Distance protection.

Think about it. If you had a kid whom of which you love to death, and you posted a picture of it online, and I commented online, "Holy crap, that's the most disgusting-looking baby I've ever seen in my life," you can't do anything about it. If I said it to your face, you'd be able to try to defend and protect your baby.

Basically, people are totally free to be dicks online without any big risk of a repercussion, and so that's exactly what they do.

This makes the internet a great tool to use when you want to discover ones' true colors.

All serious though life is life and everyone expects everything to go their way. They are just not happy they can not see tomorrow nor can they see what fortune they do have. I am grateful for everything for what I do have and thankful for anime everyday.

Because angry people need a place to go as well. I've had my fair share of heated discussions in comment sections or forum threads.

Oh, wellI guess OP would be referring to trolls and just plain idiotic individuals.

And for the record, I don't think babies are cute. lol

Some people just want to watch the world burn, is all.

Mostly immaturity and lack of Internet self control. Everyone has a right to their opinion the Internet is far reaching so negativity spreads further than in real life. I personally focus on avoiding negativity on the Internet the same I avoid it in real life...

Personally, I think that angry people go online because they know they can't do it in real life, so they choose a forum in which they can get away with it.

Plus, nice people with fulfilling lives and families are usually too busy with real life to spend that much time online is the other half of my theory.

There are a few main factors but it's mostly the anonymity. No one can tell you off to your face for being a douche online so people get a sense of empowerment from it. The anger could come from hundreds of places - maybe they had a bad day or something and they need something to vent on/at. A lot of it just looks like childish bickering to me.

It's not hostility online, it's hostility of the human mind.

It was, it is, and always will be there.

Think about it for a moment, if inner peace was the natural state of human consciousness why would so many struggle to achieve it?

I see what you mean, but my prob is when they are typing those poisonous comments....where are their human side?
I understand it isn't just crazy people putting these comments there..it may be you niece, co-worker, professor or even your girl friend.
I believe the ones who does this are poisonous at there core as in...if there were no laws, or those who pointed out this behavior... there would be these heartless people out there making everyone else's life difficult. Think what if there actually was a zombie apocalypse... these naturally evil types will kill real people for food or equipment without a care because "they simply can" . It makes me shudder to think about it.

You stated the issue on your own. You "believe" there is a type of person, which is fundamentally different from another type of person. And you classify the group expressing angst as foreign.

That's a false belief.

Frankly, it is a naive and dangerous worldview.

All people, everywhere, are so closely related on a genetic level that there is no taxonomic difference between any group. Psychologically speaking, all humans behave in a predictably indistinguishable manner.

Furthermore, love and hate are on the same spectrum of emotion. To hate something is to obsessively and passionately think about it. To love something is also to obsessively and passionately think about it.

Heartlessness is a cold detachment from emotion, a disorder only seen at the far end of the autistic spectrum. And to only exhibit a single emotional state at all times is not an expression of purity, but that of a unipolar emotional state that can also only be classified as a disorder. Neither of these two potential states describes the average person, who, under varying degrees of stress and pressure will express the full spectrum of all mental states from the extremes of hopeful positivity to extremes of negativity and despair.

Because they're cowards that only know how to vent online but don't have the guts to say it in real life.

My belief?, sometimes things just aren't as complicated as we make them. It is very simple to NOT go online and call a innocent baby ugly...you see this is just something normal people never do(even if no one can see them). What a person does when no one is looking to judge them is their true nature to begin with...this is not my "belief", but fact(I don't need approval of Socrates to understand this).
The main word behind my post is "opportunist" (I'll admit the zombie shpill is a far stretch) a person that will do something horrible simply because the opportunity presented itself. I don't know if you noticed lalely , but the sense of morality is taking a hit as more and more people are being taught not to follow traditional moral responsibility.
