So my latest pre-orders arrived today in the mail (yes MAIL, even though they were shipped via FedEx?) For $10-15 bucks per figure, I would think that FedEx would actually make it to my front door...but that's another discussion.

I received the Kud from Little Busters nendoroid and the Akeno from HS DxD 1/8 scale figure.

Both boxes (the figure boxes themselves, not the box they came shipped in) were partially crushed from the front display window.

This is the 4th time this has happened, and each time it's when they boxes are completely wrapped in the air-pouch stuff and then the shipping box is over stuffed with more of those pouches.

It's pretty easy to guess why the figure boxes got crushed, no?

Thankfully none of the figures have been damaged...YET. Quite surprising considering some of the figures that have had their boxes damaged are pretty large.

Can you please look into changing the packing material you use? Maybe go with the popcorn stuff or something else? (maybe NOT wrap the boxes?) Or just re-visit your packaging process? (I'm not sure if you use a distributor or not, so I won't assume it's coming from Crunchyroll Warehouse/Depot)

I'm not expecting a mint condition box (though that would be nice! lol) but I'm concerned with the close calls with SO many shipments of late.

It kinda sucks that I can import a figure from Japan and it arrives in better condition than a domestic shipment.

Could not agree more. I purchased this http://www.crunchyroll.com/store/p/30414/Puella-Magi-Madoka-Magica-Ultimate-Madoka-18-Scale-PVC-Figure-PRE-ORDER and on of the side panels of the box was damaged thankfully none of the components were damaged. However that being said My nendoroid of kirito arrived in good nick! Though it's not fully the fault of crunchy. There's only so much armour you can put on something. You see videos all the time of airport staff and delivery drivers carelessly tossing stuff about. Plus the more stuff you add to the box the bigger/heavier it gets thus increasing shipping charges, import tax and a whole bunch of other payments.

FedEx SmartPost: FedEx takes it 95% of the way, then hands it off to USPS for final delivery.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

And Porky, thanks for sending this over to the store team.

I just got 3 more pre-orders in the mail today (Kobato Hasegawa nendoroid, Kana Minami nendoroid and Nyaruko-san figure) all three of their boxes were smashed in the same spot once again due to the way the boxes were wrapped in that air pouch stuff (Kobato's box to the point where the clear plastic window detached from the box).

Again, the figures themselves were not damaged...but if I ever wanted to buy these as gifts (Kana Minami IS a gift) or sell them, I'd have to seriously consider getting my money back from CR.

It's getting pretty ridiculous and I'm almost dreading that the rest of my pre-orders will arrive in the same condition.

Sorry if these are a bit dark. The camera on my phone isn't that good. I can repost using a better camera if you'd like or if you need larger resolution.

Here's the Kobato Hasegawa nendoroid box from a few angles:

Nyaruko-san 1/8 scale box:

Kud nendoroid box:

Kirito nendoroid box:

Akeno 1/8 scale box:

Kana Minami nendoroid box (this is the one that has upset me the most, because it was supposed to be a gift...thus the wrapping paper is still on it)

There are a few more, but I think you get the point. The damage is consistently to the display window side of the boxes (make sense, considering it is weaker than the rest of the box).

Outside of the Kobato and Akeno boxes (which has much more damage to them than just the display window area), it's pretty clear what is happening.

I hope you guys can fix this, as I don't plan to buy any items for gifts from Crunchyroll until this issue is resolved. As for the remainder of my pre-orders, I guess I'll just have to start asking for refunds or something if I get anymore damaged boxes like this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Bjaker, any update on this? Another pre-order was just shipped out to me yesterday. I'm hoping it will arrive in good condition.

Hey Bjaker, just got my Asuna S.K. series figure pre-order in the mail today.

Box was in perfect condition. No dings, dents, and no crushed in window!

The packing material was not as tightly wound up against the figure box, and I think that did the trick!

Please pass along my thanks to the CS team and Warehouse team for making adjustments!

Hope to see the rest of my pre-orders arrive in similar condition! :D

Thanks much for your help!

Anything come from these suggestions since I have a few more preorders now & would prefer them to arrive with undamaged packaging due to crushed box unlike my first CR order of that Koto 1/8 scale Asuna. My simple suggestion was to just use crumpled paper instead of the air bags. The paper should better cushion against impacts where the air bags just transfer it to the contents plus it's green.
