Because in real life people would just walk away from their venomous attitude. Of course, that happens online, too--but at least online, these angry folks can at least pretend that people are paying them some attention. . .

This is my best bet. I do think they at least THINK they mean what they're saying. Maybe they've been dumped on a lot and believe violence is the answer. But they know that, as it stands, they can't go around saying those things to others unless they want to get beat up in return. It's funny how little people actually think about anything.

Little to no accountability is the reason why. See the comic below for a more visual explanation.

I know what you mean. Sometimes those people just want attention or think they're being funny. Other times, that's just their nature and it's sad in my opinion. But haters always find something to hate, so what can you do but ignore them.

I find it all funny, there all too serious, the joker could change that (。◕‿◕。) jk, jk

Seriously though, I think they were being real ass wipes in that Amanda Todd Youtube video comment section, that place was like troll center on youtube. (comments were like, "glad you killed you're self, *insert bad word*)

I trolled some trolls (usually the only time I troll deliberately)

and I at least stopped a few, but there was like an army and everyone was feeding trolls like it was the zoo.

I think it's because people love letting out their anger in an anonymous way while attempting to troll others. I've seen an image on the internet before that kind of explains this: Anonymity + a large audience = ***hole.

Most of the crap talkers and ragers are edgy high school kids who get picked on, they do this online to prevent getting beat up for doing so in real life.

People often feel that they are masked while making rude comments online. They feel they can say whatever they want and not have to worry about consequences. I would say 99% of the people who say rude things online would never say them in person.

I have it on good authority that it's George W. Washington. Either that or Sir Anon Y. Nimous the 3rd, who was like from England or something. Asked on the internet and this person whose username was "truthyguy" gave me that answer and he was all like "u shuld believ me becuz i am an honest persun & ttlly am not a tr0ll i promizse" so I trust him.

Because you know, he promised.

People misconstrue what they read since the words are read and not spoken aloud. It's easy for some people to feel offended or threatened, particularly if their mastery of written language is....lacking. A person might even seem angry due to their wording even if they actually aren't.

Also, I think most people aren't really even genuinely angry, they just try to troll responses.
