. He thought it was amazing that a player had thought of that idea, and made so much sense considering how close the buildings were together. Amon had considered trying it but he didn't think he had the agility for it. Even in his new attire he barely any points in his agility skill and didn't want to risk missing a jump and come hurdling down onto some unsuspecting person. "Probably a lot safer for me to just go with the crowd" he sighed as he continued walking along.

After what seemed like an eternity of walking Amon decided to turn in for the night and retire to an inn. There were many fancy inns and Amon decided to check one for how much they cost. After checking the first one for 150 col a night Amon decided it would be better and cheaper to find a smaller one for now. He wandered a bit longer and it started to get dark. Amon didn't really feel like walking around at night and the streets weren't very bright either except for some lights coming from the shops scattered around so he decided to give up and go to the next inn he came to. The next inn he came to wasn't as high class as the ones before but not exactly run down either. He slugged in and found a fair price of 65 col a night.

When he opened the door Amon saw a small room with a queen sized bed in the corner. As he plopped down on his bed for the night he couldn't help but wonder what everybody else was doing tomorrow. He decided to shoot Vyse, Wolf, and Zwei messages to get breakfast in the morning tomorrow. "It's a good thing I'm a heavy sleeper" Amon smiled to himself, "Otherwise one of their responses would probably wake m...". Before Amon could even finish his thought he passed out.

Wolf was clearly a monster in human skin. For a man his size, he was swiftly moving from rooftop to rooftop. Now equipped with brawler gloves instead of an over sized sword, he felt more like a rampaging berserker. The kind that would run in a straight line and demolish everything in its path, including walls. But Wolf grew up to be more agile than that. Back when he was half his current size, parkour was one of his favorite out door pass times.

The sun set and Wolf decided to hit the main roads. From the roof of a two story building, he recklessly jumped off. On the way down, was a rope that led from his building to the next. He grabbed onto that and swung gracefully off of it and landed onto the, now almost empty, walkway. His landing was smoothened out with a tumble and Wolf continued on his search for an Inn.

Catching a glimpse of Vyse walking into a building, Wolf attempted to catch up. Completely ignoring the sign overhead, he entered the Inn. Vyse was already out of sight. "We'll, might as well stay the night here," Wolf thought as he paid his fee and made his way into a room. "I wonder what tomorrow will bring." And with that, he hit the hay, with all of his armor still on, like an idiot.

As nick was walking around town he noticed a monster of a man runing and jumping from rooftop to rooftop and thought to himself "only one person i know brave or is it dumb enough to get that kind of idea..."

Before he knew it he found himself in front of a bridge with a small creek passing underneath it, and beyond that point was the combat area, it looked almost to beatiful for it's purpose.

"not right now" nick said with a grin and walked back into town.

He found himself in front of an inn where he had seen wolf enter a minute ago.

"beats the hell out of nothing" he thought a as he entered the inn abd payed the fee.

The small room had only the bare Essentials, but it was enough, at least that explained the cheap price of the inn.
Nick dropped down onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep, hoping he would have a nice dream instead of the nightmares he's been having recently.

Awoken by the light created by the artificial sun of this world, Wolf noticed a message on the corner of his "screen". It read:

"Yo, rub a dub dub, let's get some grub?"- Is what he wanted it to say. What it really asked is:

"You guys down to eat together tomorrow morning? We could go over our plans then."

Wolf hasn't really thought about what to do next except that at these stages of the game, they should probably grind up some levels or they might easily get one-shot by the bosses. Mid game, it's not really as much of a problem and late game requires high amounts of grinding but at floor 7 of 100, Wolf figured this would be considered early game.

He replied in a way only he could:

"Food is the only thing I live for, that way, I'll never reach the bad end."

Only half satisfied with his answer, he sent it anyways. Wolf left the Inn at that point. Looking at the time, it was very early in the day. He was the kind of person who couldn't sleep with a light on. If the light in the hallway was lit, he had to turn it off or block the light with something. In a way, that made him more of a morning person since the sun woke him up everyday.

The hungry giant booked it for no reason. Climbing up the sides of the buildings, he made his way across the rooftops. This was fun. Pure fun. He dashed effortlessly until he found a restaurant with a name to my likings. The store was named <<Okawari>>. It meant seconds, as in, another plate of food please. It was perfect. Wolf was definitely ready to have seconds. With that thought in mind, Wolf sent the location to the others, even those he haven't contacted in a while. "Let's try at this plate one more time."

Morning arived sooner then nick had expected, awoken by the light of the sun he opened his eyes and saw a couple of
notificatons on his display.

One was to get something to eat, the other was a reply from wolf and a location on where to meet.

"This'll be interesting" nick thought as he got out of bed and equiped his leather armor.

With a giant yawn he opened the door to his room and left the inn.

Walking down the streest he saw a lot of activity more and more players had arived in this floor,
but none of them seemed familiar so nick kept on walking, he didn't want to keep the others waiting.

When nick arived at the location wolf had sent him he saw a shop called <<Okawari>>.

nick smiled and muttered "alright, let's see what this brings."

To his suprise wolf was the only person there.

"Looks like i'm early." Nick said and sat down next to wolf.

"Long time no see.." Nick said to wolf and ordered a plate of food.
