Kaito sees Wolf leave the restaurant. Kaito quickly finishes the rest of his omelet is about to sprint out the door when the male waiter comes over and places food at Wolf's absent seat. Shaking his head, Kaito asks the male waiter to change the order into items so he could transfer it to Wolf later. The male waiter disappears, and a few minutes later the female waitress comes out and lays out the pixilated versions of the food before him. Kaito swipes his hand into the small pixels and they are automatically transferred into Kaito's inventory. Kaito heads out into the busy street. Outside he looks around for the forest, but only sees a huge crowd of people. 'It'd be nice if I could walk on walls,' Kaito thinks to himself. He tries to run up the wall. He goes up one meter before his feet detract from the wall, and he falls onto his back. After getting more col, he would surely buy some new boots that can grip to side surfaces. He looks for another way up. This time there was no ladder in sight, but there was some shops in the middle that could be used to get onto the roofs.

He goes up one quickly and gets on the tarp. He takes a running start and leaps onto the roof. Immediately he glances at one of the exit gates. He pulls up the news he got yesterday and sees the mapped areas so far. The area so far explored was little, and didn't show the exact locations of certain areas like the one that Wolf mentioned. He heard some rumors of a good training area but so far it wasn't mapped yet. He yells down to the pedestrians down below.
"Hey, where is the <Trees of the Forest>?"
Someone below speaks up to him.
"It's not a place, its just the surrounding area!"

Since it isn't just an area, he assumes its the place he explored before. He heads in that direction and in ten minutes, he arrives at the gate and heads into the forest. He doesn't see Wolf yet, so he decides to slay some monsters before he arrives.

Luckily there's gigantic birds flying in the air. They soon descend upon him. Kaito pulls out his katana. He raises his sword above his head, ready to strike the bird. The blade feels warm in his hands. He notices a bright light coming from above. He's confused because this action never activated a sword skill. It charges fully as the birds are a few meters above.

<Flying Phalkin> appears above their heads as he looks at them. Two in total. As they get closer, Kaito stances himself in a forward position, ready to strike these birds down to the ground. They draw closer and closer. 3 meters. 1 meter. 2 feet. Kaito jumps toward them. He slams his katana down upon one of them, causing an intense electric spark to emit from the sword and gravity seems to shift to the sword. A lightning effect sound hits his eardrums and burns the atmosphere. As the bird slams into the ground and Kaito's katana finishes by touching the ground also. A large explosion explodes from the earth and knocks the other Phalkin into a nearby tree. A paralysis effect triggers on both birds, and yellow little lightning bolt symbols flow along their seared feathers.

Kaito doesn't hesitate. He slashes the first Phalkin and it dies. The stroke though was unusually slow. He tries to approach the other Phalkin by running, but in reality he seems to be running in place for every step. Before getting halfway to the monster, the Phalkin dusts itself off and flies away leaving behind a trail of feathers effect.

A window pops up now, and shows 500 exp and 48 col. No dropped items show below.

Kaito can't believe the new powerful ability, but he is disappointed in the slowing effect. He looks through his skills to find the new skill under his list of skills.

After looking at the skill list, he decides to close it, and wait for the others at the designated meeting place. It only takes him a few minutes, but he finds nobody there yet.
"Looks like I'm first person here."

Kaito leans against the tree and uses its bark to slide down slowly to the ground. He pulls up the equipment screen and applies an item in the headgear slot. He presses confirm and a green and brown hunting hat slowly materializes on top of his long silky black hair. His deep black eyes start to close, and he dozes off with the wind delicately blowing into his ears. 'It seems peaceful,' Kaito thinks before drifting off into a semi-conscious sleep. Any noise now would wake him up, but now he would rest until the others arrived.

Black was lying on his back on the ground. He had been hiding in the combat areas of several floors for some time now. He didn't even go into town now except to transport to the next floor then he was gone again. Whenever he needed to do a shopping run he would ask his friend to do it. She had joined a group but she didn't mind coming to see him for a night. Sometimes they would stay up trading stories, sometimes they would do more intimate things but she was always gone by the time the sun came up. It was a lonely life but he was happy, he was strong and most important, he was getting closer to his wife's killer.

As he laid on his back he got a message, opening it was from his friend. She had heard that an entire town had just gone quiet. There were rumors that anyone who went there was cursed and died. She wanted him to check it out before it caused panic and stopped people from leaving the safe areas.

