I'm not much for romance either, but I have to say Ai no Kusabi (the original not the remake) great love story with an ending that was a real surprise. I think it's the best love story ever told. I also think Basilisk was a great love story, even though Oboro got on my nerves.

Another great love story is Fruits Basket. great story about acceptance and love.

I found Maid Sama, OHSHC, and Special A to be nice love stories, not great, but nice.

I totally agree! I'm also gonna add Sekai Itchi Hatsukoi!

Clannad and Clannad Afterstory. I don't care what anybody says.

Kannazuki's CHIMEKO disagrees.

Girl/Girl love stories have better stories, anyway. B)

Tomoyo Sakagami disagrees.

That's good too, I do like it and thought it was a nice love story. I thought about adding Brothers Conflict, but that seems to be more a fan girl's delight than a great love story.

I... don't care HOW many times it's been said, and I don't care HOW many good or bad things have been said about it-
ToraDora was, is, and always will be, The Greatest Love Story Ever Told (at least, in my opinion). I won't say any more about it, since again, it's been said several times, but ToraDora is seriously a masterpiece in my eyes.

If I had to say something else, it'd probably be another typical answer like Clannad+After Story, and maybe Chu2.

Yaoi stories have a better love story than most shoujos....or yuris

Mirage of Blaze *hands down*, Legend of the blue wolves (this one made me cry), and another one that i don't remember the title (watched like 10 years ago)....

I haven't seen enough romantic anime to really have a definitive answer, but I guess some of my favorites would be Spice and Wolf and the tragic love between Yoshino and Aika in Blast of Tempest. I honestly wasn't all that impressed by Toradora.

In anime for me it's probably the one from "Whisper of the heart". It was very heartfelt and just looked so real.

I hadn't watched Toradora! last time I posted in this thread.

Now, I have.

Toradora! is, hands down, the best romance and the best story about true love that has ever come out of anime.
