Don't be comparing Victory Gundam, the darkest of "Kill'em All" Tomino's Gundams to Attack on Titan!

Attack on Titan has to make it to episode 50 before you can start doing that!

AND someone important has to actually die. I mean come on, it introduces 5 filler guards for Eren and kills them off within 5 episodes. I get it, they're a nice group of people. But when you have a flash-back episode the episode before they die, you know they failed as characters.

That's actually one of the biggest problems I have with Attack on Titan. They build up this dark, depressing world where anyone can die, and then no one you care about dies. Everyone has plot armor, and when you're having long action arcs, it just gets boring, because you know everyone who isn't important is going to die and everyone who is important will not. Tomino should show them how it's done.

Speaking of which, I've still yet to see Victory all the way through, but the one thing that has stick out to me was I felt that they wasted Katejina Loos as a character. She starts off smart and cynical, but then

Let's see I've watched

Gundam 0079 - Amuro starts out like a little bitch but becomes pretty badass and Char is well Char = badass
Gundam 0080 - It's been awhile don't remember much about the characters
Gundam MS 8th Team - I loved this series but can't remember much. i'll have to rewatch again one day
Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory - Gato was cool. Kou was a little bitch and the one chick whose name I can't remember was a two timing bitch
Gundam Z - Kamille is the biggest bitch ever
Gundam: Char's Counter Attack - Amuro and Char nuff said
Gundam Wing - It's a Gundam!!!!!!!! Everybody is cool except for Quattra
Gundam 00 - There is no God!!!!!! It's an even more awesome Gundam Wing.

I plan on start gundam ZZ in the near future but so far my favorite series is 00. The 00 Raiser is my favorite all time Gundam and I wreck shop with in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 not to mention the fact the Setsuna is my favorite pilot as well with Heero and Duo a close second.

One big problem I had with Gundam X was the Mobile Suit Pilots. It's the main reason I'm avoiding Wing for the moment, I'm sure to be disappointed, and I've already got a low opinion of it. Any GIant Robot show I didn't watch as a Kid will probably not be very good. I got into anime rather young, but it wasn't hard to notice the difference between Dragonball and Dragonball Z, Gundam WIng and Big O. Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw star.
IT's not that they're bad, but it doesn't have what I want. I grew up on Lupin the 3rd and Cased Closed right after Inuyasha and Yu u Hakusho. I spend my afternoon watching Dragonball Z, Samurai Jack, Rurouni Kenshin.

I spend the mornings on "the funimation channel 9028-er sumthin" watching The Slayers, Kodocha-chan, and....jeez, what else was on that channel? It was just a non stop showing of several shows every single day non freaking stop.
I spend Saturday Mornings with my Pokemon, Digimon, Batman the Animated Series, Animaniac's, (a little) Sonix X (it wasn't that good), and some of "The Batman" you know, BTAS's younger action filled kid brother? With a bunch of Batman Beyond and Justice League for good measure.

I'm not saying this makes me an expert on anime or TV or nothing, but when Gundam WIng and Tenchi Muyo are the only shows I didn't watch, what does that tell you? A kid who loves robots to death not watching Gundam WIng.

It might have been the white protagonist group. As a black haired man of half-asian decent, watching characters who look like my brown haired white kid friends.

Gundam Wing is also the first...no, Second Gundam series to have a "Japanese" main character. I believe G-Gundam beat it in that regard, but G Gundam is ham anyways so it slides.

Amuro's from Canada(if I remember right, not googling it right now)
Kamille and Judau are from Space...duh.
Garrod is from North America, lolz apocalypse countries right?

Gundam ZZ isn't as good as Zeta to be sure, but it was a nice treat. Good luck getting past the side characters, they never die(SPOILERS) but they're also the only people you want to die. No, the characters who do die however....you're gonna be mad, confused, and understand it.
It's like Tomino said, "gah, I freakin hate the heroes I invented....but this side character is just so...awesome....when he dies, it's going to be epic"
Oh, and "everybody working on Double Zeta, i'm now leaving the last 6 episodes to you, I'm also taking the rest of the budget to work on Char's counter attack! Here's the rest of the series plot I wrote down on a napkin..and I went ahead and tore out pages of the ending we planned for Char's counter attack so...good luck! AND NO CHAR RETURN, IT'S SAVED FOR THE MOVIE!"

