Amon had just met up with Nick and Wolf to continue on their way to where the quest was located when they were all attacked by 6 phalkins. They were all relatively low level, and didn't have any irregular flight patterns. It would be easy to take them down. Amon looks up, wondering how in the world he would get up to the birds in the first place when he seems another player swoop down from above the monsters and take two out. The player wielded a blue katana, something very rare since the only way to wield one was through a quest on the second floor. He seemed very agile and reminded him a lot of Nick. The player, Kaito whom Amon had seen run ahead before seemed to have cirlced back after the monsters showed up.

Amon was trying to think of a way to show off to the new guy when he looked over to Wolf. Amon immediately showed off a huge grin as Wolf hunched down with his fists together. Amon let out a bellowing laugh then crouched down like a man would if he was starting a race and then bolted towards Wolf. Amon thought about taking out his new weapon mid-air to show off but decided it would be flashier to use his fists instead. Amon steped up onto Wolf's fists and was instantly launched into the air directly into the remaining phalkins. Amon launches past the phalkins, above the tree line and sees a town close by. On the way down Amon roared <Titan's Fist> and he stretched out both of his arms into two of the phalkins, taking both of them with him back to the ground. Amon threw his arms forward like he was about to give a bear hug as he hit the ground and destroyed the monsters turning them into pixels. With pixels floating and disappearing around him Amon laughed "I love that move. Works every time".

As only three monsters remained, two of which were in the air, and the other was closer to the ground. Wolf left the paralyzed one to either Nick or Kaito. The reason being was that the remaining two began to rocket down.

"Get out of its way," Wolf warned as he flew backwards. It was easy to counterstrike an enemy moving in one direction, but getting hit by them would cause too much damage for little reason. The best option was to wait out its attack and strike once its idle. To Wolf's surprise, only one of them hit the ground hard enough to be locked into it. The other dodged the surface just enough to fly back into the air.

Wolf took this opportunity to strike the weaker one. His fists glowed a moonlight white. Wolf felt himself connect with the monster. Flying at a scary speed, Wolf bashed the monster with two fists that would normally cause it to fly away. Instead, Wolf immediately followed up with a two fist down pound. The monster bounced against ground so hard that it went above Wolf's head.

The monstrous human then planned to launch it at its own comrade but the flying phalkin morphed into tiny pixels instead. He ruined his own combo by doing too much damage. In some games, monsters that normally fight in groups, run once they are the last one standing. Wolf was hoping that this one would leave them be once one of our swifter players takes out this paralyzed monster.

Amon had re-joined the group and they we're in combat.
Kaito was a small way off from the group luring more monsters towards them,
throwing them at wolf and amon for them to finish off.

Amon had been launched into the air and used a skill to take down three, one of them was still on the ground paralyzed.
Two of them where still in the air.

Nick saw his chance to attack the one that was paralyzed.
"Savage Leap!" He yelled and almost flew towards the <Belittling Beetle> taking out in one strike.
He looked behind him to see how the others faired.

"Get out of its way!"
Wolf yells to me as the two Phalkins come spiraling down toward the two. He sees Wolf knock down the slightly paralyzed one that comes crashing down. The other Phalkin is swooping down at him at full speed. Kaito only has one chance to block this attack. He must get a parry in to deflect the talons of the large bird. His arm moves so sluggishly. The bird gets closer by 2 meters. Kaito has only two more seconds left before they clash and his arm is only halfway between the positioning for the <parry>.

He bares his teeth and puts strength in his arm. It feels like 10,000 tons are keeping him from moving his arm. He uses his front step to bring the arm up. Almost there... he thinks as the hand with the weapon <saxe knife> is almost in position to deflect the <Flying Phalkin>.

At the last second. A talon appears before his eyes and hits his arm, along with the saxe knife aside as if it were nothing. Kaito instantly is off-balance and the Phalkin has its claws aimed for his chest. He could not get the parry in on time, and now he would be killed in this instant. He regrets it. He regrets not being strong enough. He regrets not being able to support his nakama into getting out of this hell game. The sharp claws pierce his chest, and Kaito is sent flying backward toward a tree. Kaito flies twisted with his arm still out and his body flying in another direction. This unnatural extension, puts tension and pain on his bones. It feels like the arm will snap into two. He lands smack into the tree, his back taking the impact. He cringes and spits saliva out of his mouth as the wind is knocked out of him. His body lands on the ground smoothly.

