very inappropriate, but this comes immediately to mind. Even mentions corneas xD

Now then, I don't see why attacking a child for this is surprising, regardless of whether it happened in China or not. The article said that many people consider childrens' organs to be of better quality due to their age. I can agree but depending on what you're harvesting the size won't work too well if it's put in an adult patient. While I can't exactly agree with them going after the kid, children are easy targets. They usually can't fathom that there are people who want to hurt or kill them. Also they're easy to manhandle, easier to knockout or injure. Honestly the social stigma against attacking kids is so severe, while I can't blame the animal instinct to protect the herd's young, when you get down to it it makes sense to go after the weak.

REEEEPOMAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!

Uhhh no. There is truth in that statement, who steals people's eyes just to get the membrane on top? Even OP thought that was questionable.

Try again

Would have made a bigger buck if they kept the whole body and salvaged ALL the organs.

Holy fuck what is wrong with people . Why would you take away a child's vision who hasn't even begun seeing the world yet, however someone who's in dire need who may have already seen the world longer ,needs them.

The cornea is the only part of the eye that can used for transplants. Ergo the only part of the eye that's valuable is the cornea.

The apparent callousness of your post would lead to few other conclusions. Usually a callous remark on sensitive or tragic topics is a flamebait. I apologize if it was not your intent.

That's what I was thinking, in the US a kidney can go for like $50,000; I think heart valves go for even more.

That's very heartbreaking to think about: A child being kidnapped and experiencing traumatic and excruciating pain just for his corneas. I hope the law enforcements find whoever did that to the boy.

I wonder how far it had to go and how it was transported.
I'd laugh if they were, rotting, infected, the wrong size and rejected by the new owner's immune system.
Unless of course it were part of a scam and the new owner was also a victim.

Yeah, traffic is pretty bad these days isn't it? Damn roadworks.

But in all seriousness as disgusted as I am to hear stuff like this, the reality is thousands of people are injured, diagnosed with terrible diseases and illnesses, or even die every day. The world is a dark place.

It doesn't say.

But he's 6 and probably playing near his house.

When I was 4, I was already walking around the local market by myself. I feel fortunate that nobody kidnapped me...
My sister who was supposed to look after me always sent me on errands to buy things for her.

Natural causes don't upset me as much...

(well sometimes it does, I work with people aged 0-18 years, and sometimes I get cases of little babies with cancer... and... I feel really upset).
