Post Reply What do you do to cheer yourself up?
Posted 8/13/13
I use to go for a run to get my mind off of things, but since it has gotten so hot, I have become lazy and accustomed to the AC. So now I talk to Jimmie and he usually cheers me right up. If not him then candy or sleep. I forget my troubles easily, so I'm the type that gets over things in like 5 minutes... Depending on what has upset me though.

I respect your outlet OP.
I practice Muay Thai on my wave master while blasting Jumpstyle/Hardstyle on my speakers. Keeps my mind busy and off of the things I don't want to remember.

Get into guns...
Just kidding, thinking about things too long will make you go mad, literally.
Try occupying your mind with a hobby, even if it is guns or whatever.
Watching anime is nice, you can relate to the characters or get into the story.
You could also play an instrument or get into drawing.
Long as you keep yourself occupied and not thinking about those things that bother you,
and if you don't have friends; screw it. There aren't too many people you could call true friends nowadays.
But you could get a new job or get involved in something and make new ones.
I could also recommend drugs... again just playing around!

I do something to occupy my mind such as play a video game, watch tv, eat, sleep, work, exercise, listen to music... whatever corresponds with my mood.

I don't.
I just move on. Always striving to become better at the things I can at least do. No need to stop because I'm down. Hoping to feign away the disappointing disgust is something I've done too long. And it mostly only wasted my time.

I think being optimistic is OK.But I'm not really counting on anyone or anything to cheer me up anymore.

Apart from actually doing something, I do this too. Sometimes I accept the facts like you.

I do hardcore drugs until I fall asleep in my own filth. *sobs*

I'm kidding, if I get sad I usually just go into my "man cave" and pick up either my electric or acoustic guitar for a couple of hours, better therapy than therapy itself. No better way to cheer up than to become better at something you enjoy.

I tend to take life in stride, day by day... But most of my troubles come from loving a girl that... In a few months, I might not ever see again.

We've had our fair share of troubles, not unlike a rollercoaster... But when I'm feeling the most down, I'll play the piano. Sometimes I'll write poetry and share pieces of my soul with Facebook, or I'll watch a romantic anime to get all those feels back. The good ones.

Other times, I just need some guy time and I'll get my boys together to hangout and drink/play video games/watch anime together.

Like I said, I may not ever see her again after a few months... But she's the only one I've ever thought I remotely "loved" since I was 11. So sometimes I'll even just lay down on my bed, hug my pillow, and imagine the things that could be. What the future could be like. What I would do if I was given the chance...

But... Yeah.

You sound just like me my friend. There are times where love is lost, but you just can't find it back to you...