Kaito on the ground lays unmoving and checks his arm for any major damage. Of coarse there is none, since the game prevents any injures from occurring within this virtual world. He moves his head slowly to see the rest of the players' battles, and it seems they have won. The rest of the Phalkins have crumbled to dust, except the one that attacked him. He feels lousy for letting one pesky bird defeat him in front of his nakama. He aims the saxe knife he's holding up into a throwing position. The bird looks at him as prey. As it is on the ground, now is the time to strike it with a killing blow. He hurls the saxe knife at the <Flying Phalkin> as it begins to lift off of the earthly ground. The saxe knife rips through the air with its sharp edge. It heads toward its target. The Phalkin is still lifting off the ground when in its chest, a knife juts itself into the feathers of the bird.

With that alone, the bird wouldn't die, but something miraculous happened.

<Lucky Strike> appears above the knife and shows onto the birds chest. Since <lucky strike> has a chance to deal critical damage as well as allow a drop rate of 2% more, this killed the Phalkin.

Satisfied that he avenged his loss, he releases the tension from the lucky throw. In the distance, a whole pack of 9 more <Flying Phalkins> approaches. The alert message Kaito sent, indicated that there was at least 20 more coming of Phalkins after that along with 22 damaged <Belittling Beatles> that Kaito had angered into coming after him. He did evade them with no curiosity, but now they have caught up to him, and now face the three others in front of him.

Kaito gets up 5 seconds later to find that the side effect of the <Thundering Rumble> ability he used has worn off. He prepares himself for the worst outcome.

"At least there is more money now that a whole flood is coming at us," Kaito laughs before rejoining the fight. Checking his health at 60 capacity.

With an incoming horde of monsters, Kaito brushed off the tension by saying, "at least there is more money now that a whole flood is coming at us." Kaito, a higher damage per second dealer, must watch his positioning during long battles because each little hit matters upon him. Unlike Nick and Kaito, Amon and Wolf play the opposite game. The two players can withstand more damage and takes a particular specialty at moving enemies around, those that aren't boss monsters of abnormal sizes.

"We'll handle the aggro, take care not to take too much damage," Wolf began. "Stick close. Venture even meters away from us and that may be your life. Once their numbers reduce to single digits, feel free to stray as far as you please. For now, stay within feet of me."

Wolf warned the others of the simple dangers. He knew they were already aware of how to fight, but a quick reminder could save a life. He looked at the others. As the monsters drew closer Wolf knew that he had to find a way to eliminate the monsters in one sweep. He had multiple options pop into his head at that very moment.

The first option was to activate <<howl>> and attract all of the monsters towards him so that the rest can hit multiple enemies in one stroke. That may be effective, but it was too dangerous for little reward.

His second option was to backpedal constantly as one unit. This would ensure that only few monsters could reach them at a time but this was also time consuming but very safe.

His third option was to run. He wasn't going to do that.

His fourth option was also his final one. He had to find the perfect balance between safe and fast. "River?" The sound of flowing water alerted Wolf to his final plan. Divide and Conquer. It was a medium risk, high reward plan. "Kaito stick with me. Nick stick with Amon. We'll distract the birds while you finish off the Beetles." The health bars of the <Belittling Beetles> weren't full resulting in the possible one to two shots that it will take to kill them. "Kaito, we don't fight. We lead them to wherever the water takes us.

The risk of moving away from this area was that more monsters may show up, but only so many monsters can spawn in one area, so the risk of that was lowered. "Take two out on your way up." Wolf dashed forward to what looked like his own death. The brawler did a floor sweep and instantly destroyed two, low hp, beetles. He would've taken more out but they began to surround him, making him jump past a Flying Phalkin and into the trees. Wolf's job wasn't to fight, it was to stall. If the Flying Phalkins were busy chasing, they would be wasting time where they could be attacking instead.