He sighed lightly, and then sent a message back to her just containing one word, "sure". He checked his contacts to see who he would be able to contact if he needed help. Noticing that his friends list was much shorter then what it had been he was greatly saddened it was to be expected but it still hit him hard. He had lost more friends, and he would lose more before they got out of this game. Thinking on it he decided to send a message to them a bit later when he had more information. There was probably going to be a fight and he wanted them to be fresh when they came, though he doubted it would be too long before he would have to call them. Like Kirito had said a while back in the first boss room, there is only so much one person can do alone.

Slowly he got out of the tree he had been using as a home base and prepared to go to the new town. He passed a lake that he had been beside and caught his reflection in the glass surface of the water. He now looked more like an elf then a human. All of his clothes were muted shades of green or brown. He had a green cloak that had since long faded and had the occasional rip in it. He wore a green under shirt and pants that only fared slightly better than his cloak, and with it he had brown leather for equipment. He had long since changed his fighting style since the early days with his wife. Now he was probably as close to an elf in game as one could be with no race. He even had a brown balaclava that he wore on cold nights or when he was hunting prey, be it monsters or men. Checking his blade that he had diagonally across his back it was still securely there he then patted down all the throwing blades he had secreted about his person and set off towards town for the first time in over a month. The only evidence he was there a ripple in the water and the soft footsteps as he walked into the bush.

A black stealthy bird flies over the sleeping Kaito. It descends to him, cautiously jumping towards him to see if he moved. Kaito breathes deep in and out. The bird gets a few inches away and begins its curiosity. It pecks the bag next to Kaito. It opens its mouth and begins to pull at the seams of it, trying to drag it away. Kaito drowsily wakes up and looks to his left to find a small, little, bird that resembled a raven trying to steal his valuables. He slowly brings his leg up, not to disturb it, and suddenly turns his body back and kicks it with his extended foot. The small bird gets knocked abruptly into the tree that Kaito was leaning against and gets paralyzed from collision against the bark. Satisfied Kaito knocks the bird away and leans back against the tree, nodding off after a few minutes.

"Quest completed." The message appeared above the NPC's head as Wolf remembered something important. He had sent the message to meet, but a simple quest got in his way, stalling him from reaching the meeting point. Wolf gained a few Col and some health potions but nothing of real significance.

The giant man stopped briefly at the town exit. Not many people ventured out of town, but from the ones that did, had a very determined look upon their face. Hard working warriors brought ease to Wolf as he took the first couple of steps outside of town.

There was so much to explore that Wolf simply followed the dirt road which seemed to lead nowhere. From there he spotted two flying monsters heading towards the forest. The colossal soldier followed them hoping that they would lead him to another person. Wolf heard noises in the hollowed out trees besides him. He had to discontinue his pursuit. Several Beaffers gathered around him. Four of them were present, a number surprisingly small in his eyes. Wolf assumed his fighting stance, raising his new weapon style, the gauntlet, to cover his face. To match his rather plain looking brawler gloves, he also had a pair of greaves around his shins. These weapons were nothing like the giant two handed sword in his inventory but it's a style he likes to use.

...

Those monsters were tougher than Wolf expected. They took up plenty of his time, but he quickly resumed his pursuit. From this point, he just had to keep traveling in the direction he was originally going.

Wolf came across a tree noticeably thicker than the ones around it. He figured that would be a great meeting point. As the monster sized human approached said tree, he came across a raven like bird struggling to fly away. It perched upon the man's shoulder, but he thought nothing of it and came to a clearing. He was beaten to the meeting point that he was about to make. The familiar face laid against the tree.

No more stalling. Wolf was back into the combat area. He wasn't going to hide in the towns anymore. He is going to fight to his last breath.

Kaito notices a great presence about 3 meters from him. He wondered if it was another beast so he pulled his katana slightly out of its sheath. With a metal click the weapon is unstuck from its sheath. He looks at the new presence, but realizes its Wolf. Kaito stretches a bit while standing up and walks toward Wolf.

"Hey, what took you so long?"
He just remembered the items on him and quickly pulls out Wolf's breakfast, which is still somewhat warm.
"Here, you forgot this."
He tries to hand Wolf his forgotten breakfast.

"Here, you forgot this."

The player before him handed him the food he ordered at the restaurant. Wolf thought back a couple of steps. He wondered how on earth he forgot to eat breakfast. There was an imbalance in the world causing the human food destroyer, to not destroy food. Could it have been something emotional? Wolf will never know. From here, he will only be able to move forward.

