Howdy!

Functionality for the Watchlist had been slowly being removed over the course of the last year.
When I joined the company in December of 2011 they were already beginning to work it out of the design.

It was a feature that was felt underused and the Queue was implemented to replace it.

I'll pass your feedback to the Dev and Design teams.

Best,
-Baker

Thanks Bjaker! I just feel this feature has a lot of potential if properly implemented. Also it seems I've found my watchlist in my history thanks to Eiby's suggestion (THANKS! ) and it's even editable still. So personally I'd greatly like it if the team would just put the link back in the profile if that's reasonable and maybe in the future integrate it with the queue.

That history suggestion doesn't really work for me though! A lot of the shows that were on my Watchlist are not available on Crunchyroll or i just did not watch on CR for various reasons. I used it to keep track of my shows and it is useful to allow people to see if they have similar interests with me. I often looked at a person's Watchlist to see if we had similar interests we could talk about. The episode count thing on the Watchlist also helped me keep track of what episode i was on if i had not watched that show for awhile or like i said it is not on CR so i cannot put it in the Queue. I think it made our profiles more well rounded and easier to read. Less reading or searching and just a quick look to see if we like similar things. Call me lazy but i liked that a lot. Watchlist was a great feature in my opinion and i would like to see it implemented again or just incorporated somehow into the Queue so that they are like one function.

To those who are having trouble getting to their list, try this:

  • Click here. You should be able to see your list and edit it through the link in the upper right.
  • If you want to see its public view, where you can manage the episode count, enter edit mode anyway and click the list's name. Then you can save the address, or—as I did—simply put a link in your 'About Me' section of your profile.

Hope this helps!

I was also really confused about the watchlist's disappearance.

Honestly, I loved the fact that I could have it on my profile for anyone to see! It was my way of showing people what I've seen, and what I'd recommend. I don't think there's a way to show off our queue to other users, but if there is, I'd love to know it! I managed my watchlist at the same timw as my queue, so there was significant overlap between the two; but still, I liked showing it off on my profile and looking at other people's lists too! It's a great way to indirectly give recommendations to other users.

I really hope the feature comes back on one way or another... :/

Yes, I totally agree with you. My favorite part about the watchlist was that I could show mine to others, especially since it was prominently featured in my profile. The queue feature is nice too, but it serves a more personal use. I don't use it much often though, since I prefer MyAnimeList to keep track of what I watch(ed).

I wish they would of given people the head up before they got rid of it too. I have no Idea wear I was with some of my anime.

I wish there was a way to get the list back just so you can get a copy of it.

I managed to find my watchlist as well. Are they planning on actually removing them from the site? If they are then I'll have to find another service to keep track of the anime I've watched. If not then I can just link to it from my profile...

Man, the watchlist was really neat too. Aside from the ability to share it with others, I liked that you could put shows on it that might not have been available on the site. I could show my progress on Baccano!, for example.

I just used it to keep track of all the anime I've completed and ranked them by how much I liked them. This way I could show my friends my most and least favorite anime... A true shame that it was removed.

It will eventually be removed, just as chat and Crunchyland were.