In the trees, they could probably take out 5-10 of them before they hit their destination point. Him and Amon were better wave clearers than duelists, he trusted in Amon's and Nick's strength. As Wolf landed on a branch, he nodded to Amon before he took off with Kaito. "Stick close," Wolf wasn't shouting anymore. It was a calm low voice. "Dividing the enemy is more important than dividing ourselves. I bet we could take these guys out before they take those guys out."

He was jumping through the trees. Wolf was glad he was swift, otherwise, he would've have made this plan.

As Kaito proceeds forward toward the new horde of monsters, he sees Wolf backing up, his face in deep concentration. He wonders what he is doing, but he answers right after that thought.

"We'll handle the aggro, take care not to take too much damage, stick close."

He begins his leader role, first time seen by Kaito. He's like a whole 'nother person, swiftly giving orders to each of his comrades. He points to me.

"Kaito, stick with me."

Kaito understands the plan. Wolf made a good decision. They both start to sprint toward the east, toward the pattering sound of water. He sees two <Belittling Beatles> follow Wolf, but he just turns around and slashes them to bits. Kaito follows Wolf, getting slightly in front, but Wolf passes him in an instant, his speed far exceeds his. Kaito activates a sword skill. He shouts, "Ghost!" A blue light surrounds Kaito, as <ghost> is activated. He notices 5 <Belittling Beetles> a few feet from him. His agility increases by 150%. He quickly glides to the beetles and with two strokes left and right, the beetles fall into desperate polygons. He follows Wolf now, who is already 50 feet ahead. He sprints after him. In 10 seconds, he catches up to him. Kaito reduces his speed, matching his speed to Wolf's. he looks behind him, and sees all 9 <Flying Phalkins> are close behind. Behind them, 11 more are following them. He doesn't see any beetles chasing. They must be fighting Amon and Nick Kaito thought. Both Wolf and Kaito head toward the river beyond the trees to set their trap. In front of them, a flow of water could be seen 500 meters ahead. If they sped up, they could plan further before having the many Phalkins attack them. He looks toward Wolf, and signals that they need to speed up.

Wolf and kaito had jumped into the treeline to distract and take out the Flying Phalkins,
while nick and amon stayed behind to take out the rest of the <Belittling Beetles> .

Nick smiled, 22 <Belittling Beatles>. A great crowd.
Nick wasn't much for crowd control though, he had his speed and agility, but amon was the tank of the duo.

Nick was looking around, with that many enemies, there are bound to be some that are in one line.
and his observation was correct, four of them in one line.

Again a smile crossed his face.

"Amon, i'll take out those four and get behind the main pack, if you can handle the offence from here i can take out a couple from behind." Nick said.
Amon simply nodded as nick's black blade was shining bright blue.
"Horizontal slash"! Nick yelled as he was proppeled to the four targets and took them out in one fell swoop of his attack.
He saw several critical strikes and he was happy to be lucky for now.

He turned around to see 18 beetles surround amon.

"Oh shit!" he muttered hoping amon was as much of a tank as nick gave him credit.

As a massive wave of monsters approached the group Amon knew that fighting them right there was too high a risk. Amon looked to Wolf to devise a strategy and soon enough he had one. Wolf commanded the he and Nick stay to deal with the beetles while he and Kaito diverted the phalkins away. "Sounds like a plan" Amon mumbled under his breath as he took out his new weapon. A brand new scythe that he had gotten a day before Wolf messaged him. Kaito and Wolf had already left by the time he had pulled it out and was determined to survive long enough to get to show it off.

There were 22 belittling beetles in the way and Amon felt a lot more confident with these numbers. He heard Nick call out "Amon, I'll take those four and get behind the main pack." Nick took out four beetles in the back and Amon saw himself surrounded by the remaining 18. <Stone Wall> Amon yelled as the beetles primed their attacks. Amon then shouted <Crescent Sweep> as they lunged from all directions but Amon received minimal damage and they brought his health down to 75% but also knocking most of the beatles away from him and to half health. Amon expertly twirled his scythe around and planted the end into the ground. "Well, if you want some. COME AND GET SOME." Amon howled awaiting the next assault.