"Thanks," the oversized man accepted the items. Wolf scanned the area. He looked up at the tree that stood high above the rest. It was a beautiful tree, so real that Wolf almost forgot he was within a game. The half smile came to his face as he slowly loses more and more hope for getting out of here.

As the floors go by, the front line warrior notices as the people and friends around him, begin to disappear. It was only seven floors in, but so many lives were already lost.

"I can't die, Wolf," a female voice spouted from his memories. "I have people waiting for me, outside of this game." Her words were forever engraved within him.

"Taiga," the human giant mumbled to himself. He shifted gears. It was time to act.

Nick woke up in the room he had rented.
He looked at the date and saw that he had slept more then a day.

"Must have been exhausted..." He thought as he equiped his weapons and armor.

When he exited the inn he saw the streets we're as crowded as ever.
He was never a fan of big crowds so he made his way to the combat area as fast as he could.

He noticed a message had been sent to him while he was sleeping.
Wolf had sent that to the entire group, to meet at the Trees of the Forest.

When he found his way to the designated spot he saw wolf and a new player.
He heard about him from amon but didn't catch his name.

"Yo, wolf. Long time no see." Nick said while aprouching the duo.
"You must be the new player i heard so much about, name's nick, nice to meet you." Nick said to the new player.

"You must be the new player I heard so much about. Name's Nick, nice to meet you." Nick said to the new player.

"Kaito. I am a solo player that just joined the front lines."

Kaito looks at this new face that has appeared before him and tries to recall if he has seen this guy before. He thinks to when he first arrived at the 7th floor, a huge man, and a small figure were running along the rooftops. He looks at the clothing that this 'Nick' is wearing. It matches the figure he saw on that first day.

"Oh you're that guy who was losing in that race against Wolf, right? That was you?"

Kaito is only joking around with this guy, since he really did not know it was a race until Wolf told him as a side conversation during their breakfast. Kaito opens up his inventory and stores the green and brown hunting hat back into his inventory. Immediately the hat disappears from view from the back of his neck. He then looks at Wolf, seeming to expect that Wolf would handle explaining why they were called here other than just training.

Black approached the outskirts of the town that he had been sent to recon. The smell of trees and grass surrounded him as he stealthily approached a half wall that seemed to indicate the start of the town. It was so quiet, not even the sound of npc's walking around stirred the air. Crawling as if a sniper bullet would end his life any moment he crawled and finally got to the spot he had spent the last couple of hours trying to get to. What he saw was not quite what he expected.

In the center of a small yard sat a woman in what appeared to be a night gown sitting in the grass. Behind her there was a beast of a man with a sword that looked to dwarf those of most men. Just looking at him was enough to realize that this was no ordinary situation. Sitting on the wall near him was a small man, and he unlike the first man had no obvious weapons. This meant that he was dangerous. He was smart not to give away what fighting style he used and was either cautious or paranoid. Either one was not good news. Other then just the two guys there wasn't a sight of anyone around.

That meant either they didn't expect company, or this was a trap. Being on the cautious side himself he decided that it was time to call in the big guns.

Black backed down a bit so that his motion wouldn't be seen from the two men and he sent a message to wolf, the unofficial leader of the little gang that had been around what seemed like ages ago.

"Hey,

Got a side quest for ya, you might like. I think I just found the only guy in SAO that is bigger then ya, and I need you to fight him.

Bring friends and come to Arbres on the 7th level.

This is a limited time offer."

Finished with the message he sent it and slowly backed off. He had requested the help, and if he wanted to he would come and bring whomever was following the guy lately. If not, then he had to come up with a better plan.

Katio looked up at Wolf with eyes that pried for an explanation.

"Well, shall we get to group training now?" The hulk began. "Rather than relying on one's own power, it is important to take account the power of your allies. Ally skill sets may help in situations where one's own set wouldn't. For example-" Just then, Wolf received a message. "Just a sec," he viewed the simple report and a hint of a smile appeared upon his face.

"Change of plans," Wolf said as he began to send a mass mail to his friends list. "Onward to the Arbres." Wolf looked around at his map to see if it had updated enough to find this place. "Let's make haste." Finding the target location, Wolf led the charge through the forest. "Let's avoid fighting for now. Kaito, could you focus your detection to the left. Nick, yours to the right. Any monsters in front of us, we gather to take them down. Don't split up. Keep pace. And don't expect us to not run into any monsters at all. That would just be too easy." After a few seconds of running. "Ready your weapons, we have company."

Kaito tries something new. He runs at a tree. He climbs the tree with his feet and kicks off at the maximum height allowed. He flies into a backflip and lands onto the lowest branch and sticks his landing. He spreads his hands out as he lands there. He notices the others glancing his way, but they're only looking at his skill, which this show of luck wouldn't prove. He dashes forward, a little ahead of Wolf and Nick and meets head on with a row of monsters on the next tree branch.

Kaito pulls out his gleaming katana, its blue radiance reflects the ice like color onto the surrounding wood. Kaito jumps over the row of monsters. He holds his katana down and swaying it left to right, knocks each of them off the next branch. Two of them land in front of Wolf, and the other two land below him.

"Your kills!" Kaito shouts to the towering figure of Wolf.

Kaito proceeds ahead at his maximum speed, jumping along the path of linked branches. He continues at this speed for 30 minutes constantly knocking the monsters on the branches known as <Belittling Beetles> onto the ground. He doesn't care if he kills them. He does send alert report messages to Wolf and Nick. They are too weak to be a bother. He only cares about becoming stronger. To be stronger than his enemies means to be able to terminate the game. He needs to get back to that world. He cannot wait for someone else to clear the game. He must become stronger for others. He cannot rely on others' strength to preserve his own. His will must carry him to his goal of the 100th floor.

Kaito stops on a branch, seeing that the trees end, and the area opens up to reveal a plain with a town in the center. A wood gate, 3 meters high goes around the vicinity, while a stone platform rests at the top. He could barely see the farthest building in the town over the tall gate. He spots a guy on top of the stone platform holding no weapons in sight and is staring into the town. He wonders what this strange person is looking at and proceeds toward the town's outer wall.

Amon didn't remember the last time he had gone weapons shopping. "The last time I got a new weapon seemed like forever ago, back when I was into that Captain America phase going shield only" he laughed to himself. " Let's see... What do we have here?" Amon walked into an arms dealer that looked very clean and professional. He looked around the very large shop seeing many other players browsing weapons. Amon walks up to the merchant and asks him "Hey, do you have any odd kind of weaponry?" The merchant gives him a shady look and goes to the back of the store. He comes back with a giant weapon that was covered in cloth. "It's name is 'The Last Sweep'." Amon checks the stats of the weapon, they were phenomenal. "How much?" Amon questions and the merchant replies with a ridiculous price somewhere above 700 col. Amon kind of lets out a sigh and asks for it to be lowered a bit. Amon offers 350 col. The merchant seemed to be offended by the offer and was about to put the weapon in the back of the shop. Amon yelled at him to wait and offered 500 col. The merchant smirks and agrees. Amon takes his new weapon and swings it around. The odd weight distribution of it made it hard for him to get used to it at first. Amon was very happy with his purchase.

Amon messaged wolf to meet him at the training grounds for some sparring with his new weapon. Amon and Wolf had always had a "friendly rivalry" and they always tried to one up each other in battle. Amon thought that he had finally found something to "1 up" the beast of a man. After waiting for what seemed like ages Amon was starting to get pissed off. "Wolf was supposed to be here half an hour ago! What is taking him so long?" Amon practiced on the dummies so that he felt at least moderately capable with his new weapon. Then Amon heard a ding.

Amon checked his message, it was from Wolf. "Onward to the Arbres" it read. "This better be good Wolf." Amon mutters as he accepts the quest and group invitation. His map updates and he sees a new name in the group. It read Kaito. "It looks like Nick and Wolf made a friend" Amon put his weapon away and charged after them. About half way through to the group he saw that they were under attack and that Kaito had started to run away from the battle. "What kind of player abandons his group?" Amon thought as he continued running towards his friends. "I really need to get sprint as a skill."

As Amon got there he saw that Nick and Wolf had dealt with the enemies and were about to take off after Kaito. "Yo." was all Amon needed to say before he saw Wolf and Nick smile. "So what's with the new guy? I go out alone for a couple of days and you guys replace me?" Amon laughed.

Kaito used his speed to distance himself from his allies. That wasn't wise, but he could also use it to return to his allies if necessary. As several weak monster practically fell from the sky, Wolf grabbed one of the two <Belittling Beetles> and rammed it into the other one. It only took a swift roundhouse kick to clear them at the same time.

