My first day of watching on this site was perfect. I was watching Naruto at 1080p with any buffering at all. I have a $1000 computer I just bought and my internet is perfectly adequate. Now, the episodes I try watching all play for about 3 seconds and buffer for 40+ seconds. I'm able to watch a Twitch.tv stream at 1080p and do plenty of other tasks. I've done all the troubleshooting on the forums and nothing has worked. I've already tried the contact us, but I have yet to get a reply.

Also, it doesn't matter what resolution I put it at, it will still buffer for a long period of time.

High site traffic, probably. Just throwing that out there. Today was Sunday, after all.

I hope you're right. Felt like I found a great site that would be worth paying for.

It's just that I've noticed that when other people post similar threads to this one, it's normally a weekend. ^_^'' Try again midday tomorrow, and it might be even better on Tuesday. But on the weekends, I'd say it really doesn't hurt to watch a couple episodes in 480p or 720p. They're really not that bad. That's just my opinion...CR's SD seems a lot more organized than Youtube's SD...heck, maybe even Youtube's 480p. But that might just be because everything here's animated, though. ;P

I'm perfectly fine with watching at 720p, because honestly it's hard to really see the difference. But it doesn't matter was resolution I put it on. Either 720p, 480p or even SD. I love this site, but nothing makes me more pissed off then a constantly buffering video.

The buffering issues have been terrible as of late (even during the week). It's borderline unacceptable.

During the week I have 0 issue, but it has been horrible on Saturday and Sundays for the last month or so.

I'm not paying a monthly fee for a subscription website to only be able to watch on certain days of the week. They should either spin up more servers during high traffic times or at the very least put up "We are experiencing high user load at this time..." messages on the site. It's 2013. Having these sort of problems this day and age are beyond stupid. They need someone who knows how to properly implement load balancing and caching to proper CDN, which they seem to already be doing somewhat with Akamai. I'm willing to pay more for a service that actually worked if that's what it required.

I'm cancelling my service. Good luck, Crunchyroll.

Totally agree, this is my first weekend paying by the service, is great to see anime in many devices, but the buffering issue is not something to be paid.
I'll be wait until the next month (this month was paid anyway)

I don't want to iterate what's already been said in nearly every post but...yeah...the buffering is beyond hopeless! (ongoing for nearly 2 months) I am really frustrated with this PAID service because I especially have contacted CR and their responses were practically automated, which were used for two very different e-mails! (By automated, I mean its more like they use a template response as opposed to reading and providing me with a valid human one)

Look, a lot of people are facing this issue, when will you guys address the situation? We are paying customers and the lack of support isn't even acceptable. The very least you should be able to do is to respond accordingly and be honest about what you intend to do. A simple 'We are experiencing high traffic loads, therefore we apologise for the increased buffering delay at this period' app notification is not that hard and or a message stating that you guys on on the ball working on the problem at hand and are expecting to repair/amend the problem by APPROXIMATELY date X...We're all generally quite mature and deserve and adult response, at the very least it'll prevent us from showing up on your doorsteps with torches and pitchforks riiight?

Well said. This is how I feel too. I've been a premium member for years. I had zero problems with streaming. Now it's horrible in the late afternoons and evenings, and especially on the weekends. It's basically at the point where I can only watch videos randomly, but even then it often gets stuck and I have to reload the page. Of course someone might say, well during those times of the day my own internet connection is probably getting slowed down, but I can't help but think that this is a problem on crunchyroll's end, because 1) I never used to have this problem 2) I can stream 1080p just fine from other places like vudu, youtube, anywhere and 3) I have an awesome computer and lots a bandwidth, I test at the time and it always comes back fast, so I just know it's not my problem.

I don't really want to cancel my subscription as I really like the service, but to be honest they need to be working on this more and should be more helpful. I log tickets and all they can tell me to do is clear my cache, check my connection, and even once I was told to delete flash from chrome (uh what?) They need to prove to us that they actually have the capabilities to stream at high bandwidth. This doesn't seem like a very hard problem, it's just a matter of money. I wonder if they even monitor constantly the streaming output. Just putting up a notice that speeds are slow would go a long way in keeping people frustrated and jiggering with their computer settings to no avail. If CR is so sure that they can stream just fine then I want a real solution. I want someone to look at my actual streaming session when it's not working and tell me the realtime rate they are sending data down. Prove to me that CR isn't at fault with some real data, because otherwise everything I test on my end looks good.

If this keeps up I can't really justify continuing my yearly subscription after it expires this time.