After giving the gesture, he uses his <ghost> to accelerate to its highest speed. He looks back to Wolf to see if he's following, but it seems that this new speed of his will be hard to match. Kaito knows that <ghost> will run out soon, so gaining some distance between the Phalkins and them is critical to reduce the minimal damage. He sprints ahead of Wolf, leaving the birds and him playing cat-and-mouse. 100 meters. 80 meters. 60 meters. Kaito's improved agility devours the distance in half after one minute. The river is directly ahead. He reaches the water streaming around his brown leather boots, bringing cold and refreshing wavelengths to his feet.

The cool breeze reflects off the water. If the water was tampered with, it could probably freeze the birds within the air. He thinks of his abilities, but can't think of one that can freeze water in an instant. Since Wolf is a tank, he should be able to shower the birds in icy water, drenching their wings. That would slow them to the point of being immobile; the perfect counterattack plan. He pulls out his blue katana. It shines with the look of dried ice in a tundra, refracting a warm brilliance against the cold water. Their had to be a way to freeze the water, but what could he use? He instinctively touches the shaped, cold blade of the katana, <Sheering Katana>. The blade feels so smooth, like an icicle hanging from a snowy cavern. He tests the ice blade in the freezing water. He looks at the water carefully as he puts the tip of the blade slowly into the water. He pulls the blade carefully out of the water. Something glistens in the sun where the blade once was. He looks closer to discover a new layer of ice has formed in the cavity that once was water before.

Smiling now, he awaits Wolf to tell the plan to effectively massacre the pursuing birds.

20 monsters, Wolf thought. It was simple enough, but he needed a new plan. The river leads to a lake. The trees may suit to be easier if he planned on going aggressive, but the distance between each tree is more suited for travel rather than battle.

He could see hints of the lake in the distance and Kaito had left Wolf behind. Wolf needed to test a few things before going all out on a new monster. As Wolf stepped on the last branch before the clearing, he paused on the branch to turn around.

First, he needed to test their speed. He had to embrace for impact. 4 Phalkins were in an attacking motion, attempting to use speed to strike at him. Wolf used his dominant left hand to punch the first one downwards. That seemed a little to easy, but in the next instant, the next bird got him good in the shoulder. The damage was too low, but it was too fast for him to counterstrike it. As the third one came into arms reach, Wolf jumped backwards, testing its attack distance AI.

Just as he thought, they plan to strike past their target. Which means he could easily lead them where he wants to, if he planned to. The third one, got a clean hit on his other shoulder, just as weak. At this point, Wolf was midair. The fourth one, that went into an attack mode, aimed for Wolf's chest. By this time, he knew exactly what the AI would make it do. It planned to strike a couple feet past its target location, but only forward.

Wolf pulled backwards to attempt to dodge the monster. And just as he thought, it was too fast. It struck him in the chest. The monster had no where to go. Wolf grabbed it, and the force pull him and the monster, into the water. Wolf planned for this. He wanted to see where the monsters would direct to once Wolf left a zone where they would aggress onto him.

As Wolf shattered the beast into tiny polygons, Wolf resurfaced to find something he really didn't like. The monsters still aggro'd the players.

Wolf swiftly returned to land, right next to Kaito. With only 19 left, Wolf looked at Kaito with a clear plan.

"These monsters are fast, but weak. They are hard to dodge and hard to counterstrike. But one thing is certain, they are easy to lead. We can use the water, but that would ultimately lead to our disadvantage if we were to make the slightest mistake. Here is the plan. Once the monsters hit something, they slow down greatly, depending on the target. I need you to be very accurate." Wolf needed to test out his upgraded <howl> anyways. "I'll slow them down, destroy the ones I don't hit. The ones I do hit, leave them, they were the slower ones. We can deal with them later. The fast ones, are the ones that should be normally too fast for the both of us." Wolf's weapon is his fists and feet. That means any enemy attacking him, he would have the fastest reaction based on distance.

"Let's do this," Wolf took a deep breath. Rather than screaming at the top of his lungs, he growled and gave off a rather red aura. <<Growl>> Similar to <<howl>> except within only a small area. The taunt lowers the attack damage of the enemies that fall prey to it, and feel the need to only attack the user. "We got this."

The forest floor was damp under Vyse's boot, and he was worried that the noise might alert a nearby enemy of his presence. For the last few days, Vyse had been camping out in the combat zone in an attempt to restock his inventory and earn some much needed experience. A twig snapped underfoot, and Vyse flinched at the sound. Anxiously, he held his breath and waited. A few moments passed without so much as a breeze rustling the branches of the giant trees. While his sneak skill was below average, he found it much easier to slay the forests inhabitants if he was able to get the drop on them, and he had learnt to be more cautious. He replayed a previous battle in his mind and shook his head at how reckless he had been. Another branch broke underfoot, but this time it hadn't come from Vyse's boot. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and without thinking, his hand was already on the hilt of his blade. From the low bushes to his right, a pack of «Belittling Beetle» came into view. Vyse drew his sword, and the two parallel curved blades rang softly in eerie quiet of the forest.

Before either party could make a move, a loud noise sounded off in the distance. Was that an explosion? All around the forest Vyse could hear birds and other denizens flee in shock and fear. Vyse turned his attention back to the task at hand, but the beetles had decided to follow suit and fled. Slightly relieved, he turned in the direction of the strange noise. Curious, he decided to investigate.

The branches were a blur as Vyse rushed through the forest. Before long, he could make out strange sounds above the thumping of his boots in the fallen foliage and his labored breathing. Almost there.

When nick landed he saw that amon was surrounded by 18 «Belittling Beetles»,
he had hoped that taking out four would at least generate some aggro on him so
they would switch target to nick.

"Seems like it won't be that simple." Nick muttered under his breath.

He held his trusty one handed sword in his right hand hoping to get the drop
on a couple of beetles before they could attack amon.
But suddenly before nick could make his move he saw something like a small tornado
form in the center of the beetle pack where amon stood, as nick stood there dumbfounded he thought to himself.
Never piss of amon, as he saw beetles flying around with their HP cut in half.

He saw one heading towards himself, disoriented.
Before the beetle could land nick cut it apart and in that shower of polygons he thought of a quick plan to get back to center stage.

The tree next to him was at least 5 meters high, he could climb in it and use his savage leap to target a beetle in the center pack,
thus covering amons back.

Nick smiled when he thought of that so, for now, he sheathed his sword and quickly reached the highest point
in the tree.

When he looked in the center he saw amon wielding a scythe.
Nice weapon. Nick thought when he saw it.
Might be good enough to handle this crowd on his own, but nick never abandoned a friend.

He unsheathed his black sword and looked around to find the best target.
Amon was holding his own against the beetles but he left his back wide open to attack, something one beetle saw and choose to attack.
Nick jumped and activated the skill savage leap.

The beetle was only a couple of inches away from finishing it's attack when nick landed and sliced it in half.
"I got your back amon." He said looking towards the pack of beetles that gathered bahind amon.
Should be around 16 left. Nick thought to himself, wondering how wolf and kaito did at the riverside.

Amon saw Nick spring from the brand he had perched at and killed one of the beetles that had wandered too close to him. The remaining beetles started to surround Amon once again and this time Amon didn't have his <crescent sweep> to fall back on for another couple of seconds. Amon wondered how he was going to get himself out when he saw Nick suddenly appear behind him with the particles of a dead beetle surrounding him. "I got your back Amon" he smiled and Amon nodded back with a smile of his own.

"Any ideas Nick?" Amon asked as the beetles were in attack position again. Suddenly Amon and Nick heard an explosion off towards where Kaito and Wolf were fighting the phalkins. The remaining 16 monsters also stopped and looked to where the sound had come from. Suddenly all of the beetles bolted away from the group towards the direction that Kaito and Wolf had went. Amon looked at Nick in shock and bolted after the monsters sending a message to Wolf about the extra company heading his way.

