When I play any episode, I'm guessing the app adjusts to whatever my connection speed is and for some reason it keeps picking the lowest video and sound quality.

I don't think there is an issue with my Internet connection speed because my laptop and android phone have been able to watch crunchyroll, either through the website or app, without experiencing any issue with video quality or lag.

I've been able to get around this issue a few times by playing the video to a point, backing out of the video, and playing it again. At that point, the video is at a higher quality though it doesn't work all the time.

I'm just wondering if anything can be done with this, either on your end or mine.

Please open the Crunchyroll App.

Step 1) Go to Settings in the app.
Step 2) Tap and hold anywhere on the settings screen. A secret menu should appear.
Step 3) Set "Fixed video quality" to on.

That should solve the issue!

Thanks. That option is what I needed. I was about to resign from Crunchyroll subscription, because of not having constant quality of anime on my iPad. I wounder why this option isn't visible by default.

Often video of lower quality would load as soon as I start playing movie, but it would fix itself after like 10-20s. It was so annoying.

By the way, I'm getting my iPad air in a few days. Hopefully, Crunchyroll app will look even better on it than on iPad Mini.
