Post Reply Is there any anime you can't watch sub but watch dub
Posted 12/6/15
Actually, I watch all my anime in dubbed.

The only reason why I even have a Crunchyroll is because I want to be at the latest episode of One Piece since it takes a while for it to be dubbed. While spending time on Crunchyroll just for One Piece, I've decided that I might as well watch other subbed anime such as Ace of the Diamond, Space Brothers, and Wagnaria. It's a little painful but I really doubt that these three anime will ever be in dubbed any time soon :'(

the struggle is real with dub-only fans ^^, for me the only thing that comes to mind is pokemon & mew mew powers, i cant watch them on sub its sooo painful

Funimation does a pretty good job with dubs in my opinion. I can usually flip between dubbed and subbed but there are a few that I can only watch subbed (shojo stuff usually) and others that NEED to be dubbed: DB/DBZ, FMA/FMA Brotherhood, Black Butler (not the best dub in my opinion but they are in England and Daniel Fredrick is amazing as Grell), and Kamisama Kiss (for some random ass reason). I also strongly prefer the dubs of Soul Eater, Ouran, One Piece, and School Rumble- though I go both ways if I must.

The only dubbed anime that makes sense to me is Soul Eater. Dropped the series, but the dub was great. On the other hand, I can't bear Ed Elric's voice in the dubbed ver of FMA:B

For me I can't watch kenichi the mightiest deciple subbed. His voice is too weird. Some anime are perfect dubbed and subbed like toradora.

Well there's no anime in my native language anyway so watching sub is pretty much the same for me. Now that I've learned enough Japanese to watch some anime without anything it's even less meaningful.

So yeah, nothing comes to mind.

There are some that I simply cant stand watchin' sub. One fine example was DBZ.

e__e Every time I hear the undubbed version of Goku, I cringe. Sounds as if his privates got caught on a car door.

Only one anime I can't watch in sub is Ouran, it was one of my first shows where I was a noob so was like boo subs. I loved it so much I watched it at least 15 times in English so now even though the Japanese VAs are amazing for the series, I just can't

Ouran High School Host Club can be sub or dub, but I like watching it in dub when i feel down. I specially like the commentary (-.-)b

I need to watch Baccano dubbed as it just fits the series so much more. Also I can't take it seriously once I hear Sakata Gintoki's voice