Vyse ducked and a branch whizzed over his head as he rushed through the maze of trees. It had been a few minutes since the explosion had sounded and he was drawing close to where he thought it came from. Curiosity was welling up inside him, and as he got closer to the source of the sound, more and more scenarios as to what he would find began to form in his head. What he found however was something he couldn't have imagined. Vyse skidded to a halt, and his boots dug into the soft forest floor. A «Belittling Beetle» came charging past him and disappeared off into the depths of the forest. Surprised that the beetle hadn't attacked him, and a little confused, Vyse stepped out from between two trees. as he did, he saw more and more beetles charging in the same direction. What in the world...
suddenly, a solid force collided with Vyse's back and sent him tumbling into the dirt. Slightly dazed, he sprung to his feet and drew his weapon. Wheeling around, he expected to find another enemy charging off into the distance, but instead found Amon standing there, rubbing his head.
Before Vyse could say anything, Nick appeared beside Amon.

The ones I do hit, leave them, they were the slower ones. We can deal with them later. The fast ones, are the ones that should be normally too fast for the both of us."

Wolf takes a deep breath and stances himself, "Let's do this,"

Kaito doesn't get to explain his new tactic, but there is no time. In three seconds the Phalkins shall be upon them. He readies his katana. He brings it up into the air in a split second, and the next he crashes the blade into the floor of the shallow lake, causing a great amount of uneven ice to form on the surface. Perfect Kaito thought. The birds are right in front of Wolf.

"Duck!" Kaito yells to Wolf. In one instant Kaito unlocks the formed ice from the lake and sends it flying toward the unaware birds. The shower of freezing cold ice hits the front line of seven directly, covering them in tiny bits of shards. The smaller chunks fly towards the ones in back, hitting them also. The wings start to beat slower than before as if the ice had immense weight added to it. Not looking at Wolf, since he did just hit him with an edge of a ice snowball, he advances toward the ones in back, which included 5 in the 2nd wave, 7 in the 3rd wave, the rest clustered behind, he cuts through the talons of the far right Phalkin in the front line. Using this, he slides below it, immediately jumping up before hitting the second wave.

He uses a <Vorpal Strike> to begin his attack of fury. He puts less force into this forward strike. Hitting the first target, he switches to slashes left and right, cutting up the first one until its at half health. The others are already attacking him, and he jumps back toward the front line, that are dealing with Wolf's <growl>.

He starts his strikes again, using his katana to strike the chasing Phalkins. Six strikes in five seconds allow to kill one Phalkin. He sees one coming up to his left. Kaito shouts, "Fast Hands!" and pulls out a knife at blinding speed, sheathing the katana at the same pace. <Fast Hands> allows the user to switch to his or her side weapon at incredible speed, but doesn't allow them to switch back for 30 seconds. He blocks the sharp claws outstretched for his heart with a clang between weapons. He pushes against the claws and dodges left, allowing the Phalkin to pass right by him. He then stabs the spine of it from behind, knocking it into the front line. The other Phalkins are coming after him left and right. He increases his mental senses with a single breath. Moving his right leg diagonally, he gets between two and double slashes both with a four-strike combo. He then sidesteps the next attack from the right. He brushes against the feathers of the enemy, and loses a bit of health. He gets behind the second line, and is faced with 7 more Phalkins. He completely forgot about them. They all attack at once. He can't dodge all the deadly claws of death. He gets hit by five of them, only being able to not get hit by two. He takes severe damage to the arms, as he blocks.

He can't handle all of these monsters on his own. He'll have to use a sword skill as a countermeasure. He still has his saxe out. He concentrates on the beating of the wings. One.. Two... One.. Two... The wings go in sync to one another, forming a rhythmic set of harmony. He prepares his stance. He crosses his arms, holding the saxe knife out to the left diagonally, pointing it toward a tree. He closes his eyes. He stances into a forward position, bending both of his legs equally. A dark aura seems to come from nowhere, the knife converts to a dark purple. His black eyes open, with a new hate toward these monsters. It shows no fear, only anger shows toward these simple beings. He breaks his stance and performs an intense series of cuts against the third line, slicing through all seven. All seven have their health reduced to 50%. He ends up far left of them. The birds are as confused as he is. What just happened?
