Lol! Story of my life. But now I got used to wearing contact lenses considering the lab work I'm doing since it's hard to look at microscopes with eyeglasses xD

"AKA Hipster Glasses"?

I've always known them as "nerd" glasses. Until that term started making itself more known.

But yes, yes I have.

Had to look up what the term means. Someone who follows the latest trends and fashions.

Yes, I wore non-prescription glasses for fun when I was younger. That does not mean I'm defined by a dumb label though.

I'll never understand why visual impairments suddenly became cool, along with argyle sweaters and neon colored skinny jeans.

I don't see a problem with wearing glasses for cosmetic purposes. It's just another part of your wardrobe, IMO. Sort of like an accessory, such as a hairband or a bracelet or a ribbon.

It is sort of girly, I suppose, but who cares about that nowadays? If you're not secure enough in your masculinity to wear a pair of glasses (and the only difference between them and sunglasses are the lenses), that's a problem. Especially if you then try to look down on people who are. One of my friends has even given me a few pairs of these glasses (3 are sort of rectangle-lensed with thin black frames, 1 is the standard round 'hipster' sort). She thinks I look better with the glasses. Or at least more amusing. I do wear the rectangular ones out on occasion, but I don't think the usual hipster glasses look right on me. My sunglasses have rectangular lenses and are frameless or thin-framed, so I'm accustomed to wearing that shape.

They sort of obstruct my vision since I'm too lazy to clean them, and I habitually remove them and/or keep adjusting them if I am wearing them. I don't wear them much but there's nothing really inherently wrong with them.

Thank you. I feel the same way! And believe it or not...some people who have perfect vision are envious of those who wear REAL glasses since a pair of glasses are an accessory and it can make you look appealing. Albeit, i do not wear my hipster glasses on a regular basis...just for fun since my friends think i look different, in a good way, when i wear them

Same here. I rarely leave my room without them but the few times I do I always push up at the bridge of my nose trying to fix them and then pretend like I was just scratching that spot when I realize they aren't there. I found the idea of wearing fake glasses stupid until I thought about what would happen if I did get the surgery or contacts for whatever reason. I would totally need fake glasses as well. >_< But I love the way I look with glasses so I will never get contacts or surgery. I kind of don't even want to replace my glasses since it would be hard finding some that still look as good as these. Even though they are almost 10 years old now and falling apart.

If I did for whatever reason get fake glasses though they would definitely not be hipster style.

I have astigmatism in my left eye, so I'm required to wear glasses. Although I have tried a few varying styles of the "hipster" glasses before, I've found that they simply don't suit my face. I prefer smaller, rectangular glasses with a small-medium frame. Though, I don't hold anything against people who want to wear glasses with perfect vision. Glasses can be treated as an accessory and not necessarily as a necessity. I, for one, have a bit of a thing for glasses, so the more the merrier.
