Right now I have a strong urge to replay a couple of games that I loved when I was a kid. Seeing as how I can no longer find the original disks that I had, I started searching Amazon and Ebay for the games. Suddenly, my eyes are stricken with the assault of prices that range from $700 to $1000!!! Only a maniac would spend that kind of money on a game!

The games are Suikoden 2 for the PS1 (one of my favorite rpg's)
and Mobile Suit Gundam Federation vs Zeon for the PS2

There are emulators online you can use to play games. I have always wanted to play Kingdom Hearts but I didn't have a ps2. I just downloaded PCSX2 and I am proud to say I completed both 1 and 2! You need a strong PC for games or else you get stuck with terrible FPS. I didn't have trouble with KH but I lag so hard in Jak and Daxter. Enough of my rambling .

The only games I had an urge to play was Paper Mario on my 64. I still have it so I just went and beat it like 4 times. Yeah, I have a life.

I would love to play the legend of dragoon again. Its a ps1 game and given that I haven't looked too much into how expensive it would be I know I don't have that much fun money. plus I'd need the console too which I can only imagine would be a couple hundred. I tried getting a gamecube controller a few months back and was shocked at how much they have climbed in price so going even further back to search for ps1 stuff might just make me cry

I would like to replay Crystal but its hard to find a copy (or even a Gameboy Color) of it nowadays. I know I can play on an emulator but I want to play without almost making it a speed-run.

Awesome yeah well i guess emulators would be the only way to actually play the game inexpensive, i was looking to get yu-gi-oh forbidden memories for ages an eventually just decided to get it on an emulator, runs smooth but only the controls are a pain to get the hang of . =]

Doom 64

A copy can run anywhere from $5 to $50. I know about those mods that will alter the PC version of Doom into Doom 64 but I haven't tried it.

I wanna play this old game for the original Playstation called Jersey Devil. I borrowed it from a friend years and years ago and was hooked and can't find it at any of the retro game stores around here. T^T I'm a weirdo who seems to have enjoy looking through piles of games to try to find these things instead of just ordering it online. Lol. There's something so fulfilling about finding that game or book or what have you after hunting for it for so long.

I suppose emulators are the best way to replay a lot of the older games but I only have a cheap laptop. The only emulators that I can play comfortably are the ones that emulate old school Nintendo consoles.

I have found that my original PS2 works just fine but my 2007 PS3 Fat can't even start properly! It's funny how a lot of the ps3's and xbox 360's consoles would have problems like the "red ring of death" but the older models can still work reliably even through decades of disuse. Additionally, the current and next gen consoles also have the problem with lack of backwards compatibility and some of the gaming content will be lost if you are not playing online.

I've recently started playing some ps2 gems, like persona 4.

(btw a old ps2 console will cost about $30 on amazon)

Yu Gi Oh forbidden memories? Lol, I remember that one. I would always cheat and use my gameshark to get the best cards like "ultimate great super moth of death" or some B.S.

Spyro the Dragon, the very first one. I LOVED that game. But I actually still play it, just on an emulator. ^_^

Sonic Adventure 2 for the gamecube.
I played it in Portugal with my cousins and I absolutely loved it. I really liked the chao garden feature because they were so awesome to take care of and unique! I don't have it unfortunately but hopefully someday I can play it again.
