Well, considering that I live in Australia where the minimum wage is around $15 - 16 and hour. It wouldn't change a thing. I'm actually proud that we have this.

Aus FTW!!!

no, it's a corporation after all. They would have to raise the prices of the food if that happened.

Depend. They wouldn't have to. I believe BlueOni stated that McDonalds in particular has been able to turn quite the profit in down periods.

HELL no.

EMT's here SAVE LIVES, They make between 10$ and 14 dollars an hour!!!
If you're telling me that in this country, fast food is valued more than life saving, I'm moving to Canada. -.-

(PS, yes, I know what I am talking about with EMT salaries since I'm with a fire department in my city.)

You don't go there to make money. Just saying.

Back on topic, I would be against forcing the minimum wage to be any higher than it should to be considered living. I mean, don't we have welfare? Why raise the minimum wage? Where is my tax dollars going?

Realistically you couldn't pay them those rates (they don't deserve it anyways) without raising the prices. Which kind of defeats the purpose of fast food restaurants...

It's unskilled labor. No education or experience is needed. It's a JOB, not a CAREER. If you want to make it a career that's on you.

You want more money? Get an education or learn a trade and find an employer that pays for skilled labor. Take a look at the people that are striking and that will tell you all you need to know.

Lesson to all you kids out there... Don't take your education lightly. You can either coast through life and end up like these people, or you can make something of yourself and realize your potential. Don't squander it.

I'm not saying these are bad people in any way, but it's ridiculous to think you deserve $15.

Whatever. Maybe then, they will be cleaner. I n longer even buy coffee at a cafe because the people just put me off.

That's ridiculous. $15/hour is way too much. Regardless, fast-food work doesn't require much skills nor education to get a job like that. If high school students (who likely have yet to even receive their high school diplomas) can land these types of jobs, then I don't see a purpose in giving this kind of money to these types of workers.

Definitely way to much. Seattle restaurants are closing left and right because of minimum wage hike and McDonald's is trying self service touch screen ordering to cut staff in over-inflated wage areas (Portland, Seattle)

Hell no. People should be paid what they're worth. The minimum wage solves nothing. Better to get experience at lousy wages than be unemployed. With experience comes negotiating power. The best way to create jobs is to remove all the red tape to hire. Raise the rate too high, get robots. Don't believe me?

Here's a great video on why the minimum wage is bad:
