Highly technical fighters (read: Arcsys) are way better. Try Blazblue or Guilty Gear or Persona 4 Arena.

It's my very first figure, hopefully to be the first in a very large collection. As for this figure here, it's f*cking beautiful. I have beheld the craftsmanship of God, and all I can do is weep at its beauty.

I wouldn't go THAT far...

Buy a figure made by Alter, then try to tell me that again. Alter makes the best figures. I know I posted pictures, but they don't do my figures justice. Also, my Kotobukiya Yotsunoha figure is kawaii like a boss. My Milla figure is very well made, but it's a step below all my high-dollar figures, although a few steps above my cheaper kon-bought figures.

Yeah, I mostly over-exaggerated it, lol. But for my very first figure, I just absolutely love it.

Yeah, Alter figures are just a cut above the rest. I'm saving and planning on nabing myself that Sakura and Saber they got, those two just ooze quality.

I'm always looking at Kotobukiya figures, but I just can't find any I like.

ON the FIghters thing, 2D Fighters are just fine, and the Arcsys is just fine as well. You've convinced me to pick up a Blazeblue game sometime.

That said, the fighting system ain't no better than Soul Calibur or Street Fighter, they're just different.

Of course, the different weapon lengths, swing speeds, and well....stuff in Soul Calibur has made me a huge fan. Nothing quite beats weapons when it comes to fighter I tell yah, I'm a huge Weapon fanatic.

I want to grab P4 Arena too, perhaps before Blazeblue.

Blazblue has a lot to offer. Story mode is considered deep (for a fighting game), lots of extra modes like Score Attack, Unlimited Mars (if you're a masochist), and others that I never play. Online play is pretty solid. Comparing a 3D fighter like Soul Caliber to Blazblue is almost impossible. Blazblue has a LOT more going on. It moves a lot faster (P4A is even faster) and there's a lot of things to consider. It's easier to pick up than Guilty Gear, but has a lot of depth. If you want to be good at it, you'll be spending years. I've been playing it since it launched back in 2009 and I wouldn't consider myself an expert.

You should watch combo videos on YouTube to see. It's very flashy. Especially stuff like Ragna's Blood Kain combos.

For a first figure, it's really good. I think the figure alone sells on eBay for about $150. Figures are tough to collect, because they are always limited runs, and always very expensive (for good ones).

Just checked on ebay, and cheapest I found for the Milla figure was roughly $80, but there were some for $150+. I don't know much about how the value fluctuates for CE Figures like this, but I'd assume their value would increase once the CE is sold out and they become more rare and impossible to buy through official channels.

Currently have my eye on this Jude figure, which like the Milla figure, is also made by Alter.

Goddamn I wish I had more money, lol ... ... ...

And the Alter Milla figure looks a lot nicer than whatever figure we have. Not sure who made it.

Literally just noticed that there are two different Milla figures. Holy shit, the Alter figure is of much higher quality, why the fuck weren't we given that one instead? But still, I'm happy with the figure I have now.

Because Alter figures cost big $$$. I spent about $200 for my 1/6th scale KOS-MOS figure. There's probably 20 Alter figures that I want that cost too much. You gotta preorder if you don't want to get price gouged later on Amazon or eBay. I just recently learned this.

Worry not dude the "Deepish for a fighting game" story mode bought me up on the game. I started my Soul Calibur fandom with 2 Like the majority of people, but I didn't skip or forget about 3.
Soul Calibur 4 and 5? Pathetic waste compared to 3.

3 had the decent story mode with animated Cutscenes, complete with input commands Resident Evil 4 style, topping it of with hidden bosses and alternate endings, like, YES.

Then you had the Chronicles of the Sword mode....like damn man. I sat and played that crappy overhead map for hours just to learn and find out the meh story behind my Custom character. oh, Character Customization? 9 Weak alternate but totally playable Custom Fighting styles? Really beefed up the fun of that mode.

To end it all, they had a Tournament mode, a realllly fleshed out Training mode I've not seen the like in a 3D fighter since, and 8 unique minigames including things like Hidden OP Bosses like Night Terror and a Collosus.

Yeah, SC3 had it all, and 4 and 5 did so poorly, they actually canceled the Series for the foreseeable future. I really like the game ok?

Back to the figure talk, we do have our on thread on it too btw, but who cares!

Yeah, the Alter Figures are so expensive you have to pick one you really like before you grab one. I'm seriously wanting that Sakura Matou I brought a picture of up there. Amazon wise she's a massive 220-280 in price! But she looks more than worth it to me. I'm not really a fan of 1/8 size figures as they tend to be over-bulky for my tastes, so if I get one it'll have to be more than high enough in quality to justify buying it, regardless of price.

I'm much more a fan of Figma's, they're posable figures man, with a solid B in quality. Ain't no Triple S Alter for sure, but you get poseability for a decent 40-80 price tag. They're also on a small scale so they don't take up too much room, but are large enough to have a real weight to them. Any of the figures from Bandai however are a toss up. Sure you could get SSJ Goku, and it's a decent buy. But anything else and you're taking a gamble on it's quality.

Of course, I'm really hoping to find another Art of War figure like I did at the last Con I went two, they were asking a lousy 180! If I caught it on the first day it'd be mine, but I only caught it during the last minutes of the last day, browsing with a friend.
http://www.art-of-war.co.jp/english/items/detail.php?gid=221

Everything from Art of War is limited run, once made, super expensive pre-order only.
Right now they got a 63,000 Yen (According to the Goo-gley, 637 Buckeroo's) Human-form Zodd on Preorder.

Like, dayum dude.

And that Kos-Mos figure is worth it!
