What's wrong with white people? The real question is: Where are all the Asian girls?

They come in two forms. Racist, and in a inter-racial marriage.

If you're not married, that doesn't automatically make you racist however. What am I, a feminist?(my sister is a feminist, and agrees that I am too, but she also believes that me being a man makes me sexist, and that women can't be sexist, my sister is as weird as me sometimes)

ANYHOW. how you react to THIS post is what leads me to decide of you're a sexist or not! The answer will surprise you if you are. (it's a trap, all "are you racist" questions are traps!)

Yeah, I'm in a chatty mood.

ANYHOW. The media is as loaded with white people as minorities are loaded with white supremacy fears.

Think about how much the media influenced you when growing up.The TV shows you watched, the characters you liked. The actors playing the characters of the shows that displayed.

It's sure awesome when they look like you right? You get to be the faceless protagonist. The Blue-haired-Harem-guy. The Brown-haired-super-powers-boy. I have far more in common with Will Smith in Fresh prince than the majority of white-guy pandering shows out there!

It's far worse for women unfortunately, they're rarely Link, Mario, Batman, Spiderman, or Gundam Protagonist. They have Samus sure, but a girl all in armor? You rarely know she's a Girl! Only those who want to learn about it learn about it!

But um...yeah. When you type in Cosplay in youtube, the first two responses are "for Beginners" and "for blacks"

It's hard when you don't look like society's standard man, and man, white kids just don't understand(usually. You will find those who do understand, they're actually recognizable the moment you speak to them)

It's also EXTREMELY visible at Con's. The Stereotypical Nerd not withstanding, walking up to someone you don't know is far more difficult when you're a 5,11 dark skinned man with jet black hair than it would be if you were white with blonde hair and blue eyes (also known as the type of men women crave, AND(to me) Hitlers Dream)

Yeah, chatty. And rather loaded. Don't take anything I say negatively, that would be bad. I just like to talk a lot. And type, especially type.

Cosplay for blacks?

Let's examine this. Who makes anime? The Japanese. How many Japanese people are black? Almost none. So it would only make sense that there would be no black Japanese characters.

It's not so much the lack of black characters as it is the dissociation black people will have.

I'm asian enough to understand the Black/Blue haired protagonists, but not enough to get or like the Brown haired ones. I like Ghost in the Shell as a movie series, but Makoto is to much chick for me to handle in my shows, she just isn't the thing that attracts me to series.

Japan is also famously Xenophobic so, the fact that we have a few awesome black characters is pushing it.

At least we have Ryu Jose, proving that black people are too good for Gundam since 79. Did he pilot a gundam? No. Did he out-shine our gundam pilot Amuro Ray? Hell yeah.

There are a large number of Directors. I love how Kill'em All Tomino focuses on non-japanese protagonists all the time, by the time you got to Gundam Wing, you had "japanese guy" again, since Tomino wasn't directing anymore!

Then you got Attack on TItan. Where the majority of characters are European to an extent. I can't wait until the introduce a black guy....if ever.

Most Senein series, as well as a fair number of shounen.

Everything from the good directors of Studio Gainax, and a large number of Studio Shaf's work.

Stuido I.G. too big to ignore their recent success, Guilty Crown, AoT, SAO, and Psychopass if you're lucky

I can't wait until the upcoming Magi; Season 2, that show just surprised me at every turn. And my Steins;Gate DVD's are going to come in eventually, or so I hope.

And I watch a lot of Berserk, I've got the DVD set and I re watch it every few months. Samurai based anime is also highly rated with me, but they're able to fall short rather easily due to the amount that exists. I'm a huge fan of European based Fantasy anime, those that manage to break out of Japanese cultural bias tend to be rather amazing. You can tell the difference between Western and eastern swordsmanship and values with how the cultures evolved. IF it's set in Europe, and the characters are focused on "improving their swordsmanship" and then do a lot of Kendo Training with a double-edged Arming Sword, they did not do the research.

Um, I like Romance a bunch, hence my recent Katanagatari love. It's got Japanese roots down right into the bone. And THAT HOT SPRINGS SCENE!

It was just so downplayed, so natural. Despite the underlying "come on dude bang me" vibe the Heroine was taking, the scene lacked any sexual tension, it was just natural.

Eh, I talk about what I'm into. I really like watching the older 80's and 90's series right now. They treated the Genre right. As they say, the early 2000's is full of Off-brand Moe and Harem. Just the past few years in our 2010's have we got some of the more juicy titles poping back out into our faces. But come on, the romance and strong female Characters of Gundam are great, and I'd say under-represented. OG Gundam is just so old, fewer and fewer people have seen it. It's extremely outdated, the characters have Afro hair, one-color robots piloted by two-color pilots. The Animation and cinematography last very well to this day but dayum it's age shows. If I manage to get one person to watch it, the world is a better place.

I mean, its' far better to spend a week on OG Gundam than a single day on...let me think up something bad recently.....Valrave the Liberator!
Yeah, I'm trying to watch Valrave, but it's feeling more like a Gundam Parody than a Gundam Ripoff at this point. Everything Sunrise does is simply "Another Gundam" anyways.
EEhhhhh, I guess that comparison works. I don't think Valrave is that bad, but when you compare it to Tomino's gundam, it has nothing to offer.

Don't hope, do!

Save up yo cash, gather your friends, announce your plans, build your cosplay!

Prepare for it all, and run towards the conventions with your heads held high, and your pockets brought low with huge wads of cash!
