It's just become so ingrained in my weekly routine. To start off the weekend, I like to have a glass of wine. If I go out with friends, I like to order a drink or two. I appreciate the feeling of happiness that it brings. TBH, I dislike staying completely sober for weeks and months. I see nothing wrong with being not sober, as long as one is not roaring drunk and causing trouble and doing great harm to themselves and the people around them.

In its own way, it is also a nice bonding session with trustworthy friends. Go out every couple of weeks, drink, watch movies and smoke a little in a comfortable house while listening to music, wake up the following day feeling super chill.

Taste is understandable, especially at first. But the feeling of being not sober self? I find that it is a great stress reliever. It's a different feeling from going to the gym or eating good food, etc. I personally view it as no different from the 'feelgood' that other activities bring and, thus, I do not understand why a lot of conservative people condone alcohol/drug use. Sure, it might be harmful if I drink a lot but that usually isn't the case. And most everything is capable of doing noticeable harm if indulged in too much.

I see, so you are talking in a more personal sense like it's horrible if you do not drink at all? When I read it, I kind of thought you were talking about not drinking in general. But I can understand what you mean. I really have nothing against that. If you can control / moderate your own vice, then there's no harm, I guess.

To be honest even if you drink 24/7, it's your body and your life that it's affecting and it has absolutely nothing to do with me, so I really don't care either way. That's just how I look at it. I was really just curious about what you were trying to say.

Yeah, I meant it in a personal sense. I'm not trying to apply it to everyone lol

Drinking has nearly ended a wonderful relationship for me, so i'm kinda cautious when it comes to drinking in any large amount. It's probably a good idea to figure out how your significant other feels about alcohol before you get randomly drunk though. If you love drinking and they are very against the whole idea, then you can either stop for them and "change" your behavior, or you can dump them and look for someone who shares the same values. Though if you are an alcoholic it's probably best to find help more so than someone who is also an alcoholic. Just my two cents.

Your screen name and response to this thread is curious to me because I had an Uncle Tim who died from liver failure due to drinking at the age of 49 so it's good to see that you are not drinking

My answer to this thread is: I like to drink with people but I like to drink by myself more, so it's not really important to me if someones drinks or not.
I wonder if the Original Poster does any drugs at all....

I don't like drinking alcohol at all ...beer, champagne, liquor. It tastes horrible but then again I'm told it's for the affect not the taste. Screw that give me a chocolate bar >:c ! I don't hang around people that drink so I don't really have a "problem" for not liking alcohol .. so yeah

Some people can drink recreationaly, but some people (like myself) have learned the hard way that is poisonous to your body and soul. It's unfortunate that young people feel peer pressure to drink because nothing really good comes from it. Why limit yourself? Being square is cool!

I know it isn't for me. Mostly because all alcohol tastes like crap, so I don't even go near the stuff. <.<

I like to drink. I like the taste of alcohol and drink a moderate amount daily. I also like to party and get drunk with people, so sometimes I do that too. And when I have guests over I get them drunk, because that's the hospitable thing to do.

But I don't care if anyone else drinks or not. Usually if someone doesn't drink they have a good reason for it, and I totally respect that. But I also make the non-drinkers drive me around.

I drink pretty regularly and I have no problem hanging out with friends who don't drink. Its just an activity, its not really important to me if others do or don't, as its their decision if they want to or not.

Drinking is so important that in the past i had to choose between a weeks worth of groceries or beer. So I went to the store bought three packs of hotdogs the ones on sale for a lil less than a dollar and a box of ramen and the rest went to beer. So the whole week all i had to eat was hotdog and ramen.

I don't drink. I hate the idea of messing with my brain, even temporarily. My mind is my best friend, and I'd be hella confused and bored if it started acting out of character. Most of my friends drink though, and I certainly don't hold it against them, unless they take it to excess, in which case I'll mock them mercilessly in the hope they'll try to be more moderate in future.

Is it being drunk and being scared shit brings the real you?
Those two options take out the safety lock and skips even the subconscious.
