Have you guys seen Free! and Kuroko no basket?
Man the art in those animes are unbelievably good and awesome. The story for Kuroko no basket is great and the same for Free! so far. Really can't wait for season 2 of Kuroko no basket and upcoming episodes for FREE!!!>:DSAO
Do you guys know any other animes similar to the art shown in both these animes?

I've seen free and have to agree the art is beautiful! Unfortunately I've only seen a few episodes of kuroko no basket, I lost interest, but I might pick it up again if it's as great as you described

you haven't seen good anime have you?

sports anime has the most potential to get nowhere. There is a huge dependency for sports animes to be on the extremas given the limited amount of episodes.

Examples: Chihayafuru is too much about the sports not enough of the relationships.

Free! too much "stuff" and not enough about the swimming.

A better anime example of a "good sports" anime is: Slam Dunk, and Hajime no Ippo, why? Because they are both very long 101 and 75 +s2 of 26 eps episodes, respectively (and a few movies). I don't want to ask anyone on CR about Free! (because I'll get my ass flamed), but if you take away the Kyoto animation studio and the comedy and strip (bad word) down to its story, it isn't new, it certainly has been attempted before.

I question Free! not because of the service it provides but integrity that most everyone compromises that Free! is a good anime because of animation and art. You can have bad animation and art and have a great story, take Aku no Hana as the prime example many raged at it's rotoscope but those who found it interesting is because of the story not how it was delivered.

flame me, I could of mentioned hyouka ( did and got flamed)

Free! and Chihayafuru are two sports anime that I'm enjoying the most. 5 out 5 stars for both anime in my CR review

It's funny because when I saw the poster for Chihayafuru, I was like, "Not another shoujo love anime..." and for Free! I thought "This is going to be boring"... but they turned out to exceed my expectations xD

Well Free!! is not a sport anime now is it?

Kuroko no Basket is based on a manga while Free is from a light novel . I would say the production has more artitstic control on Free and the writing is really well done ...so far...aside from the high quality animation.

The manga on Kuroko is not too bad but man its all about tournament after tournament and against some bad ass players lol

First I am confused? Is this about Artwork,Plot or sports? So I will go by the Thread Title! I also think this has been done before! So!

I still like and love all the older anime I stated with.Ghost In the Shell, Sailor Moon etc.But the quality of the artwork is amazing nowadays. The quanity of anime is amazing also. Plots are good and bad as always however recently Love Lab(comedy) Pyscho Pass(Sci-Fi) have been eye-opening.

Likes are subjective. The best anime for me is fantastic children and many people don't like it because of the art or plot but for me is the best one.

So, let's not battle about what is a good anime...as for the OP, I agree...the art in Free is amazing but it's too early for me to decide whether the story is good but I've enjoyed the 4 episodes a lot, it's a slice of life more than sports but it's still wonderful. Major is the best sport anime for me.

Other animes with similar art is "K project", didn't care about it but the art is great.

There's been only 4 episodes, people would be complaining about "character development " if it was too much swimming and not enough "stuff " in such a small amount of time. However, the anime has delivered a good idea of the swimming sport so far...l

but if you take away the Kyoto animation studio and the comedy and strip (bad word) down to its story, it isn't new, it certainly has been attempted before.

What do you think about Gintama? without the comedy it would be nothing, then again the dramatic episodes have been done wonderfully even though the plot wasn't new...you can find similar plots in other stories. It's all about how you feel while watching it. Many shoujos have the same plot idea but some are better than others because of the way the characters were handled and of course, because of how much you enjoyed it for whatever reasons.

Although, I agree completely that good art =/= good anime, what you may think is a good anime, others might think is the worst one and the OP inquiry is about the animation, either way....Remember ... the anime is not even finished.

One thing for sure is, Free has great character development... it is the reason why I highly enjoy it, art is not a plus and maybe some people feelthe same way. You're flaming people here and not the anime. You think that Free is popular because of the art only. Comedy is always a plus in every story. But a good story with stoic characters is also a let down.

Because technology is getting better... so anime's graphics gets better along with it...

The same applies to games also...

I'd have to say the sport/relationship balance is just about perfect in Chihayafuru.

And if you think all sports anime goes no where, you might want to check out Ashita no Joe, a show so beloved by the Japanese that a funeral procession was held to commemorate the death of a single character.
