I'm preparing for the incoming Animefest convention in my area, and I'm building a RX-78-2 Prototype Gundam Cosplay out of EVA Foam

Also known as "The OG" or Original Gundam.

I've got the primary chest going on, but I'm quite lost on how to get the head out of Eva Foam. It's the first Foam cosplay build I've got and I've got rather crude cutting tools of a Knife and Hot Knife, nothing "exact" here.

Need help on how to build the Helm and how I should go about painting it.

AND I'VE GOT LIKE A WEEK LEFT, but plenty of time to work on it.

I'm.. not really sure you can finish that kind of an armor in a week if you currently have the chest. It's going to be a lot of work!

For the head, though, there are a few options:
Get a Wig Head (available at most beauty stores, some craft stores) and start shaping the foam around it with a heat gun.
Get a thin helmet, like a baseball helmet, and use it as a base for the head.

How thick is the EVA foam you're working with?

I believe it's your basic 1m or 10mm thinkness Eva Foam you'd find at Ace hardware or Homedepo.

My friend and I are duo-building our cosplays, and we've just finished all but the painting on his Canti cosplay we've been building. Next up we're focusing on the Gundam, which has far more simple shapes and less Heat-gun mayhem from what I can tell. The Arms and Legs are a no-problem to me, the feet are questionable but I'm sure we can work things out with that or even go without that part. I'm most concerned with the body, helmet, and forearms. I have a helmet but it's a bycicle one, not a baseball one, and i've had tons of problems getting that to build a head out of, so I was wondering if anybody has some strong ideas to build a Gundam helmet.

Accuracy isn't my key concern, mobility and resemblance is. If they see it and go "that's the original gundam" I'm fine with that.

Oh, and if I can have a lot of mobility, I'm not a fan of Box-Gundam, shuffling along at the speed of sluggish.
