that would be a good addition, they should totally consider it. although i prefer reading the actual tankoubon, i read certain manga online, and if CR added the right titles, i would definitely use it.

That would be a great idea. Being able to watch shows like "The World Only God Knows" "Sword Art Online" and the "Monogatari" series manga and light novels would definitely worth the extra fee.

I definitely think CR should add manga....er....."streaming".

Viz has a subscription service where you can read the various series they license, so it can be done.

Manga is a big part of the industry(I don't know many anime fans who don't read manga as well), and just like anime it is heavily pirated.

It would be great that CR would do that, but I think that would be a big underpinning for them to take. Not that they can't do it, but they'd have to get in touch with a lot of publishers, have to buy the licenses from the manga currently available on other sites, etc.

I'd love to see them add that service, but I don't think we'll see it anytime soon. Plus, there's already Shonen Alpha

Honestly, I'd probably just buy my manga in print or read it on SJA. Keep CR for anime, and let the other sites do what they do.

Although to be perfectly honest, it would be pretty awesome

I'm pretty sure Shinji himself advertised it and asked for suggestions.

Edit: Just so I don't look like I'm lying: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-729549/jmanga-launches-817

It was a complicated relationship, but it wasn't really Crunchyroll.

Given all the free sites out there, I don't think they could manage it with taking a huge loss.

I don't know if I would support it..depends on who the target audience is..and what genres would be included.
At least on the illegal scan sites all genres are represented, and not just one or two titles..there are lots of titles in the genres I like to read.

No, history has shown on multiple occasions that unless you can download DRM-free manga to your own system under the pay system then it is not profitable or sustainable. Either way the ability to read certain few manga online will not really make Crunchyroll that more appealing to new customers that don't already have membership now.

Crunchyroll has been recent years becoming the dominant licensor of many seasonal titles of anime each year, with the licensing regions increasing and presumably membership numbers growing in response. I wouldn't want the most likely highly profitable and very important to the anime industry, company of Crunchyroll to fail because of a bad business move such as the one being proposed here.

Just my opinion...
