The host, the book was great, the movie was good but they left out a whole bunch of stuff and changed stuff and killed off people that didn't die in the book and the movie kinda dragged on and got kinda boring

Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief. That movie made me laugh really hard. Grover was hilarious. That could have been done much, much better because it was actually a good book series.

WHAT?!?! Both the original and remake movie were really well done!!

Beowulf. The movie was NOTHING like the book. Great soundtrack tho, still disappointing movie. It left alot to be desired.

You have clearly not read the book. Daisy was a complete bxtch in the book and only wanted Gatsby because of the money (she cries because she cannot believe she missed out on the money she could have gotten with Gatsby). They completely romanticized her and made her seem like some sweet angel.
That was the crucial part of the book, and the movie completely turned it the other way around. She didn't love him until she found out he had money.

But cinematic wise, I guess the movie was decent. Nice frilly and fake costumes which complemented the fakeness of that era. :3

(You can tell I read the book before I saw the movie) I give it a 6/10:P

I read the book before watching BOTH movies back in 2009, so please let's not jump to conclusions. She did love Gatsby. Do you remember the part where he went off to war and she would wait for him? When he never came home she moved on? She did love him. And had he came home when he said he would she would have married him, but he and she didn't. I get what your saying but the Daisy you describe is a matter of opinion. She is not described that way in the book nor the movie. Never once did it SAY she was a good digger or IMPLIED she was one, never once. That is an image YOU conjured up.

To me, the absolute worst book to movie adaptation has to be the 1997 Starship Troopers movie.
It completely distorted, or ignored the themes and story of the novels in favor of the director pushing his own politics which have just about zero to do with anything that is actually discussed or occurs in the book.

Looks like they may try again and reboot the series. We'll see:

Hey all,

After yet another disappointing book adaptation (World War Z), I got to thinking what was the WORST ever book to movie...

Personally, one of my fave books has always been 'I am Legend'.

One of the greatest books ever written and the point behind it was completely missed by the movie adaptation...

For anyone who reads, please read this book. The movie was utterly pointless and disregarded completely the genius in this story.

However, I have probably been mislead myself by seeing a movie and not reading the book, any recommendations?

The main problem is the authors of the books dont write the screenplay adaption either during the book writing process or after. That would help some but any author who needs money will sell out and wont care what happens to their work knowing thy will make a ton of money.

Agreed, I can't stand the way the movie ended up compared to the book it was so far off that it didn't even matter if you read the book everyone hated it.

Blood and Chocolate. It's so completely different from the book that I just can't even associate the two. Eragon is also up there as pretty bad as well, as many others have said.
