Nope. I have real glasses.

What is a hipster anyways? Sounds like hippie. My 7th grade teacher told me all hippies smoked marijuana, and I'm not getting a very good impression....

Hipsters are very confusing to me.

What is wrong with marijuana? I'm pretty sure your teacher does not really know what a hippie is.

I wear real glasses, but I do sort of know where the OP is coming from. Having worn glasses for most of my life, I think the way I look without them now is just wrong. Some people look better in glasses than they do without them, and I consider myself one of those people. I have been considering getting laser surgery for a while now on and off, and the only thing keeping me from having it done is that I'd need to start wearing fake glasses to look the way I do now, and I'm the type that would feel like a phony for doing that.

All that said, though, I think it is legitimately strange for someone to choose to wear glasses when they have good eyesight. But I've never really understood fashion fads anyway, so the motivations behind 'geek chic' elude me. What I will say is that I think the signature 'hipster' glasses - those huge ones with the ultra-thick all-around frames - look bad no matter who they're on. It makes it look like the person is trying too hard to cash in on the 'glasses make you look smart' phenomenon and forgot that they don't necessarily make you look good. It took me literally hours to choose my last pair of frames, because I'll be wearing them every day of my life for the next couple years. They need to properly reflect my personality and look good on my face.

Never thought I'd see wearing glasses for no reason fashionable. I thought we were talking about the lens-less glasses Russell Westbrook wears, but it seems a bit odd to wear glasses when not necessary.

No, like most of the others here I also wear real glasses. However honestly I personally never saw the appeal of vanity specs. I get rather annoyed with my glasses sometimes especially because I am a tad OCD about my face and I always think they are crooked >.<

However people do tell me that I look good in them. Ehh, I guess if I did not get annoyed so easily with them I may understand a bit more. But I still am a bit jealous of people who get to choose if they want to wear glasses or not >.>

I don't know. He said it helped them hallucinate, and my teacher was very....different from a normal teacher. He frequently told us he didn't worship the devil, god, and he wasn't an a atheist, frequently challenged us when we talked about god, and my mother hated him, no surprise. He also accepted bribes from students when late. I liked him though, and everyone loved him. He says odd things in general, but he said hippies smoke it because of that, and he told us Twilight was racist ( in a very in-depth explanation, which I've forgotten ).

I've been legally blind since birth, so no. Unless I'm sleeping, I'm never without my glasses.

I don't see a problem with wearing glasses for cosmetic purposes. It's just another part of your wardrobe, IMO. Sort of like an accessory, such as a hairband or a bracelet or a ribbon.

It is sort of girly, I suppose, but who cares about that nowadays? If you're not secure enough in your masculinity to wear a pair of glasses (and the only difference between them and sunglasses are the lenses), that's a problem. Especially if you then try to look down on people who are. One of my friends has even given me a few pairs of these glasses (3 are sort of rectangle-lensed with thin black frames, 1 is the standard round 'hipster' sort). She thinks I look better with the glasses. Or at least more amusing. I do wear the rectangular ones out on occasion, but I don't think the usual hipster glasses look right on me. My sunglasses have rectangular lenses and are frameless or thin-framed, so I'm accustomed to wearing that shape.

They sort of obstruct my vision since I'm too lazy to clean them, and I habitually remove them and/or keep adjusting them if I am wearing them. I don't wear them much but there's nothing really inherently wrong with them.

I have worn glasses since 5th grade and have gotten so used to them that it bugs me when I'm not wearing them >< I constantly go to push them up and they aren't there and I think I look weird without them, so If I got contacts or surgery I would probably need to get fake glasses

I used a fake pair once for a costume party. I had a headache after wearing them since I have my own prescription lenses.

Wearing fake eyeglasses isn't very advisable. I might ruin your eyesight, which is a very important asset.

Yes. I've worn bookworm glasses before for about 4 years, I think (I was inspired by a character, can't remember exactly which character).

Nowadays, I wear a pair of thin circular-framed glasses, because I was inspired by Gintoki-sensei; looks exactly like the one he wears in this picture.