Wolf knew his specialty. He was prominent with his crowd control and can maintain great mobility in close combat. He is best suited for destroying monsters in the masses rather than one on one battles. Although he is a decent duelist, other players, mostly faster ones, can out duel the massive berserker. Wolf's weakness is his slow start compared to most, but he picks it up by having a great momentum that matches even the fastest players. Once Wolf picks up speed, there is almost no stopping the rampaging bulldozer.

"Kaito-" Wolf because but was interrupted by a very familiar voice.

"Yo," Amon conversed to the three of them. "So what's with the new guy? I go out alone for a couple of days, and you guys replace me?" His laughter was reassuring and Wolf was glad to have a partner, who he is so in sync with, back on his team.

"Sorry I left you hanging," Wolf began. "But I-" He was interrupted once more. This time it was a result from 6 Flying Phalkins. They circled above the group clearly inviting them to battle. "Heh, let's show this guy what our team is made of."

Wolf positioned himself towards Amon and cupped his hands together. With a hunched position, he knew that Amon understood the current battle tactic. It was their favorite attack with a great success rate. Six monsters. Four players. No big deal.

Black could hear the sounds of a running battle slowly moving towards the town. Still hiding on the top of the gate he really hoped that the guys in the town didn't hear the racket that was coming through the trees. He just hoped that they didn't do something really stupid like start throwing each other into the air for some crazy reason and give away their exact position.

Black could hear the sounds of more people coming into the square, only two or three but enough to make him feel like his call for aid was the smart move. Slowly he backed up further from the edge and equipped his blade. It was unique in many ways, one way was that the cutting portion of the blade was all black. This made it especially useful at night time. There were also a couple other features but those were mainly combat focused. Recently he had started to notice the fancier a blade was, the quicker it broke and with the heavy use that his weapons saw, he wanted to avoid that for as long as possible. Slowly getting into the crouching position he readied himself to jump down and help the group if they needed it.

And need it they will, as the front gate of the village slowly opened he heard the footsteps of the biggest man come closer and then stop. Risking a glance Black looked over the edge and saw the big man had placed himself smack dab in the middle of the front gate. Smiling to himself he backed off and went towards the town square. He would just leave that guy as a present to Wolf when he finally got here.

Kaito notices the loud noises of monsters being smashed into pieces. He's already a quarter of the distance to the town, and he decides to return back to the trees of the forest. He ghosts between the trees with ease and ends up at the group's location in 10 minutes. He takes notice of the situation, seeing that Wolf is surrounded by 6 <Flying Phalkins> and that he is busy against knocking around the dwarf beetles. Kaito looks up into the trees, searching for a strike position. He finds one tree's branches hanging crudely over the Phalkins' heads. He should be able to annihilate two of them with one ability if he got the perfect chance. Thinking of this short planned scenario, he leaps up into the trees once again, and swiftly reaches the certain tree.

He jumps at the last second his left foot touches the hard bark of the huge tree and jumps up the highest he can before raising a blue, shining katana up into the air for a overhead strike. His blade glows golden as the blade warms up in his virtual hands. It finishes the charge, and Kaito brings it down onto the head of one Phalkin. The other gets hit by the immense force of the stunning ability. Both Phalkins hit the ground before the blade drowns the forest with a huge explosion sound effect with the cutting edge touching the ground. The two Phalkins go flying into the air from the impact, and the one that got hit directly shatters into polygons, while the other is blown away 8 feet away from the circle of trees. Kaito lands next to Wolf, who seems aggravated from fighting these strong evading enemies for 10 whole minutes. Kaito is instantly slowed from the brute force of the magnificent earthquake caused by the ability.

As Kaito turns slowly to confront the other Phalkins hovering in the air.

Kaito says one simple word to release the surprise of a sudden appearance. "Switch!"

Kaito uses his skill <Fast Hands> to switch quickly to his sidearm. He swings it in a infinity circle to test his stroke. The new weapon is shaped like a dagger, but with its huge head, it is a knife used against other weapons. With this, even if Wolf didn't <switch> he would still be able to block the great talons of the four birds hovering together. He knows Wolf may be mad for him moving ahead, but now he needed to concentrate on these new enemies that flew in front of him. He could only move at half speed now, and could not attack for at least 30 seconds. With him in the party, Wolf and Kaito couldn't both attack the birds at the same time. A <Switch> would be necessary to proceed with the onslaught of the Phalkins.

Kaito looks at the 5 remaining Phalkins, and sees that the paralysis explosion has only affected one other Phalkin. The rest were out of range of the blast radius. He glances to see the first person he met on the 7th floor, Amon. He nods to the man behind him.

"Hey."
