I don't hate anyone because I can't think of a reason to. Hating something or someone only causes unneeded stress that hampers your ability to thrive.

i hate murderers, pedo's, rapist etc be they have made me feel nervous walking on street or just traveling around its also make you feel like you have to judge people encase they could be one of any... so you end up being judgmental without even knowing (being stereotyped etc)

Just close minded people, bullies, people with big ego, and family members who are just completely rotten (thinking my only dumb cousin).

That is about all.

I hate the people who I put my trust in, then went behind my back and tried to hurt me.

You'd have to do something pretty bad to make me hate you. Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone I still hold a grudge against. The most angry I get is at my brother but that's hardly an uncommon thing in most families anyway.

~ o,..,o ~ I know of such a person that has caused me to hate her like i have never hated anyone in my entire life. It is not what she took from me, but the perverse pleasure she took in tormenting me afterwards. She even told me she liked f**king with me cus it was so funny. She was relentless in rubbing it in my face that she had won & that i was a loser. Everything she did to hurt me was of a psychological nature meant to demoralize me. It was as if she was obsessed with hurting me emotionally. She is like a walking malignant dark soul that gets pleasure out of belittling people. People feel awkward and dumb around her even though she is only 17 years old. People that befriend her have to act inferior to her. She always dominates them in some way to that point. She is not an easy person to be around or to be friends with. She acts older than her age and uses her intelligence to manipulate people around her.

I'm the opposite, it's narrowing down what I like in people that I wish to associate with. If I couldn't trust them to help me bury a body, make me laugh to tears, or earn my respect via knowledge or other channels then at best I will be indifferent towards them.

My view on people has been stated in my sig for quite a while as is.

Take any given person on the planet. The odds are incredibly good that there are some things you love about the person, and some things that you hate. When the things that a person hates start to outweigh those that he loves, he is reminded of the things he hates more often, and will probably begin to say that he "dislikes" said person. When the things he hates far outnumber the things he loves, the general appraisal of the person turns to "hate."

People are absolutely right to claim that hate is a strong word, as it should be. I would claim (on very weak evidence) that insofar as you know a person in his entirety, you simultaneously love and hate that person. Rather, it might be more accurate to say that you love certain things, and hate others. Otherwise, you have no opinions, thoughts, or feelings on practically anything, which makes you a bit of a dolt anyway.

But to get back to my main point, I'm pretty convinced that it's only theoretically possible to hate a person in his entirety. I seriously doubt it's practically possible at this point. You need to be sure you know absolutely everything about him (I don't even know myself in my entirety, and I've got access to my thoughts), and also be sure that there's absolutely nothing you like about him (even Hitler was a pretty decent painter). I'm not sure either of those is possible, which means that I must always assume the possibility that there's something I like about someone, and something that I hate about him.

So, to the question "what does it take to hate someone?" I answer: "knowing them."

I hate everyone equally until I get to know the person then it's a matter of "do I like you?" or "Do I hate you even more?"

I usually don't generalize about who I hate. I understand that people can do bad things but also that they can change. Because of this, it is very hard to get me to really hate someone. There are buttons and personality triggers that can cause me to get angry, but real hate is a rarity and even less common than real love.

There are some individuals who I hate, but I still don't act upon my hatred toward them.
