The way you phrased this, it sounds like the wrong wording was used. When you were told that you are light-hearted, were they saying that you are easily hurt? Because that isn't light-hearted, it would be almost the opposite. A light-hearted person is free from anxiety/care/worry. Being light-hearted can be a good thing, but being easily hurt is not. Being a little bit sensitive is ok, but when you're sniffling over every little thing, then no one is going to be around you.

Rather than cry, laugh. You'll feel better if you laugh than if you cry, anyway. Of course, this doesn't apply if laughing is an inappropriate response (don't laugh at a funeral).

Which is what I don't understand. I've been told I was light-hearted, as my personality quite shows it I assume. When I'm around other, they're happy and whatnot. But, when I'm alone, is when I break out of my shell and the "light-hearted" routine is subconsiously gone.

Crying is the best way to get over crap. You cry, feel better, get over it, repeat, hopefully learn the second time lol

Nothing wrong with crying, imo it is worse to keep your feelings locked up, I don't quite know how to explain it but I feel that crying can help you get rid of some stress etc. and allows you to think about what is making you want to cry.
I'm sorry if this didn't help/make any sense in anyway but yeah this is my opinion anyway

in my experience laughing is far more effective over getting over crap than crying crying always made me feel (and look) worse than before i cried

so for OP, no it's totally evil! \ /

lol but really, i hate crying and i hate to see people crying, but if that's how you wanna express yourself go right ahead, just make sure i'm not around

of course... crying is good, it's like... sometimes i can get so irritated or down about something but just can't seem to cry, that's why I always feel comforted by being able too. I can only do it occasionaly though, if someone asks me to do it again i physically can't.

You have to bottle up those feeling.
It's not healthy to just let it all out.
And don't ever see a doctor about it, either.
That's just asking for it.

I think you can cry as much as you want, as long as you don't let others see it. Especially in a school setting. Of course there are exceptions.

How so?
Showing emotions seems to be rather easy and just crying if something is upsetting seems rather easy as well.

Now don't get me wrong if you feel like crying and that's your thing go for it.
It doesn't make you any less of a man in my eyes BUT
Saying it takes a bigger man to show emotions than it does to keep it cooped up is just stupid.
There are situations where you feel like crying but you just can not allow it you need to appear strong to give support to the weaker ones who can not hold it in and just need a strong shoulder to cry on.

Turning on the water sprinklers all the time is way easier than holding it in for the sake of others but i suppose not everyone can understand that and some just need to tell themselves that they are bigger man cause they just cried like a baby,,,,,,,

Crying makes you feel better well that's fine np with that but don't delude yourself

Lol, ok. I don't really know but the way I was brought up was that men don't show emotion like crying or being sad or anything like that, that it wasn't manly, so I tended to hold on to that view as I got older. Saying its stupid because you don't agree with it is awfully childish, but that's your opinion and I'll respect that.

I did not say it is stupid because i disagreed with you i said its stupid since it was just wrong if you would have said "in my opinion" or maybe "i think" i would just have disagreed with you and explained why i think otherwise.
However you stated it as a fact and its wrong and thats why i called it stupid i am aware that i could have chosen more friendly wording but if i see stupid i call it stupid simple as that.

Alright, bro. Whatever floats your boat, I never stated anything as fact. But if you're down to argue, I'm just asking to pick a better subject.

I dont see why i/we should be arguing you claimed in your first post :it takes a bigger man to show emotion than it does to keep it cooped up"(please note that you did not say in your opinion or something similar therefore you did indeed state it as a matter of fact)
i only pointed out that that it is not true and for some reason you seem to not have liked it...

Sooooo yeah really don't see why we should be arguing about something so obvious it also does not offer anything to this threat and we are only derailing it further and i do realize that its my fault for responding to your second post i should not have been baited that easily by being called childish by you.

i have lost alot of ppl trust me when i say this cuz it cuz from my heart crying is ok...then u stand up and just move on....and then u r crying again...its just a circle u go thru over and over...crying will help release all the happy chemicals in ur brain as well... trust me i have horrible social anxiety..so i dont put myself out there very much and i tend to be a yes person and bottle stuff in...i have found that crying helps u get over the hard stuff...trust me real men do cry...and women as well....there is not a single person on this blue planet that hasnt cried....

Nah dude, I'm not arguing with you at all. I simply responded to the question asked with what I thought. I understand you don't agree with me, and I'm totally fine with that. You're entitled to your own opinion and what I said was my own opinion, and I'm truly sorry that I didn't make it clear to you in my first post, I didn't think I needed to say that it was a fact or an opinion since he wasn't asking for facts from the most recent study on if you're a bigger man if you cry or not. No need to treat me like I'm stupid, lol. I never really said you were childish, I said what you said was childish, you can say childish things and not be childish, much like you can say stupid stuff and not be stupid. I appreciate you giving me something to do on here though.

I cry the most when I get overwhelmed with all them feels from the anime. Not much will make me cry... It just has to hit me in the right spots. But I'm not ashamed of it. I still cry over a past love every now and then when I can't sleep and I get to thinking too much... But, I also cry at the most unassuming of times during anime times. lol

Also, cliche as it is, crying every now and then is always better than trying to be "strong" aaaallll the time. Even bulletproof glass has it's breaking point.
