I can always remember the protagonist during the show and most of the characters and some of the minor ones if they are appealing, but sometimes I end up mixing the names like when I starteatching Hunter x Hunter even though I really liked Hisoka, I kept remembering his name as Hiroka or Hesako. Idk why. If I finish the anime though, I'll end up forgeting their names unless the characters are interesting.

Yes, especially when they have those weird names, like Lelouch, Ulqiorra, and others that I can't remember, like that. Why can't people just have easy-to-remember Japanese names, instead of all these weird names no one has.

I thought I was the only one who had this problem! Unless I'm really into an anime from the start, I'll usually have to look at the Wikipedia page to see what all the characters' names are. This is especially the case when there are a lot of characters in the cast or if there are some characters that don't speak very often.

Most definitely yes, especially when it's a show that puts me in nostalgia mode. For what ever reason when I start to reminisce I forget the whole cast (except the MC maybe) and if I'm not thinking of a particular anime I can run down a whole laundry list of characters.

I only remember them if they really were a character I loved. Other than that, I have the same issue as you.

I've had many times where, while reading the subtitles, I see the characters discussing another character and I'm like "WHO?!?!?!" It's really tough because then some of the plot points are taken away from me. But the one anime where I can name character's first name AND last is: NARUTO. Mainly due to me visiting the Wiki character pages to read the story happening in the manga.

Sometimes I remember names instantly and never forget them. But for the most part I never remember character names. I think its because I watch so many different dramas and anime. I can't keep their names in my head for too long before they get pushed out >.<

Depends on the show. However, I seem to remember Anime characters' names better than other things, which just shows you where my priorities are.

I'm not good with names or faces. And if I have to match a name to a face? Grrrr!!! This goes for anime, non-anime, and in real life.

For me, it depends on how simple the name is or how close it is to something English. For example, "Vash the Stampede" is pretty easy. "Uiharu" is not.

I agree, The closer it sounds to "english" makes it easier to say and remember, I think. but your example of "Uiharu" Is hard to say *-* Even I can't pronounce it lol
