I got in the beta for friday night, so does anyone else have the privilege to participate in beta?

same. too bad i had work during the testing period so i didn't even get to play..

The game it's okay but personally for me im not going to be the person that is willing to pay 15 dollars a month, which in a time were most mmorpgs are turning to f2p because they're less users online. i give this game a year until it turns f2p.Look what happen to WoW, it almost had 10 million players online when it was at their prime but not anymore, there are too many good fp2 mmos that you really dont need pay a single cent to experience the full game.

i might be willing. they're doing a fantastic job with TES:O so far. no mmorpg out right now interests me sadly..guild wars 2 is pretty awesome and fun though. Tera online is pretty sweet, but i just cant be bothered to play.
i'll have to see how the games turns out to be when it's released :P.

Guild Wars 2 looks pretty good, but you got remember that the game online service is free which is very pleasing, unlike TES: O. and yet is still a close beta. Is a known fact TES: O is going to have a lot players because is an elder scrolls game but are too many games that are releasing every week that are taking people attention, not mention that next gen console are releasing next month. it's a very interesting upcoming year where will see whether TES;O succeed or fail.

Another example is MMO that was pay subscription based is Star Wars the old republic. if i remember they're subscription was also $15 for a month and look what happen, it went free 2 play within a year

Yea, they had like an interview with some people developing TES:O and the reasoning behind their paid model subscription. one of the questions was related to how SWTOR failed and had to switch to f2p. They devs gave their reasons on it being p2p, and as much as i dont like that, i'm still going to check out the game--which is what all the other elder scrolls fans are probably thinking too.
I see your point, though. All we can do is wait and see how things go when it's released cx. i'd MUCH prefer if elder scrolls went f2p straight from the start, or did what guild wars has always done. but thats not my decision.

it'll definitely impact them a lot with a subscription model. i know there's a lot of people who aren't willing to subscribe to play. that's how i felt about WoW, but i know a lot of people who were willing to subscribe to play. same thing with runescape.

in all honesty, if the game is amazing (and i think it might be), then i might be willing to pay 15$ a month. heck, my gym membership is more.

Definitely going to give it a shot. Was playing WoW until Pandaria came and killed the game for me. I miss being involved with an mmo. Plus all of my friends enjoy Skyrim/Oblivion. So maybe this is the perfect way to get them to play an MMO :)

(Let's hope it's not too ridiculous of a monthly fee )

I'll give it a try, just because I'm a fan of the previous Elder Scrolls game.

I'll play it if it has a trial, but I don't plan on buying it as of now, I don't really expect them to be able to pull off a real single-player Elder Scrolls experience in an MMO.

I am glad it's a subscription game though, if theres one thing that would kill an Elder Scrolls experience straight off, it would be gating chinks of content behind a free-to-play model. For TES everything needs to be available with just a time investment, and not an absurd grind time investment, but a reasonable one, like in the single player games.

I do not plan to play it. MMO's were fun way back, but at my age I don't think I have the patience for the new people that crowd servers.

I know a few people wanting to play though. I just couldn't do it again. I liked community games where everyone was alone, but we were alone together and that is why we could "accomplish" things as a unit. I don't really think current MMOs, or even this one, can have that community aspect to it because gaming (and MMO gaming specifically) is so popular. There was always bad apples in things like EQ, FFXI, vanilla WoW, but people on a server knew them and we shunned them. Spoilage is too numerous for me to get into it despite having an interest.

I like p2p models.

Hopefully they partner up with the modders with character design and such. So mods can be mainstreamed into a mmorpg --> leads to players customizing the game to their preferences rather than the classic lower shaders / resolution / anti aliasing stuff lol

Nope. I like the elder scrolls games well enough but after playing the beta I don't think I would even play this game if it was completely free with all content available. It wasn't even the bugs that ruined it for me though so, yes, I know it is a beta and things need to be worked out still but these aren't things that will get changed unless they pull an FFXIV and completely overhaul it.
