YES. It's much better to cry when you need to (obviously try to be alone, be with those that will support you, or go to a place where you can just let your tears out if you can't keep it in until you can be alone) than to explode at the worst possible moment. Anyone that says crying shows "signs of weakness" is a complete idiot. Bottling up emotions is very detrimental to your health and I really wish there wasn't such a stigma against crying (especially for guys). And by the way, crying doesn't always equate to sadness. You can cry from happiness, relief, or if you're really moved by something, like music. Sometimes I get teary eyed when I hear moving songs (like that "Dango Daikazoku" song from Clannad. Gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME!) I will admit I get caught of guard if like say a coworker started crying all of a sudden, but I would definitely NOT criticize a co-worker for crying at all. Bottling up emotions is very, very bad, but you do have to consider where you are too. Anyway, yes, crying when you need to is perfectly fine.

Depending on the situation. When you're just alone or something, is it okay? (Other than a death).

I find myself always in a trance, or daydreaming. I'll listen to OST's or music that will make me cry. No to pry into anything personal, I have low self-esteem. I've been told I'm very light-hearted, so I guess that's a good thing.

Is it okay to cry?

I wear my heart on my sleeve. I cry all the time.

I think that is ok to cry, but like the other guy said it is because something is wrong in your life.
In fact, I cried today when I was talking with my brother. I'm getting pretty depressed sometimes and we were talking about life and
stuff. So, you have to talk to someone if you think something is wrong.

Listen to that song(the most beautiful song ever)

Yes, it is perfectly fine to let out your emotions. It's what makes us "stick" together.

It's ok but dont mistake crying for a solution to a problem. If you cry instead of making the reason your crying or the thing that upsets you go away then there is a certain point to were action is needed and crying won't solve anything.

Of course it's ok to cry, if any one makes fun of you for it, you tell them it takes a bigger man to show emotion than it does to keep it cooped up.

How so?
Showing emotions seems to be rather easy and just crying if something is upsetting seems rather easy as well.

Now don't get me wrong if you feel like crying and that's your thing go for it.
It doesn't make you any less of a man in my eyes BUT
Saying it takes a bigger man to show emotions than it does to keep it cooped up is just stupid.
There are situations where you feel like crying but you just can not allow it you need to appear strong to give support to the weaker ones who can not hold it in and just need a strong shoulder to cry on.

Turning on the water sprinklers all the time is way easier than holding it in for the sake of others but i suppose not everyone can understand that and some just need to tell themselves that they are bigger man cause they just cried like a baby,,,,,,,

Crying makes you feel better well that's fine np with that but don't delude yourself

I hate crying in front of other people because I find it embarrassing and a weakness in myself because I feel like I can and should have better control over my emotions. But that is just me, I don't think others are weak for crying or showing emotion in public. So yes it is ok to cry there is no need to feel bad about it.

Yea i always get those feelings to cry when those hard hitting anime moments come up, I don't like have a water fall of tears but i might have a few make a trail down my cheek.
otherwise I don't really cry. (unless you know, the death of a loved one happens ;( r.i.p.) but lets not go there
I'm not gonna judge people for it either, there's some real dou**ebags out there who will make fun of anyone who cries and that really pisses me off.
No one should judge you for crying, especially when they don't know why.

It's always okay to cry. And you don't have to keep it private- That's silly. Essentially the same as bottling things up. Gotta find someone to talk to.

Ideally, I think it is okay to cry. Unfortunately, I hate to let myself cry because I feel like I'm showing weakness, even if I'm by myself. I hope this changes someday, though, because I hate not being able to fully express my emotions.
To others, though, I would say it's okay to cry. Because stifling your emotions is never a good thing. (I'm one of those people who just can't practice what they preach.)

Yes it's OK to cry. It's one of the many emotions that we all have as human beings.

Like others have pointed out, you should never let them be bottled up inside. I do believe it's bad for our overall physical and mental health to do so.

Crying is not a sign of weakness on either men or women, remember that we are capable of crying when we are happy or sad.

I can honestly say that I have cried to very emotional events both in my private life and because of other circumstances such as watching a sad anime such as "Anohana" or when a tragic event such as a natural disaster occurs in our world.

Half the anime I watch makes me cry at some point. Even knowing how it ends, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia gets me every single time...

Yeah of course it's ok that's why we are still human because we have emotions! i mean i cry all the time! well only when i watch a very sad anime or when someone i know dies! but other than that not really! and if you really want to cry watch the anime Anohana (only if you haven't watch it) and if you didn't cry during that anime THEN YOU ARE NOT HUMAN!!! AND YOU ARE A MONSTER!! BAKEMONO BAKEMONO BAKEMONO!!!!

I would say yes of course it's okay, but for me I actually find that I never like to cry in front of others. Even if I am talking on the phone I will hang up once I feel my chest start hurting and I feel like I am going to tear up.
But it's okay to cry and those times I did in front of my friends they understood, so.... CRY AWAY~
