They (anime company) really need to finish it off.

I could always go to the light novel, but it just isn't the same. I mean FMP! is a really generic story, the reason why I like the anime series is because of the interaction between Sagara and Chidori... and Sagara's stern, serious face and constant failure at social hints.

I can't imagine myself being able to enjoy the light novel,

KyoAni is too busy making "moeblob" anime to care about us FMP! fans :(

I still have hope.

Actually, they are also working on a show that is a bit different with a dark fantasy genre to air this October.

Am I wrong in thinking that KyoAni is a never-ending fountain of money and hype and that everything they make will get them a profit? There's so many sequels they have to make, but they keep making unrelated things instead. It just results in even more sequels that they have to make. It's really annoying, to an extent.

Why not more K-On!, more FMP, more Haruhi Suzumiya, more Hyouka? What is honestly stopping them? Is it their fear of satisfied fans?

^FYI, I remember reading somewhere that the original voice-cast of TMOHS didn't want to do a third season. I can't even remotely stand by that though, as I have no clue. It's probably a bare-faced lie.

Anyway, I always liked the idea behind FMP, but thought the first series was a little overbearing at times. It was corny at the worst times and as much as I wanted to take the serious moments seriously, I kept being critical of it. You see, FMP: TSR did everything right that FMP did wrong, and I loved it. Fumoffu was fluff, of course, but it was okay fluff. A lot of people complain about filler and maybe it's better to compose a separate series entirely of fluff, thus leaving the original mostly story-based. However, I think a brief respite is welcome every once in a while, and Fumoffu bored me halfway through and I kept wondering where the actual story was heading. It would've been better to have a series that pushed the story even further past TSR than Fumoffu.

In short, FMP's anime could have had better presentation, but was worthwhile overall. TSR is a great example of what the first series should have striven to be, but I understand the first series needed to be more light-hearted. Fumoffu is what it is; fluff.

Since FMP is the only mecha I've seen so far, I can't comment on its quality genre-wise, but the mecha wasn't the selling point of FMP--the characters were.
