I've never really had parents around when I was growing up, so my views on my parents are different as I never knew my real father.
My mother, she was never around, just always out drinking and left me alone at home. This happened for 6 years when I was 4 to 10 years old. I recently lost respect for her, as she never calls to speak to me, she always speaks to my sister.
My stepfather I respect him, he works hard to support me and my sister who my mother has left him to take care of while she's in Thailand doing whatever.

I've learned to with this though, and in the future, I will try my best as a parent.

They piss me off pretty much constantly by arguing with me about things they know absolutely nothing about. Other than that, they've offered to let me stay with them as long as I'd like while I study to become an LPN, amongst many other kindnesses.

My dad's a big duck fan, you see, and didn't believe me when I told him the horror stories .. he's still in denial. He actually thinks those videos are a joke .. *sigh* ..

Mom's not much better ..

When I was younger me and my mom clashed a lot but it was necessary from a parent and child point of view. I really do love her for how she raised me. I could openly talk to her about anything. She is actually worried about me right now because I haven't had a girlfriend for year so she had a talk with me lmao. My dad wasn't in the picture until much later. He has done a lot of fucked up things but I don't hate him. Me and him try to talk, and I try to give him a chance.... but he is just there in my eyes.

Got lucky... Mom and Dad been together for 38 years, they both have done everything they can to support myself, my bro and sis... Every Sunday since year dot we had a family outing, little trips to the beach, countryside etc, I'll never forget and although its unlikely I'll have kids myself I would wish my childhood on anyone...

Thanks Mom & Dad

I appreciate all the work my parents have done in raising me, but I hate them. Yes, hate is the right word.

To me, they have a narrow view of how to live and are too obsessed with working hard/being productive. I wish I had parents that were more compatible with my personality.

Well I've only had a mother never known my father but shes one of the coolest people I know. She speaks to everyone as equals and acts closer to a teen than an adult but she's a blast all in all

I like them enough, like most people should. My mom's very fashionable and open to whatever I tell her, yet still strict enough to where she has parented me very well... while my dad is very old-fashioned and overprotective. He doesn't like modern stuff and is a cheapskate, so I like my mom a little more. The only things me and my dad have in common is that we like watching soccer and tennis and talking about cars. My parents will probably end up getting a divorce after my brother and I grow up. My dad's side of the family is bat-shit crazy, and my dad sometimes acts likes them and my mom hates it. And I agree with her. To summarize: my mom's a better person than my dad, but I love them both. Just I connect more with my mom and I'm more at a stalemate with my dad.
