I have a question...

Will there be a comments section similar to the videos here on CR for each individual chapter? It would be interesting to see people discuss chapters weekly on the day it is released for the ongoing titles similar to simulcasts.

Doesn't look like it, but I think it's a good idea. I say, go post it in Suggestions / Feedback.

I really hope Crunchyroll do some kind of discount on All-Access membership, now's a great time to do a discounted 12 month All-Access deal ;)

Historically, (and by that I mean for the last two years for sure and possibly even before that), CR has offered a great deal at the end of November as a "Black Friday" special. I have no idea whether or not they plan to do the same this year, but I know if I were a monthly Anime member right now, I'd buy an All-Access month, and then go for the full year if they end up holding that sale. (Not sure what I'd do if I had an annual Anime membership.)

The manga reader, at least on PC, is extremely disappointing right now. The scans aren't as clean as many of the pirated ones and the reader itself is inferior. Unless you have eagle vision, good luck reading them as the manga pages are extremely small. The reader doesn't even fill the page - there's a ton of space around it.

There's a full screen toggle in the lower right corner of the reader.

I'm not liking that the reader doesn't retain the same zoom level when you change pages, nor that the scroll wheel controls page turns. I'd prefer to read in single-page view with the image zoomed to cover the entire width of the screen, and then use the scroll wheel to pan down the page. Failing that, it'd be nice if I could use the up and down arrows on my keyboard to move around the page.

fuzzytipsy wrote: Edit: I notice that Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail only have simulpub chapters. Is that because they are the only ones currently released by Kodansha Comics (USA)? I know that others have been licensed but not released.

It said in the article: "Why are certain chapters of a particular title not available on Crunchyroll Manga?

Due to contractual negotiations with publishers, if a physical copy or e-book is available for sale, that series might not be available on Crunchyroll Manga. We are working towards ensuring that volumes not available for digital reading be available for physical purchase on our E-Commerce store with membership benefits."

As with any licensing, I don't think CR can really tell us the details behind them, but I'd say that it's probably a good assumption that it has to deal with the current contracts from Kodansha (USA).

Edit: A Town Where You Live and As the God Wills don't seem to be on the iPad app. Is this a licensing issue?

If u don't get an answer here by the time u read this, u may want to report this here: support@crunchyroll.com or in the Help forums: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumcategory-394638/help

I'm not being able to read anything...nothing appears at that section for me.

I'm afraid it's not available in Brazil and Mexico.

Really?!, but there's no any editorial here (Mexico) releasing manga yet, and moreover, the only title that may be released on here next year of the 12 is Shingeki if I'm not mistaken (there's an editorial releasing Hellsing, but that's a bit irrelevant right now and they are more focused in comics than manga).

I was very hyped with this, I was even thinking in upgrade my membership to read manga here on CR, but sadly I think I just going to keep reading my manga in the old way . But if this is a way of Kodansha to say that they will bring manga (fisically) to México in a near future, then I think it's ok =/

I just downloaded the Crunchyroll Manga App to my Android smartphone. I really like that you can bookmark pages on the app.

I also like that it does remember what page you are on when reading chapters when you're using the PC.

Do you have page up and page down buttons (separate from the arrow buttons)? Those work for me.

Is there a button that makes it zoom in or out, without having to click on them with the mouse? That's really my only complaint so far.

The page up and page down buttons flip between pages when viewing a comic on the website, but they do nothing in full screen mode. Same with the scroll wheel. The left and right buttons also flip pages and they work on the website and in full screen mode. So far the only way I've found to move around a page when it's zoomed in is to click-and-drag.

Ahhhh. I wasn't using full page mode. It surprises me that there is that much of a difference. That does indeed sound annoying and inconvenient.

I suggest making suggestions for improvement here: /forumcategory-391026/suggestions-feedback

(I actually don't especially like reading manga on my computer anyway--it's one thing I didn't like about JManga. I'm looking forward to getting home to my iPad mini and trying out the iOS app. But that's hours away )

I need to get used to read in landscape display with scrolling down on my android. It would be nice if in the future we can the option of full view the pages in portrait display and turn to next page with a touch on the side.

I think I'm going to hold off as tempting as it is until they have full page mode and other things, it's too hard to read as it is.

I think at the moment the offering is pretty weak. Twelve titles, but for three of the most popular ones it's pretty pointless (unless your someone who owns the books, but refuses to read illegally :-P)

So far, not worth an extra £4 a month.
