No age is too old I started to go to Kumoricon since 2007 and loved it I am 53. No if you like me feel like the old odd person out , do something about it. Since 2008 I been hosting the Otaku over 25 panel at Kumoricon. I encourage you older fans to start older fan panels at other cons.

This is an amazing idea!! Going to have to see about doing this at MTAC next year. Thanks!

Hold on there. Too old to Cosplay? Then who will be a convincing Master Roshi? Or Balgus? Or Emperor Beld? Or Captain Okita? Let the younger generation have there heroes. We shall be the wise masters, brave captains, and noble bodyguards who nurture them.

To old to cosplay.

BAH!

Never. I believe that as long as you still retain the young you, the you who sees wonder, the you who still loves all that you did, then never too old. Somethings change, you might not want to bother rushing to get the signatures or get the rare merchandise or see every single show/panel but if you still enjoy the event it self, then keep going.

As for cosplay, there's plenty of older characters, yet if a guy in 30's can go as a teen girl, then really anything can go. Just recommend not the birthday suit, no coming back after that.

I say never as well. Who am I to think or tell a individual they can not attend a convention, where there is no age restriction anyway? Anyone can go to those conventions regardless of age.

Indeed - at Sakura Con last year, there was a gentleman in his 50's/60's who was absolutely rocking Uncle Iroh. (He even had a nice repertoire of firebending poses.)

Nor is there any particular reason to limit yourself to older characters, cosplay is about what you enjoy and want to portray, not just about picture perfect re-creations. (To the thirty something black guy crossplaying Chibi Moon last year - two thumbs up!)

No limits on the age, man.

I'd kill to see a 75 year old man buffed out looking like Master Roshi or Silvers Rayleigh.

now that I think about it, I got 55 years to prepare... Back to the lab.

depends what ure going there for...

I'd say the merchandise stuffs are more for younger peeps while the talks and whatnot are more suitable for older people cuz they have longer attention span.

if I go to a convention this year, I'm not going to sit at any talks... since I have short attention span.. I'm just going there to buy some stuff and then get out
