Do you steal or purchase your music?

Do you feel bad if you steal it, or do you figure you aren't hurting anyone but the label company?

Personally i gave up stealing music when limewire went down. I didn't know any other legit site at the time, and torrent sites seem like too big of a gamble.

As a result, itunes has made a small fortune off of me.

I usually buy my music, unless its from an old anime that I cannot find the soundtrack for, but I haven't gotten any new music in forever since I stopped liking all of the music that I had and didn't want to ruin more songs for myself. Songs are a lot better when heard on the radio or internet radio since their usually very random little "oh yeah! I like that song" moments.

Though I stay away from itunes since its proprietary, I don't like DRM anything, so I avoid DRM if at all possible.

I'm not big into music anyway, if I didn't torrent what I have now I would simply only have the CD's that I already bought. Same with anime; if I didn't torrent it I wouldn't have it.

I really do buy it all unless it's officially offered as a free download. For the most part I use eMusic--they have most of what I like, and it's less expensive than iTunes (but I'm locked into buying a certain amount each month). But sometimes I end up at Amazon, or iTunes, or other legal download sites. I don't buy a lot of anime-related music, but when I do, I buy CDs from cdjapan and rip them to MP3.

I never buy it, but then again, I never really listen to much. When I do, I usually Youtube it.

I buy it; either from Amazon, iTunes or their own website.

i hardly buy it, i listen to too much and it'd cost money i don't have. If I can listen to it all for free i'm not going to pay like 10 quid to get it in to my files. That being said i buy some cd's of artists I like just because it feels better, and artists that i really like and nobody really knows of, I will buy too.

If I have money or I know the album/EP/single will be really good, then yeah I buy. Rarely digitally though and prefer vinyl. Sometimes Ill find the CD at the library and just rent it for free. But, for the most part I download it illegally w/o shame. Only legal downloads I've done recently were hip-hop mixtapes or digital codes that came with vinyl purchases. Reason why I download illegally though? Most artists now make it on touring, which I do go to if I enjoyed the artist. Also don't trust my money going towards major labels who'll fund lame pop artists.

I do both. I try to support my favorite artists whenever I can. If I really like an album, I will buy it.

Buy, especially if it is from the artist's site. If you don't support the artists, they probably won't continue to make music.

I have only 2 legal albums/live concert-thingy. That's Linkin Park: Road to Revolution, and a Defqon 1 year 2007 DVD.
I get my music on YouTube, and sometimes via torrent sites. Mostly because the music genre I'm listening to, aren't available in the stores in my country.

Oh!! I just bought BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend Limited Edition in GameStop, and i got some of the ingame music in a CD ^^

But of course I would always recommend buying your music. Well... It just doesn't sound right, when i write it! xD

If it's on iTunes, then I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'll download the song from a site where you can do so for free.

i buy my faves. and if i'm not sure that i'll like it the I download. i can count the number of times that i downloaded a album and only ended up barely liking a single track, so then i delete it
