Oh wow, thats really sad to hear. Haruhi was one of the big animes for me that got me so addicted to watching anime like I am now. I do not really know much about the manga and I have not really read it but it is still sad to hear it end!

Because the manga's run out of material to adapt and Nogaru Tanigawa is becoming the Japanese equivalent of George R.R. Martin -- since 2007 he's only written two volumes in the series, and those were really one novel split in half.

Well the manga did have a few original story lines and the current arc seems to be an alternate ending of sorts tho it's hard to say how much it differs from LN since not any chaps out in English. Anyway with this ending maybe Nagaru will have more time to work on the novels I certainly hope so. Im still holding out for a new anime season once he completes it

Kinda sad about this. I have yet to read volume 15 of the manga. 16 and 17 come out later this year from Yen Press, but not sure how next year's releases will go. Sort of erratic releases recently.
