especially recently, i've been finding myself slacking off in my schoolwork. i let it all pile up to the point where it doesn't even get done because i just don't feel like doing it. i tell myself "don't stress out, just do it later" and then later rolls around and i make up excuses like "oh it isn't even that big a chunk of your grade, you can just do it before class starts, who cares about the quality" and naturally, when i get a bad grade, i complain. it's becoming a serious problem.

i lack motivation. i put the internet before my work. i think "hey, going on tumblr is totally better than doing that essay" and i tell myself i'll only stay on for 10 minutes, then i'll do my work, but of course 10 minutes turns into an hour, an hour into 2, and so on and so on. I just can't motivate myself to get anything done. i've even been cancelling on going out because i'd rather stay home and watch anime (don't get me wrong though; i love anime to death, but i also really like hanging out with my friends) i just don't feel like getting dressed or getting out of bed.

this lazy attitude of mine got me put in summer school. i had to waste my summer in an unfamiliar building taking classes with people i hate to make up credits i lost because i just "didn't feel" like doing the work. there was even a chance i'd have to repeat the 10th grade (which, thank god i don't have to do). i can't blame anyone else for that; as much as i'd like to. it's my own fault for putting my priority into the wrong things.

i need to fix this before school starts next week, i'm not going through any of that again. i can't. they'll kick me out of my school.

so, i'd like to ask you guys if you have the same problems. do you ever find yourself in my situation? do you get lazy? does it compromise your schoolwork? and most importantly, do you have any tips that could help me focus and stay on track? any study tips? Thank you in advance!

I totally understand how you feel, I haven't even started my summer homework yet and it's due in a few days. Some tips that could probably help you into getting motivated is maybe putting some relaxing music and try to concentrate hard or to turn off the internet so you can get work done. Good luck and sorry if my tips don't help

yo I agree with faji, music can help but its not for everyone, everyone different. I had this habit while I was in high school, I put of everything till the last minute -.-' which was not exactly wise. Though I never had to spend a whole summer in summer school thank god. My words of advice is just give yourself a few minutes to do your homework, you honestly don't have to do it all at once. Do small sections if you can't do it all. Also when your online and waiting for a video to load or a response, use that free time to do a question or 2. I hope this helps you even if its a tiny bit ! Oh btw I read your profile and saw you liked romance anime, I created a group when CR wasn't so strict with its content -.-
http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/Romance_and_Comedy_Anime_Fan_Club you may use it to look up romance type anime but it also has comedy in it ^^ *warning* its no longer updated or active. Well good luck. Its never too late to do better in school ^^

i'm lazy at times when i feel like i should be lying around on my bed and just sleep. that's all i do. but then i'm the kind of person who "doesn't waste time" and makes everything efficient and productive. xDD lol.

It really depends. If it involves building a PC for someone, I can go crazy and spend weeks researching parts and well over 10+ hours fine tuning the build and making it look perfect inside.

If it's anything else, I'm usually just a gelatinous blob that doesn't move.

My goodness, so many similarities...
I, too, am very lazy, and have often put off my work until the last minute. Only difference is that having to rush through my work is the only thing that motivates me. When I'm first given an assignment, I usually don't care what happens if I don't do it, but then when I start running out of time, I think about what will happen if the work doesn't get done and then I rush through it.

So I guess that's the only advice I can really give... Just think about what will happen if you don't do the work. For me, it was being embarrassed in front of my classmates. (I'm a very shy person and don't like to attract attention to myself.)

But yeah, laziness has become a big problem for me as well. I've never gotten to the point where I had to deal with summer school, but I'm going into my last year of high school and was supposed to do a bunch of college prep stuff this summer (which I didn't do, of course). Then again, I'm not even sure what I'm going to do about college, but that's a whole other can of worms to deal with... :/

I'm pretty lazy myself, but some how I keep motivate myself to get up and keep working.

From what I know which suits best, you need a quiet place to work without any distractions such as the computer or mobile phone.

I also think you won't get kicked from school from not doing homework but you might get detention for a very long time.
