On the other hand, this sort of thing really shouldn't happen. In general, unless you're in a life-or-death situation, it's a bad idea to use medicines or medical procedures that haven't been exhaustively tested. Most of them have been, because even though (or because) doctors know vastly more about biochemistry than the average person, they're aware of the fact that our understanding of the ludicrously complicated human body is crude, at best. If something hasn't been tested enough, there's no telling what side effects it might have.

Yeah, and the vaccine in question was an emergency-measure H1N1 vaccine being rushed to high-risk individuals. At the time, there seemed to be a strong possibility that H1N1 had the potential for a global pandemic like the Spanish Flu of 1918 (which actually didn't originate in Spain). For anyone who doesn't know, the disease in Steven King's The Stand was modelled after the Spanish Flu - fever, horrible congestion, a thick blue neck, and death within 18 hours. It killed about 100 million people, most of them in the prime of their lives, and is absolutely terrifying.

I think the other one I heard a few years ago is the government made it manditory for all girls of age 11 to get a cervical cancer jab (not sure quite what it is but it was something to do with needing to have it pre-sexual maturity and reducing risks/causes/something). At any rate a load of nutters went off about how this'll just cause girls to get 'even more promiscuous' at a young age since they dont have to worry about cervical cancer. Are you shitting me?

I always like what you have to say. The "cervical cancer jab" is an HPV vaccine called Gardasil. HPV (human papilloma virus) is a virus that with many forms that causes warts, and the vaccine protects against the two forms of HPV that cause genital warts, wherever they may be found (use your imagination). Genital warts caused by HPV are responsible for about 95% of cervical cancers. It has since been approved for males from age 9-26 and females up to 45.

My son will be getting this vaccine when he turns 9, because he's inherited my way with women and it's just a matter of time before he puts his thing somewhere he shouldn't.

Hes sub 8 and hes a womanizer already? Clearly having gay parents makes your kids gay right? It must be an airborne disease I mean.

That explains the pre-sexual maturity thing, inoculate before they start trying anything I suppose. In a side note I dont really understand what all these cries of promiscuity are, I'm not promiscuous (at least not successfully) but I definately remember being curious as both a kid and a teenager. Its only natural numpties, kids are inquisitive.

He's turning 9 in a couple months, but pretty much. He doesn't let a bikini pass him by without flirting with the girl inside it. He's not sure what will happen if her bikini comes off, but he knows he's going to like it (his words). A friend of mine that I've known since I was 18 saw him in action once and laughed that he acts just like me. So I guess he inherited womanizing from me rather than being a homo. But even if he grows up to be gayer than a May Day pole, he's definitely going to sleep around. It can't be helped, so I might as well protect him as much as possible.

Vaccinations are helpful in a variety of ways, but it can be dangerous. I, personally, do not have a good past with vaccinations. For instance, after I got the first shots of my life (I think), I became extremely sick and limp as a noodle. After I got the vaccination against chicken pox, I developed chicken pox a short time after. But, overall, I believe vaccinations is helpful to society.

The pluses totes blow away any of the supposed negatives when it comes to taking vaccines or not. The chance of getting smallpox and numerous lawsuits against you me and my family is enough to convince me.

I remember a girl from my class died from the chicken pox when I was younger. Her Mother took her to a "Chicken Pox Party". By that time the chicken pox shot was already out.

So yeah, I am pro-vaccination.