My post is getting long.....

Yeah, I bet I know who the first good character will die on their team...or maybe not?

Connie Springer. That dude just has "Krillin" written all over his face. Every time he shows up, it's to show the audience how he's trying but failing to do anything worthwhile. You just KNOW that when the time comes, he's going to pull a

"It's ok, you guys go on ahead. I'm always a burden on you all, BUT NOT THIS TIME! I'll hold them off, you guys go on ahead without me!"

And then dies like a bitch.

You just KNOW he was invented for that.

I'll be happy as long as Armin and Eren end up like Tiffa and Garrod do in Gundam X.
That is to say, with a long passionate kiss, and a scene break away where you just know they're doing something naughty.

It's quite simple

Start at episode 1 of Mobile Suit Gundam.

Also known as Mobile Suit Gundam 79.

And OG - Original Gundam.

It aired in 1979 and it's opening episode was the first to actually get me invested into Gundam as a whole. It took one amazingly directed first episode. The opening to Gundam 00, Wing, Seed, G, blablabla. They didn't work. While Zeta, Double Zeta, Victory, Turn A, and Gundam X all require (to varying extent) you having seen the original Gundam.

Original Gundam just does the series justice, watching it confirms why Gundam is such a big thing today. It best explains what a Gundam is, it introduces an amazing cast of characters that forever defined their own Genre, "Fucking Char Aznable", most beastly Pilot ever created, the man who single handedly instituted the fact "red is 3 times faster than other colors" simply due to his Mech color.

AND Original Gundam has the White Base.

And such I ask people of the Thread!

Is there any series ship that EVER comes close to the White Base in shear amazingness? The White Base just had all the space, that room, that big circle in the middle that gave it Gravity whenever they wanted, the color, the fact that it housed several mecha of various sizes. How the majority of crew members were important to the scheme of things.

And most importantly, the only Ship of which has a Chef. That's right! Everybody else, from the Friedan to the Arguma had somebody making PB and J and Subway for the crew.

Thats right, you ain't got nothing on Tamura here.

Ah Marida, the Mikasa Ackerman of Gundam. I really hope she doesn't die in episode 7, same with Captain Zinnerman.

Seen Gundam 00. have all of the DVDs of it and the Blue Ray of the movie. Love the overall plot and that unlike every other Gundamn it really feels different in a GOOD way. Tried AGE....... nope. Saw SEED. Ended well. Then Destiny just fucked over the whole thing and goes no where in the end. Still really think I have no reason to ever see any of the others because it ALWAY STARTS THE SAME AND ENDS THE SAME. Why I liked 00 so much. Felt like a new mecha IP with just the Gundam brand to help it along.

Eeeeeh, Mirada's awesome and such, but that doesn't lessen Misaka Ackerman too much at all. And that's all I've got to say about that right now.

I just finished Katanagatari, and that show is as Japanese a show and ending as you'll get , along the likes of other Super-Japanese Samurai Anime, you know?

But thats what makes Gundam so amazing. When finished Katanagatari, I shouted fowl. I was like NOOO, GO TO HELL JAPAN!

But Zeta Gundam, OG Gundam, and Double Z?

I thought. "The story isn't done, but this guys part in it is, and man what a part"

Every ending was epic, it covered several story arcs with just the right amount of Action and drama. From Gundam's epic view at the exploding fortress as they escape in the little spacey pod thing. The White Base is the greatest Space-ship in Gundam as far as I've seen yet. Not a single ship compares to it yet! And they had to abandon it!

Then you have Zeta's "this isn't the end of it, just the end of us" style just blew me away in awesomeness

Then you get Ninja Scroll.....when someone dies in that I shouted NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Damn Japanese people and your ancient Japanese Culture of having the loved one die just to make you more of a man. It's like "a thing" that has to happen.
