So how was everyone's experience on the beta PS3 or PC? How far did you get? What problems did you experience in game or non at all? Will you continue when the game makes it official release?

Personally I enjoyed the game better than I was expecting on the PS3, got to lvl 18 with Thaumaturge and lvl 8 with Arcanist. Did most of the main quests, as for problems didn't encounter any besides the login issues here and there, since I was playing it on the PS3 there was some noticeable slow FPS as to be expected since the PS3 is very outdated compared to PC's of today and the lowered graphics otherwise ran good enough for me, plus sitting on the couch playing on a 61" flat-screen is to die for. Otherwise excited for the official release and as one who pre-ordered the game can get early access on the 24th. Stoked~

It was great, from like the hour I put in to it, I was kinda busy unfortunately it looks really, really good (I'm playing on PC btw). The bug I encountered seemed to be failing to connect to the server, idk why but without my internet even cutting out it happened about 4 times during that hour :/

Well glad to see someone else enjoyed the game even with an hour of it lol. It's a huge leap in the right direction since the 1.0 version.
Pretty convenient that all the servers are linked together PC and PS3 besides the worlds.
Yea, I encounter the same issue, it was mostly due to the servers being overfull with players or waiting in que for space to join. Other than that it ran very smoothly for a beta, can only expect even better results upon the launch.

Game is design to be friendly to new players who never played an MMORPG before. This drives the hardcore players nuts on the beta forums.

Story line is easily soloable up to level 15, then there are several easy 4 man dungeons that you can use duty finder to form a group for. Dungeons take about 30-40 minutes to complete. I don't know much about the story line past level 20 since Open Beta ended there.

Hard content is at end game which is level 50.

I completed the following in Open Beta
Gladiator: 20
Marauder: 20
Lancer: 18
Arcanist: 17
Pugilist: 15
Conjurer: 7

I did run into one bug where I would get kicked out of cut-scene for the level 5 arcanist quest if a monster hits me; SE acknowledged it an will fix it.

I'm playing on a high end PC, which is over kill for the game. Frame rate is extremely smooth. I use the controller UI with wireless Xbox 360 controller.

I'm a FF fan so I love it a lot and I'll be in it for the long haul.

That sounds cool. I never had much more than an hour and a half a day to play FF11 on average. And, OMG, duty finder sounds awesome because waiting for party members was intolerable in 11.

BTW, how is item pricing in 14, and does loot actually sell for something? Everything was so expensive in 11.

I got to play with my 1.0 character on the last day, which was great. Got her up to 15 (I didn't start playing 1.0 until it was almost time to shut it down )before beta was over. Since 1.0 players get a free 2 weeks, I'm gonna do as much as I can in that time, before I finally give in and sub, because I'm addicted.

While leveling you can just use gear from side quests, class quests and good gear from dungeons. I only really needed to buy pants for a quest which was cheap from npc. I'm not entirely sure for the best gear, I think those will be bind on pickup from dungeons mostly. I haven't bothered to use market boards(Auction House) yet

Only problem with duty finder right now is damage dealers have a long queue time because of the shortage of tanks and healers. Queue time for tanks and healers is less than a minute.

Couldn't have said it better myself Pseudopsia

I believe this MMORPG is good to new comers and veterans of all, upon launch this game offer so much any could easily drown themselves it the world of FFXIV. So much to do, explore, lvl, craft, etc.

Had even read articles of Housing & Marriage in game for first patch update. Not sure if anyone else is stoked for that, but I sure am. The customization for housing will be like no other MMORPG. Detailed furnishing customization, chocobo stables, garden, small-large house, kitchen, bedroom, etc.
Anyways so much to look forward to, cannot wait to pick up my CE copy on the 27th.

& agreed, hope the Duty finders is fixed, the wait for player searches was crazy. Lol
Now just patiently waiting for NA servers to be finished with maintenance

I enjoyed playing XI but so far XIV feels like a chore. I'm also incredibly disappointed that NA/EU servers were always down during my playtime so I swapped to JP just so I could have a knock around character to mess around with. If it's this bad now I wouldn't want to imagine whats going to happen on the official launch date.
